Not much you can do if you don’t know what was said. If she comes out of the woodwork and says something stupid you can prove is actually false, to a third party or online, you can consider a defamation claim. But they are expensive to litigate. Probably best to just put behind you until you have something concrete that needs addressing.

You’ll be throwing away money if you hire a lawyer now, but if you can get a free consult go for it. She can try, but if she let you off the lease and you never paid rent to start with she’ll have a hard time. And a lawyer will tell her. She’ll need to put up a few grand to do it.

This is true but women and men would both be better off being more careful about early warning signs before jumping in. If your boyfriend is lazy and doesn’t want to help around the house, despite you earning as much or more than him and working as hard or harder (which applies to many lady lawyers) you are not going to have better luck when marriage and the kids come. Likewise, your girlfriend won’t be improving her habits upon marriage either. There are other factors and each case is different…

Problem is that cousin is doing this to get a rise out of your wife, and she probably realizes that. So she can’t say anything to her lest she let on that it is bothering her. You need to take cuz aside in a neutral situation and gently raise this and let her know you like hanging out but the physical affection makes you very uncomfortable.

I am a lawyer and it varies by state but a few states do have two party laws that have very few exceptions and apply broadly to everyone. It is a felony in some states to record your own calls without the other party’s consent. Be careful when you record.

That really sucks. But it seems like you really have a healthy attitude towards all of it and you did a good step in protecting yourself. Make sure you research recording laws before you reference the recordings to anyone. There are a few states where it can be a felony to record without both parties’ knowledge. Its an unpopular opinion. But 16 year olds are a lot different than 12 year olds. I guess I should have been clear that I think a cut off of 18 is arbitrary and not reflective of reality. No, you can prove she made those statements. She will need to establish truth as a defense. There are probably numerous holes in her story that can be introduced as evidence—emails, phone records, texts (and you can get hers in discovery). It sounds like you can establish damages and she has the means to pay. Talk to your lawyer.
