| 1 | Judge Judy Gets ItOk... I disagree but can't control what you think. | /r/MensRights | 31/05/17 09:26 PM |
| 0 | Judge Judy Gets ItYou're just repeating the same thing in each comment right now, and not addressing any of my responses... if you feel like writing something unique then I'll respond. If not that's cool too. | /r/MensRights | 25/05/17 10:08 PM |
| 1 | Judge Judy Gets ItI guess we disagree fundamentally on child support and I guess how society should work. I don't think there's a point of continuing this discussion since we disagree on something a lot bigger than that. My mom actually makes almost the same amount of money as my dad now btw. She was a doctor from another country, and just had to get herself re-licensed as a nurse here. She would've been able to support me if she got a worse job and stopped studying, but my dad wouldn't have wanted that anyways a… | /r/MensRights | 25/05/17 09:27 PM |
| 0 | Judge Judy Gets ItMy dad would be paying for most stuff until my mom finishes school? I feel like people here are inherently triggered by child support even if it's done right. Child support actually serves a real purpose. It could be exploited but only if the parent isn't using it on the kid. A kid needs more than money to survive, and money is one of the most transferrable things. What if the earning potential of the parents switches after the separation (very well can happen if my dad gets laid off and my mom … | /r/MensRights | 25/05/17 06:53 PM |
| 1 | Judge Judy Gets ItI can't "decide" the feelings of anyone, I can express my understanding of them. You keep implying I disregard the feeling of my dad, I wonder how I'm doing that, disregarding would usually imply actions on my part that go against what he wants without considering what he thinks. I'm just stating my understanding of my own dad. I'm not deciding anything for him. He can speak you know, and communicate his feelings, which he does. I don't know why you're arguing with me on this, since if you didn'… | /r/MensRights | 25/05/17 06:40 PM |
| 1 | Judge Judy Gets ItI'm not going to guess your feelings, or your dad's feelings. But I can make a statement on my own dad's feelings since I know him well. He's not the type to have "real feelings" that he would hide, and he has a pretty healthy environment to make his feelings known. If you have concerns about expressing your real feelings or feel like people are making decisions for your against your will, that's probably based on your own experiences and you shouldn't project that onto other people. I'm not say… | /r/MensRights | 24/05/17 10:47 PM |
| 1 | Judge Judy Gets ItI think it's fair to speak for people that's close to you if you know them well enough. I'm not gonna randomly say "hey dad, if you and mom had a divorce and mom got custody would you still pay for me" out of nowhere. I don't get why you think I need to get a written statement from him or something to represent his feelings accurately. I'm also quite sure that my parents won't disown me if I had premarital sex or something, and no I didn't discuss this with them explicitly, but I know them well … | /r/MensRights | 24/05/17 08:56 PM |
| -1 | Judge Judy Gets ItI think I know my dad very well... again this is my own family. Other families may be different, if other dads don't want to do that, that's like a father saying he doesn't want to spend money on supporting his kid. It's irresponsible to walk away from a kid, it's not the kid's fault the parents decided to separate. A dad would only not want to help his kid if he didn't love his kid, or hates the mom more than he loves the kid. Basically, he has responsibilities to his kid, whether he has custod… | /r/MensRights | 24/05/17 07:12 PM |
| -2 | Judge Judy Gets ItI'm 100% sure he'll be ok with it, but that's my family. I understand some people might use this to do unkind things to each other. Ideally when 2 people separate from each other, they should be able to have nothing to do with each other, but when you have a kid it's complicated. Both parents should be involved as much as possible, contributing however they can, unless one of them is toxic. Honestly if went with my dad, it should be unfair to my dad cuz he has to do primary care AND work long ho… | /r/MensRights | 24/05/17 06:54 PM |
| -3 | Judge Judy Gets ItShould could've if she tried. She was studying for a while, but she could've just went and got a job if really needed. The thing is my dad probably wouldn't have wanted her to stop studying and would've supported me either way even if they did separate, cuz her working a crappy job would mean she would have no time for me and my quality of life would suffer. And he would still be my dad, he would've just lost my mom as his wife. Not every divorce causes the couple to be mortal enemies or screw e… | /r/MensRights | 24/05/17 06:25 PM |
| -2 | Judge Judy Gets ItTo be fair, the stay at home parent is usually closer to the child and I'm sure the child would be happier with that parent. If a parent is working really long hours, they might not know the kid and be a good of a care taker as the stay at home one. Honestly if I was young and my parents got separated I would be a bit devastated if I were to go with my dad an not my mom since she was the one that did the primary caring for me at the time. And I absolutely love my dad, it's just that he's not gon… | /r/MensRights | 24/05/17 04:51 PM |
| 0 | Female here 🙋🏻 avid supporter of men's rightsI think there's a bit of a miscommunication here. I'm not saying men deserve any of these things due to historical reasons, I'm pointing out potential reasons why some of these things are common place or socially accepted because of historical bias (rather than your claim that it was from feminist activities). You're basically saying that you can't debate logically with me here because a lot of things I'm saying are just offensive and your response has been "omg I can't believe you said that, I … | /r/MensRights | 10/05/17 06:03 PM |
| 0 | Female here 🙋🏻 avid supporter of men's rightsI agree that there's resistance against men's rights and it's not easy for the average man to speak out about men's rights. Thanks for taking the time to find sources. I've seen some version of all of these before, which is why I agree it's not easy to speak up. But these are specific examples in isolation, I can't make a conclusion based on specific video clips and news clips without more information. I'll need to know if these are organized feminist groups and how many feminist groups do stuff… | /r/MensRights | 10/05/17 02:30 AM |
| 1 | Female here 🙋🏻 avid supporter of men's rightsThat's a good point. I always felt that MRAs attack feminists more than feminists attack MRAs and felt that MRAs are a bit petty and irrationally angry. But feminists do attack men far more than MRAs attack women. MRAs are much nicer to women on average than feminists are to men. It's one of the core issues with men's rights I think, that people feel like men can take more abuse in general and is ok with abusing men to a point that would never be ok with women. I understand the anger a bit more … | /r/MensRights | 09/05/17 11:27 PM |
| 1 | Female here 🙋🏻 avid supporter of men's rightsI'm not calling you mad or confused. Feelings are valid things and can be totally justified. I know a lot of men thinks feelings aren't too important to a discussion, but I think very highly of them. They're concrete things and most actions and decisions are based on feelings more so than facts, so it's not something to be taken lightly at all. But feeling are also personal and shouldn't be imposed on others. The thing is feminism isn't an official organization, different people behave in differ… | /r/MensRights | 08/05/17 05:15 PM |
| 1 | Female here 🙋🏻 avid supporter of men's rightsIf most of the world is "ignorant" to your views, then you should consider maybe your view is either skewed or very niche. It's possible to have niche views that are correct, but you should still reflect a bit. It's fine to personally not like feminists or be anti-feminist, if that's your thing and your goal is just to vent then that's fine. But my view is that an idea like feminism doesn't have an absolute core because it's decentralized and not an official organization with an official mission… | /r/MensRights | 08/05/17 04:12 PM |
| 0 | Female here 🙋🏻 avid supporter of men's rightsMaybe we live somewhere completely different then, I've never heard of women's studies before the internet told me about it. I'm not sure if my school even had that course, if it did it didn't draw any attention to itself. I don't think feminism is a club where you have to be taught by women's studies to be one... it's an ideology and people act on it in different ways. What requirements are there for MRAs? Are there a men's study class or an e-course you need to take before being an MRA? Either… | /r/MensRights | 08/05/17 03:11 PM |
| 0 | Female here 🙋🏻 avid supporter of men's rightsNo... I never did. But most people don't, and I think it's a bit silly for grown adults to be advocating against some students of a niche course don't you think? | /r/MensRights | 08/05/17 02:20 PM |
| 1 | Female here 🙋🏻 avid supporter of men's rightsI never had women talk to be about patriarchy and any of the stuff that you guys are saying feminism is spreading everywhere. If it's a thing then it's a very niche thing that doesn't really affect normal people. I learned about all this patriarchy and men hating theories from men complaining about it. I do think men's issues are a huge thing that's being ignored, but all this feminist theories about the patriarchy and stuff is why I can't take MRAs seriously when they start talking about stuff … | /r/MensRights | 08/05/17 01:48 PM |
| -6 | Female here 🙋🏻 avid supporter of men's rightsI've seen men's groups complain far more about feminists than feminists complain about MRA's. I think there's definitely men's rights issues, but you should actively work towards that than attack feminists. I admit there's been a few instances where feminist groups attacked MRA's but for the most part they don't really talk about it. | /r/MensRights | 08/05/17 01:41 PM |
| 2 | Another Perspective on the Wage GapIf this is the case I'll be very happy. Growing up as a girl I was pretty pissed off when I heard about the wage gap cuz I thought it was for the same job. But if it's just because of men and women having different jobs then I'll be so relived. So far in my professional career I experienced no wage gap yet. I was afraid that as I get older and move to more senior positions it might impact me then, I'll be the happiest person if the wage gap is a lie. | /r/PussyPassDenied | 13/04/17 08:03 AM |
