Why be on the Left when modern leftism is a virulently anti-male movement?i don’t really care if it’s nature or nurture. it’s not like i think everyone should be banned from being masculine, i’m just saying that anyone who happens to fall outside the boxes of the traditionally masculine and feminine should be accepted. when i say “destroy the gender roles”, what i mean is “stop forcing people into gender roles”. as for the second point, i don’t know what to tell you. in my experience, feminists tend to at least try to be empathetic. i just think some of them are prese… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 13/07/22 12:45 AM
Why be on the Left when modern leftism is a virulently anti-male movement?i don’t choose my ideology based on my side, i choose my side based on my ideology. what i’m saying is that i choose to call myself a leftist because it best fits my ideology. as for the “modern liberal western thought” point, i don’t really know exactly what you’re talking about | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/06/22 05:26 AM
Why be on the Left when modern leftism is a virulently anti-male movement?i think the people who truly hate men are a vocal minority, but i think there’s a larger group of people on the left who: conflate being male with being conservative (i.e. assuming that men are the ones who want to overturn Roe V. Wade when in reality almost exactly 50% of the people who want to overturn Roe are women) don’t understand/think that traditionally men’s gender roles may place them above women in society, but they are still strict and that strictness is harmful and worth addressing d… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/06/22 02:06 AM
Thoughts on this?personally i get freaked out whenever i’m walking at night and i someone else is uncomfortably close, so i’d say that people in general shouldn’t do that, i don’t know why they specify men. like i’m not gonna say “oh i think that guys following me” “wait it’s a woman? nvm lmao, it’s all good” | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 20/06/22 04:14 AM
Why don't baby boys have "my foreskin, my choice"?to me, this isn’t a question of responsibility. I don’t think a woman who has unsafe sex deserves to need to give birth, that’s like saying someone who jaywalks deserves to get hit by a car. Could they have been more responsible? yes, but that doesn’t mean their life should be thrown like that. When it comes to the “committing harm vs providing help” thing i just fundamentally disagree. By banning abortions, lawmakers are actively going out of their way to prevent people from getting help. that’… | /r/MensRights | 04/05/22 07:52 AM
| -4 | Why don't baby boys have "my foreskin, my choice"?i’m coming at this from a US centric perspective, i don’t really know anything about other countries. Here most circumcisions happen while the child’s still a newborn, and most go off without a hitch. No impact on the child’s life except for the lack of foreskin. Again, non consensual body mutilation which is principally bad. Compare to someone who gets pregnant at a really bad time in their life. They would have to juggle all of their normal adult responsibilities on top of just being pregnant.… | /r/MensRights | 04/05/22 07:23 AM |
| -4 | Why don't baby boys have "my foreskin, my choice"?but for most circumcised guys it’s just an inconvenience right? (i genuinely don’t know) like, i don’t mean to minimize it, a violation of bodily autonomy is a violation of bodily autonomy and should be condemned but one of these seems clearly like the bigger problem here. It may not always be fatal or anything but 100% of people who go through childbirth… go through childbirth. | /r/MensRights | 04/05/22 07:08 AM |
| -1 | Why don't baby boys have "my foreskin, my choice"?i mean, carrying a child is a lot more impactful than losing a foreskin certainly. circumcision is weird but in terms of harm repealing roe is WAY bigger | /r/MensRights | 04/05/22 04:13 AM |
Can we talk about thisHe’s not saying the mental illness is nonexistent, he’s saying that when women express feelings of mental illness, it’s usually responded to with support, as opposed to “quit complaining” | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 11/10/21 06:55 PM
OxFam US pulls a Gillette for Father's DayI honestly think the conversation that the article brings up is a good one, but the fact that it's posted on a day that is specifically meant for the celebration of fatherhood is irritating. On mother's day, if I were to talk about how the vast majority of workplace injuries are men, I would be rightfully shut down because the day is meant to be a celebration of mothers | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 17/06/21 06:53 PM
Female privilege is when women are three times less likely to get killed than men, but the conversation focus 100% on women's safety !https://www.unodc.org/documents/gsh/data/GSH2013_Sex_data.xlsx I think this is what op was referencing, if you’re curious | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 16/03/21 01:00 AM
Careerist women are the exception, not the rule, so why are guys here focusing so much on them?I think expecting your partner to make less money than you is always manipulative because it creates a situation where that person relies on you for survival, so it’s harder to get out of that relationship. But I think I could be convinced that it’s ok if both people fully agree to it | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/02/21 06:27 PM
Careerist women are the exception, not the rule, so why are guys here focusing so much on them?Yes, expecting someone to make less money than you but also pay for half of everything is incredibly hypocritical and a major red flag | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/02/21 06:18 PM
Careerist women are the exception, not the rule, so why are guys here focusing so much on them? What I was talking about above is a broad societal pressure reflected in media everywhere; the idea that “being bested destroys your warrior pride.” If asked, most men would probably say that they’re ok with being beaten at something because they don’t want to be a sore loser, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t an amount of shame associated with it. Not wanting to pay for every date, however, is more of an individual choice. Some men see the idea that men are supposed to pay for every date and th… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/02/21 06:06 PM
Careerist women are the exception, not the rule, so why are guys here focusing so much on them?I don’t like the concept of saying that you “failed as a man” if a woman makes more than you. I don’t think it’s healthy to stake your success on how much money you make, especially when you’re comparing yourself to others | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/02/21 04:30 PM
Careerist women are the exception, not the rule, so why are guys here focusing so much on them?A big part of conventional masculinity is competition, being beat by a woman in something makes you “less of a man.” It’s messed up but I don’t think there’s any one party you can really blame for it | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/02/21 09:11 AM
What are your thoughts on "pick me" women?Same as with men. If they’re just trying to be desirable in a healthy way, it’s fine. If they’re throwing away their self respect, there’s a problem | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/02/21 09:07 AM
