Yup my brother is like this, we actually talk about FDS topics often and I’m just so glad I grew up with a male figure like that in my life because I know how rare it is. I think he’s the only person I’ve had the ‘not all men’ conversation with that doesn’t turn into a whiny asshole.

Read the sex work thread on Twitter and whew the amount of backlash it got. Asking sex workers to not cater to pedophiles and other harmful tropes is problematic huh🤔

For the longest time in most cultures, marriage served to benefit men to give them an heir and someone to pass property rights down to. Women were just the vessel for that. This is still the common reason for getting married where im from unfortunately. Girls as young as 12 are getting married to grown ass men. The more modern answer for your question would be about how generally in most households, both people work but the woman ALSO takes on most of the childcare, chores and emotional labour. …

I’m from a culture where FGM was heavily practised and still is and many of us women call it out. It’s really nuanced because the women back home are conditioned from a young age to see it as a sign of strength and almost good character? i.e, “She’s not a whore bc she had this done, she’s respectable, I will only marry women who have had this done” It is a slap in the face to reduce the abuse the women have faced from men in our culture for centuries to white imperialism. I’ve noticed a trend wh…

It’s a trend on Twitter. There’s a big account that posts the ‘wins’ and achievements of everyday women and another account for men. It’s a pretty wholesome thing.

I would never send a nude pic just bc it makes me uncomfortable. A simple nude I get why people want to send... but a nude SELFIE?? That is ridiculous, there is so much potential for revenge porn.

It really scares me just how often both gay and heterosexual couples travel to the global south to find a surrogate.

women are victim blamed for choosing bad men; yet when we actively decide to choose good men, were called eugenicists. The fact or the matter is, men do not want us to make choices. They have never wanted us to make choices. More importantly, they are afraid of our choices. wow spot on

The thing is, a lot of the french Muslim communities are refugees or immigrants. They don’t have the money or connections to start up in a new country which is unfortunate.

Women’s clothing should never be up for debate by the law. It’s wrong to force someone to wear the hijab but it’s also very wrong to force some to take it off. France’s islamophobia grew as a result of terrorist attacks which were all committed by men. Why are women suffering as a result? Back in the UK in 2016 during the rise of Islamophobia, there was a wave of acid attacks towards specifically Muslim women... but when you ask British far right groups why they are anti-Islam, the focus is alwa…

The ‘girls support girls’ movement is good for girls in middle school and high-school. That energy is needed bc there is so much sexism and toxic masculinity that is normalised. They need to reject the nasty stereotypes they are fed at a very young age about how girls are catty, etc. Also the wave of ‘not like other girls’ begins at that age. After that, we should be able to grow from that and engage in more radical feminism that questions why we make these choices and how your feminism empowers…

I started a whole community to women in a city once, and then got kicked out for being too feminist. This is pretty iconic lmao

That’s a decent excuse for when you’re 15 and under. Anything older is embarrassing, cleaning is not exactly rocket science, it’s extremely obvious what to do. As for cooking, google exists, YouTube exists. They just expect women to do it. Why do women keep setting up these excuses for men? :/

This is so funny. She’s not going to feel this way when it happens every single time and he rolls over to sleep. Also I hate that the discourse around this is being subtly changed. Most women just deal with it, the biggest problem is that these men also don’t do anything to get you off.

sounds like someone’s angry his father wasn’t in his life and is projecting onto his mom. This video is what I’m talking about when I complain about how the black community treats black women. There is no smoke for the man who quite literally left, these narratives are the accepted beliefs. I’m sorry but there is no one to blame for fatherless children other than the father leaving🤷🏾‍♀️.

I didn’t expect fawning praise but I did expect I guess a bit of gratitude that every meal was hot and no one ever had to ask what was clean?’ Nope. Instead you just got asked what ‘you do all day’. This is exactly what always puts me off from ever becoming a housewife because ultimately people do not value the labour of the job. Your future husband may at first respect it but surely resentment will start to kick in as if times get rough, they’ll think you’re leeching off of them. I’d much rathe…

The Organisation ‘Reclaim The Streets’ aimed to work with the MetPolice to make things Covid safe. The police refused. They vigil was peaceful all day and as soon as night came, they became violent. Maybe it’s because I’m still kind of young but I don’t know how people pour their hearts out at weddings through vows in front of everyone. It’s so intimate, I’m too awkward for that. I love seeing other people do it though, very sweet.

I always felt icky about male curfews because as a black woman, I thought this could just be another way to systemically oppress men of colour, white men would probably still be given some leeway. But then I realised I don’t care. All men are dangerous.

Parents project so much of their insecurities with skin colour onto their kids and it’s been so normalised in Asian/African communities. I got super tan one summer and my aunty basically called me out in front of everyone during a dinner and said I turned into coal... I was like 11yrs old.

I’ve seen this comment blasted all over uk Twitter recently and it just blows my mind. Do they really think sexual assault occurs only when a women is very attractive? How have they managed to miss the point that badly?? It doesn’t matter about attraction, it’s about power and control. Also... shoutout to all the Muslim women who cover up and you can barely see their faces. I guess they’ve never been sexually assaulted right? If only these idiots would actually LISTEN when women speak.

I would get called fat, ugly, stupid, and a slut literally everyday in 5 different ways. This is basically the female experience in highschool/secondary school. I genuinely stopped interacting with the males in my classes by the time I was 16.

This situation is so heartbreaking. Sarah Everard did everything women are ‘supposed’ to do to stay safe and yet she was still the victim of male abuse/murder. She wore bright clothing but still fully covered up, stuck to the main roads with bright street lights, called her BF just in case, etc. UK Twitter is blowing up about this case and finally a discussion is being held about women’s safety and the lack of accountability from men in society.

This is a common thing on Tik Tok and just in real life. They expect the worst from women who make jokes about men but when men make jokes about women, they extend a certain amount of trust in that he’s still a decent person. I saw a Tik Tok of a male friend reuniting with his friend group and his GF tagged along. All of the comments were from men shitting on his GF creating this narrative that she’s the reason why the BF doesn’t see his friends as much... It got so bad the BF had to step in and…

I feel as though in an effort to ‘empower’ women who make the choice to be SAHM’s, the lifestyle has now been romanticised and it’s destructive IMO. People are forgetting how common and easy it is to be controlled & abused if you are financially dependent on someone. I saw a video the other day of a SAHM being sent a cheque monthly from her husband for what is usually unpaid labour and the comments were full of hate/gold digger comments but in that case, I can support it.

Very accurate lol. “@why2425:it’s more about how it’s said. When that guy said it it was more about we all should generally do better. When you said it you were talking like you thought you were better then the rest of us”. When women speak with authority, they’re condescending, when men speak with authority, they’re leaders.

I shouldn’t be but I’m actually baffled at the audacity to twist this narrative and blame women. Women have been talking about the side effects of porn for fucking years and have been shat on but this guy comes along and is suddenly a hero for looking out for underage boys.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/03/21 02:54 AM

Wait are they really going to start blaming women for an industry that men control and specifically target poor girls? This is the biggest load of BS. I too have a problem with porn but I don’t direct my anger at women who are either forced into this industry or lack resources and support. These idiots see a few (already) privileged women get rich from porn and think it’s like that for everyone else. No most sex workers are absolutely poor and left with poor mental health, trauma and PTSD.

I don’t know how to explain my view on this. I like to pay for people and treat them... but I would not want to pay for a man that thinks women should pay? Is that dramatic? Men who demand women should pay usually do the wallet test and the whole ‘men and women are equal now’ spiel so it really turns me off and I just hate men like that. I’ve gone Dutch on dates before because it made me feel uncomfortable to let a man pay for me and tbh all it did was set the precedent for them being stingy.

The thing is, it’s not that hard to make sex an enjoyable experience for women. Men just consume so much awful content of a guy ramming his dick into a woman and think that’s all it takes.

submission to men is a family value in many cultures, it’s very had to unlearn. I want better for these women, sigh. In this case, black men intentionally masculinise black women who try to get rid of this concept. They call black women aggressive, competitive, destructive etc for refusing to submit and blame their unwillingness to submit for the marriage rates/out of wedlock births, etc. Some women believe they can win in this system if they follow all the demands.

I have worked in care homes for middle aged to elderly men and women who need extra daily support. The men’s spouses came to visit almost every single day, it was rare to see a woman get a visit from someone that wasn’t their offspring. It was so heartbreaking.
