You can work on self acceptance and codependency. It all comes from insecurity. There is a deeper reason behind this pattern. Once you identify it you can work on changing it. This pattern has not and will not serve you well. You have the power to change it! It's awesome that you are reaching out for help and advice on this, that's half the battle.

The most important years of your life are right now. The fact that you're 23 and realizing how precious your time is puts you ahead of many people your age.
