I have no idea why they do that. I noticed this, when a guy friend got into a relationship. Suddenly other women who paid no attention to him, started making moves on him. Really weird behaviour.

A woman who is obsessed, would be mentally ill or suffer some personality disorder. Mentally healthy people don't get obsessed with others. It stems from attachment trauma as well. The most important thing is, that you can be open and vulnerable with eachother. That you respect eachother and make compromises and work as a team on your relationship. Things like these build trust.

I forgot where I read it, but seeking highs and excitement that way are often a sign of an addictive personality. Reading on that could help.

Both are right, but it needs balance. When you first meet someone you shouldn't act distrustful. Be neutral. Their behaviour and patterns will show you, if you can trust them. Trust is built over time. But it doesn't mean you have to be paranoid during this process or optimistic to a delusional level.

Yes. There are many like that. Boasting and showing off are not confidence though. It's character flaws and I doubt a confident person will feel the need to show off.
