Thanks. Why does your client need yet another app to send messages? Text and email do the same thing. What does this app do that is different?

How does this work? Aren't there birthdays, sports, plays, sickness, notes from school etc etc. How do you handle all this without talking????

Amen to this. Found this walking with my daughter for about 30mins one way to the library and back! Or even yard work alone. Got a lot off my mind this past weekend.

Oh I'm in the DMV too! MD to be precise. Not sure how it will go. I'm aiming for mediation if she doesn't decide to be a douche. Good luck buddy. I hope it goes well for you.

Jeezus man! If you have custody and she's just 30k shy of you, shouldn't she be paying you child support??? This really scares me. I'm in the process of filing. Last year I probably made 3x what she made. This year had to change positions to make time for the kids but that came with a massive damn near 30% pay cut. So yeah. Your story got me all puckered up. I'm glad you sorted it out even though you had to shell out dough. That money upfront saved you a ton of never ending pain down the road!

Wait a minute that's not even that big a difference. 130k to 100k? WTF dude. Did y'all have kids?

Of course it's going to be an issue with some and not with others. That's the beauty of life... variety. In the grand scheme of things, it almost doesn't matter. This is your reality, can't go back and change the past. Move on. This is just another battle scar. If you keep on dwelling on: "will they have an issue" it will start to become a crutch every time you get rejected. I would refrain from even giving this line of thought strength. No need to create new mental hurdles... Life is hard enoug…

Don't know if monogamy is "the natural way of nature" but, our long gone ancestors figured out that in the harsh times that they lived in, monogamous-ish family structures were the best system to survive and propagate. 7+ billion people later on the planet, we really can't argue with that logic...

Hey man. I don't think you should beat yourself up. You didn't "fall off" the gray rock wagon. These are your children. You are bound to this woman for life through them till death take one of you. You should communicate through all means possible about the kids and that's it. Falling off would be you calling to beg to be taken back or some other simpish shit. What you did was having an adult conversation about a common interest that's it. Stay strong.

Exactly. You original comment was clear at least to me that you found someone of better overall compatibility not just sex. After all sex is just 30 minutes then you've got her for the other 23.5hrs of the day! She better be good for more than just sex...lol. Glad it's going well for you. Gives the rest of us hope. Keep on winning!

Thank you! I will look into him and the book. Edit: what you said is very true. The therapists I'm finding seem to have the paradigm of: man bad, woman good. One literally told me she only works with women and gay men for this very reason. 🫤

This sub is very important. Lots of knowledge in here. I think most of us need someone to talk to or else we do dumb shit. Remember we're men and when we hurt, we're capable of a lot of damage.

Too late man. Will be 6yrs come January 2024... Thanks to the good folk on this subreddit and channels like The Business on YouTube, I've been able to correct a lot of the simping that I had been doing. Crazy thing is, the less simpish I become, the better she responds!!! Dude it's wild. This stuff should be taught to lil boys at 10yrs old!
/r/Divorce_Men24/08/23 10:26 AM

You could be right. I didn't ask for the details maybe she got it in the settlement. Divorce is a bitch.

Yooo you serious?? Buddy at work divorced his ex back in the 90s. He just found out that 30+yrs later, she's still entitled to his pension!!!! I thought that was the craziest crap I've ever heard. Now this life insurance stuff is on a whole other level.
/r/Divorce_Men22/08/23 10:10 AM

Dude sorry to hear that. It happens especially if it was as hard to get kids as it was for y'all. Mine was the same way after the 1st kid but got worse with 2nd one. I nipped it in the bud earlier this year and she's been ok so far. I was ready to walk out and made it abundantly clear to her... Didn't back down when she tried the water works 😭 trick. We're now in a much better space. Hang in there man. Divorce isn't the end of the world. It gets better eventually 🫡

Thank you so much. Yes she PPD after kiddo #2. Kiddo had feeding issues so it was stressing her to the nth degree. We worked thru that and she got better as kiddo started feeding fine at about the 9 month mark. These issues had been going on even before kiddo #2 but got way worse afterwards. I went seen a therapist and he talked me off the ledge. We have been having regular deep talks and things are slowly getting better. She's slowly getting affectionate again and I'm starting to care again. We…

Well he's a man from a different era. Back in them days, to be with a woman, you were either paying a hooker or marrying a woman. Kinda hard to unwire damn near 8 decades of hard wired coding.
/r/Divorce_Men20/03/23 10:05 PM
2

Amen to that! I'm one of them married guys 🤣🤣🤣
/r/Divorce_Men05/03/23 06:02 PM

To 2nd point above, you getting married is like people in fucked up situations deciding to have kids coz "it will bring us closer" but then things get way worse but now with kids involved...
/r/Divorce_Men05/03/23 03:01 PM
2

I was thinking the same thing but here's what it does: You ask her that and you sit back and observe. 1.If she can't come up with anything, changes the topic or just gets irate, then you've got huuuge problems coz whatever issues she's having with are much deeper I would even say maybe resents you? 2. It now puts the responsibility for her happiness on her. If your woman isn't already fully checked out, then it force her to stop and wonder what is it exactly that's making her angry? For me it wo…

Yes and yes. But that's how I was raised. Gotta put your woman on the highest pedestal even if it's to your own detriment. "That's what good hardworking men do" Don't know if you got that speech too.

This is very true. The sisterhood is very strong. They still look you dead in the face and try to force you to agree that a 300lb woman is a 10! Like how? Lol

Maaan I made the mistake of cross posting on r/Marriage you wanna talk about feminism? It became about me being a misogynist for expecting reciprocating treatment from MY wife!!!! You're right too. Got comfortable and started simping hard. The fix has started.

I found out one of my biggest problems had been letting her get away with this kinda bullshit for too long. So I called her out on it and stood my ground this time and didn't let her change the subject or try to flip it on me... When cornered, she came clean... Apologized accepted fault... I was so shocked but then again, I'm the one that hasn't been holding her accountable.... Hope your next relationship will be great!
/r/Divorce_Men04/03/23 11:35 AM

I've started focusing on myself more. Just going to the gym and standing my ground instead of caving like I always do has made a huge difference. I also saw a therapist yesterday and that helped a lot getting an outside perspective. He pretty much told me to stop shouldering all the blame put some of it on her... Which I did and OMG she melted. Lesson? I haven't been holding her accountable...
/r/Divorce_Men04/03/23 11:32 AM
2

Thank you. I have started killing the simp in me. Step 1 was getting back in the gym. Step 2 is stop being nice, caving and accommodating each and every one of her whims Step 3 is getting back on my purpose. Step 4 will be changing my wardrobe. I've let myself go over the years got no style whatsoever. So far the gym alone and standing my ground has made a huuuge difference. Good luck buddy!

You're right. I figured the group is called Marriage. Maybe people with 20+yrs have solutions but all I got was lessons on semantics. One of the most useless groups on Reddit at least when it comes to this stuff. Woke up to a comment saying my post was "homophobic" ... That's when I tapped out and just left.
/r/Divorce_Men04/03/23 11:25 AM

Thank you. We just had a knockout dragout. This time I didn't back down and lo and behold, she actually owned up to her shit!!!!! I think I've been too nice over there years...
/r/Divorce_Men04/03/23 03:11 AM

You are spot on. That's exactly what the therapist said. That puts it on her plate. You are very knowledgeable. You are a great resource to this subreddit.
/r/Divorce_Men04/03/23 12:27 AM
3

Damn. You guys on here really know your stuff. Daddy issues? Check. Past trauma that still gets brought up every once in a while? Check. Your comment is very encouraging. Congrats on your new wife!
/r/Divorce_Men04/03/23 12:23 AM
3

OMG thank you. This was a great read. Sad that you get to read so many similar stories. Just seen a therapist today for the 1st time in my life. He suggested asking her 3 things I can do for her this week that would make her week better and just see what she says... I'll try it but maaan I'm worn down pretty thin. But I'll still give it a try. Thank you again.

You're right I've let a lot of things go. I was raised on a steady diet of, "You don't argue with a woman. Ignore her antics blah blah". I might have misinterpreted that 😕
/r/Divorce_Men03/03/23 09:58 PM
6

I think that's where I messed up from the jump. I bent twisted and outright ignored my purpose to make her happy but it clearly didn't work. I've started with the gym been going steady since Nov 10, 2022. 5x a week and if I miss a day always make it up on the weekend and it's been very good for me. Thank you for the book recommendations. I have heard many good things about No More Mr. Nice Guy... Didn't they make a movie of it?
/r/Divorce_Men03/03/23 09:56 PM

Very good point. Kids learn from example not what we say. This here is a gem.
