I agree with the fact that there are people like that. To make it simple, there is always pressure, fomo, and fitting in in society. There are some people who know of this and willingly do that or take advantage of that reality to capitalize off of it. On the flip side, this cultivates younger generations being influenced bc these are some of the significantly popular models of society commonly discussed amongst young people. They want to fit in or please/look good in front of their peers. They …

Girls are objectified more. A lot are expected to have big boobs, big butts, small waists, pretty faces, etc. shallow guys treat girls terribly or with no respect and only like an object or piece of meat. We get hypersexualized at an early age and feel the pressure to fit the model of society to be treated better. Good looking guys can have a more narcissistic personality and can be toxic. A lot of men cheat on their wives/gf and it’s normalized. There are socio-normative phrases such as ex: (in…

I agree to the fact that the blame is not men OR women but people who do that (because it comes from both sides). Society is a complicated mess sometimes. I’m sure a lot of ppl do experience some extent of bullying, comparing selves to others, low self esteem at some point in their life. Put simple I think everyone is equal in experiencing discrimination when it comes to dating (not the same experience, but some form.) even “good looking” ppl. It just depends on how some ppl treat others. You ca…

I personally look for serious relationships, I don’t do fwb, so I can’t relate to her on that. For me it’s not necessarily during the relationship but more so when you first meet the person/have interest in the person. I think it’s a way to gage how the person you’re interested in feels/is invested/is interested too before directly approaching them (it’s like showing them a subtle sign, gaining their interest, and in a way flirting) before directly approaching them. I’ve experienced this a coupl…

I’m not justifying it. I’m acknowledging it, but you have to acknowledge both sides and i am saying I don’t condone it. Also I realized I’m getting to deep so kinda got off topic/confused- don’t think too much or have this negative mindset, before your every chance. It goes both ways for guys and girls and not all ppl are the same, etc. Also relationships can start from super platonic relationships out of nowhere, even when you’re not looking for it. So just because you don’t “get ur foot in the…

Girls who are deemed “unattractive” have also been bullied too and there are sayings as “bros before hoes”, “hoes ain’t sh*t”, etc. So again, it’s not just either girls or guys. I’m not saying I know everything either, but I know I’ve seen it from both sides. I’m not sure where you’re coming from, but not all women say that, and on an individual basis, I can’t speak for all women. I can only say that just bc someone says that, doesn’t mean everyone believes that. This negative side of othering g…

It goes for both genders. Girls who are “unattractive” also don’t “get chances” too. They don’t get approached as often, and get bullied a lot as well.

.. You’re othering people when you say “the rest of you girls”. I know a lot of guys out there who are equally if not more shallow as you claim, and grouping a bunch of individuals together and generalizing all of them to a stereotyped negative thought isn’t justifiable either. It is stereotypically normative to judge and approach girls on the basis on physical looks. I’ve come across a lot of douchey/shallow guys who treat girls really poorly and like objects bc of their influenced ideology. Th…

If you’re talking about conventional beauty.. as a girl I’ve been attracted to guys who aren’t conventionally ”attractive”. When you get to know someone, their behavior, how they treat others around them, their personality/vibes can also be attractive, and if their personality sucks, it doesn’t matter how attractive they are physically, they are unattractive. The same stuff applies to girls too. Evidentially both guys and girls experience this, and I agree with OP that there are more things that…

When guys tell the girl directly that they’re interested in them it tells the girl you have a clear interest in them and makes them more receptive to what you do/say. (I think it speaks for itself) I personally find this really attractive. Using indirect/subtle cues/ hints of interest (at least for me) doesn’t make clear your intentions (of friendship or dating/starting a relationship.) this again speaks for itself. (i had a guy friend like this.) ofc there are other people who still may be rece…
