I like video games. Met another girl who likes video games. This girl and I talked about how we should play. Initiated plans with her to play, which she agreed to. This is the example I mentioned where they made plans over our plans and then invited me to those plans instead. I'm struggling so much to see what I did wrong here.

I'm going into the work force in May, and I'm super afraid of not making connections even more so then. My last experience in the workplace was not terrible until someone I had gotten very close to betrayed me in a pretty horrific way. I don't understand how what I do gets me to the positions I find myself in.

Forgive me for not quite understanding, but I'm not sure what something I should bring to the group looks like. Can you give me an example of what you bring to the group? I've been struggling with similar issues. I've gotten off to great starts - taking genuine and authentic interest in other people, asking questions, initiating hanging out, etc. However, it seems that despite my efforts, often times my bids for friendship are not returned and the fact is, I am not interested in being involved in a one way friendship.
