She won't be the same person if she does come back. And you won't be the same. Once you get over her, is when she will come back.

Sounds like me. First a failed marriage isn't just your failure, it's shared. 13 years thrown away, but do you want to waste more years? Space is what you need, emotionally, physically and mentally. So her moving out is great for you. Don't message her, and work every day to think less of her. Focus on the kids and your self, because she certainly isn't focusing on you. She doesn't want to be married, but keep the benefits of it. At a cost to your feelings. To get over it, means to stop thinking …

Therapy, you need it years ago. A good therapist will help you see things objectively. See things that where in your control and things that are not. Help fix your head for yourself.

People change so do relationships, if you don't want to savage yours, make sure you are certain. Once certain words and said and expressed there is no going back. Marriage counseling is always a choice before you say or file for divorce. Therapy also is good for depression.

You have submitted to this until the kid is out of highschool. You don't have to and can change it. My guess everything is because it's best for the kid. Who is 17-18 years old. You will never have control of your wife, and your child is soon to be an adult and you should not have any control at this point, they are will be adult. You are seeking agency in your life and it will start with things you can do. Go work out, get ready for divorce that you are coming, live your life as you are already…

Continuing. Do not move out. Do not sign anything. And, don't give up fight for you, for your kids. Everything should start at 50/50, kids time, assets and debt. Take control of your life, do not wait for her moves and react. Make her react to you. If you haven't go take a weekend to get drunk with a friend and start making plans and research your state divorce laws. Research divorce dos and do nots. You got this, one day one thing at a time

Really depends on what state you live in, if there is no fault divorce, kids split 50/50. Do your research and if it has been filed then you need to talk to her and official put a date on the end of the marriage. If you two can work it out create a divorce settlement document on how assets can be split, then print it out and get both of you too sign. You will ask the courts for a mediator that will look at the documents and hammer out the small details. If you two cannot work it out then you wil…

"you as a man and all that you can provide and the strength that you have, you are the gatekeeper for a relationship" I have never looked at it this way and you are right. Thank you for sharing this wisdom.

Ah mine went to a therapist but lied and convinced her that she was great and fine. Or she lied to me what the therapist was saying. Told me the therapist was amazed by her and she was fixing her self amazingly. I knew she was lying but couldn't call her out.

Ah dude, I know where you are coming from. You are stuck in the middle. Still thinking as the family man but the family is broken. Most of if not all your post is still about her, what you did wrong to her, getting her back, crushing her, her taking your wealth. These are things from your past now that you need to accept is over stop making it about her. Let go of the guilt, let go of getting her back, let go of the family as it use to be. Let go of being the provider, let go of hurting her. Do …

Some days will be like this. Feel what you have to feel that day, but make the next day better.

Same boat, thought that when the kids got older we would have time to fix it. Never accept more blame, relationships are equal faults. No good marriages end in divorce, even if you thought the family was great, the marriage wasn't. I would recommend a therapist, just so they can help guide you to balance. They will help look at things from an outside point of view so you don't just take most of the blame.

It's not our duty to educate, but just fine one that knows their feelings better. Learn what you want from our partner from previous partners

Forgive her so you can move on. Don't hold on to anything with her, because she hasnt held on to anything with you. One moment at a time, and 1 day at a time. Go work out, I find lifting makes the thoughts go away. Channel your anxiety to the future you to be better.

I'm in the same boat. 2 and 4 year old. Just no more family unit, even if it was bad it was family. Don't drink, or smoke, don't ignore your thoughts or emotions. Get a therapist, go out and see friends and family. Go do the things you did single, dwelling in the past only leads to sadness. Make plans, get in shape, go on a vacation, travel. Remake your life and enjoy it's only you now

Agreed to this. When women get married they truly want their feelings to stay forever. But once those emotions pass, they feel betrayed by the husband, it can never be their fault that they don't feel the same way. Some women I want to believe know that relationships change, just because they don't feel the same way doesn't mean the marriage is less.

How dare you not trying in your free time not to make her happy. If shes unhappy you have to try or its your fault... At least this was her logic

Forget about her might be the best way to have a chance. Simping for her is something she is used too, hot girls like that are constantly chased. When you see your kid again, ignore her. She wont expect it and might try to get your attention, because that is how she gets her power over you back.

Your doing good for them. Stay emotional solid and steady for them, boost them up and stay positive for them. In the long run they will love you for it.

Im sorry, its so hard when someone you wanted to be with changes away from you. I waited years for her to come back, only in the end for her to cheat.

There is no simple answer, but lots of resources on this topic. Read up on a few books on this. Take the high road, is one that i have seen recommended on this subreddit.

Its not your fault. For me my ex changed so much when she entered motherhood, that she just forgot about me. She was trying her best, because her own childhood trauma and that just didnt include me. So its not my fault, she changed away from me. Its not yours either

I understand completely. All plans i had for the future for us are gone. Let it go. For me there was two things that happened, one is i looked at what went wrong, so i could learn in the future not to do those things. You can only change your self. Write it down, getting thoughts in a journal ment i could move on. Grieve for the future you have lost, feel the emotions and process it. Two, start thinking about new possibilites, the next person and how you will do things better. Start planning for…

I feel you on this. In the same boat. But in the end its about you, you need to be complete for your babies, the best father you can be will have nothing to do with their mother.

Your ex has decided to move on, so theyre opinons and thoughts about you dont matter. The validation you once seeked and got from her is gone. You are dead to her, she should be dead to you.

Be honest with your side. You guys are divorced if you dont explain your side people will just think her story is correct. Tell your truth and let people decide where they want to fall.

Focus on the future what you will gain. Your old hobbies, friends, new hobbies, time and freedom. But there will be pain with what you have lost, feel it and learn from it. Become better for the next person.

Often times there are signs before hand that you missed. When a women initatites the divorce she is done, but for the man it has just begun. At least this is my case.

Sounds like you dont have the option for a lawyer. I would tell her that you guys need to work out logistics face to face or else what little you have will go to lawyers. Ask for a time just to talk logically, try to keep emotions out of it, just to figure out how assets and debts will be split.

Keep trying 0 contact, just because you had a moment of weakness doesn't mean to give up. Use that moment to become stronger and move on. Find something to plan, go do weights, pick up a new hobby, and get a therapist who can help give you an objective view of your relationship. If you are reaching out here, you should really find a therapist that can navigate your feelings with a more personal touch than random people online.
