So usually for the first time getting to know somebody, you can text about work, family, pets, memes and jokes (start feeling out sense of humor early), random occurrences, good morning and good night. After work ask how her day was, let her go off and then just ask small questions leading into how she feels about stuff that happened and why. You can also get a TON of information about how somebody manages conflict and stress just by how she talks about it, and being able to unload on somebody e…

Yeah, I know but a 1-5 day period of silence leading up to a date sounds horrible to me. I’d be bored, I LOVE texting, and I’d probably start texting other guys if the one I’m interested in doesn’t text me at all.

Oh god, if a guy texted me only to set up dates I’d probably ghost him immediately tbh. To me, texting is an important aspect of dating, so I vet guys quickly based on our texting rapport. Now, being a bad texter would probably also get someone ghosted, but I don’t think that the answer is FULL BLOWN stop texting. That doesn’t fix anything, they’re still going to get ghosted.

Very few shows or movies portray fat women as the ideal, they’re much more often used as a punchline than a romantic lead. I think I know one movie EVER that actually had a fat woman be the romantic lead, and even then it was also played as a joke (Hairspray). That’s nothing relative to the hundreds of thousands of shows and movies that shovel thin, beautiful women through as romantic leads. Sexual attraction is proven to be culturally based, typically led by the richest and most powerful of tha…

Yeah but why do you think that is? Socialization while young is really fundamental to our preferences as we get older too. Because we evolved as social creatures, we’re conditioned early on to follow “norms”, but now our society is huge, and we haven’t evolved in a way to separate large scale media like tv, movies, music, etc., so media factors into our social development too. Things don’t happen to large scale populations (IE men or women collectively, or other groups with stereotypes and trend…

Yeah, I think partly due to our media highlighting so many average looking men with intelligence or emotional depth, vs women only generally for looks/decoration. I think women are more likely to be flexible on looks if men have other high quality characteristics like sense of humor, passion, intelligence, “good dad” and provider qualities, versus men generally are not as flexible on looks/personality ratios. I say this bc I’m in the military and I’ve worked with like 90% men for years, so lots …

Right now I’m (29F) dating a 9/10 (30M) who I’ll admit is a bit better looking than me, and it’s heaven. Ladies if you haven’t tried it I’d recommend it. Screw insecurities, life is short and if you get the chance to date a gorgeous man then take it. Feeling your breath leave you every time he just leans against a wall or looks into your eyes is ridiculous and worth it. Average guys get attractive women bc women are socialized to pursue personality and depth (security) and men are socialized to …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
