Seriously. Smart women don't like to be called chicks, for starters.

When I was 21-28 I was doing this. I was in college full time and working full-time. My bf didn't have a job. I dressed super vintage, lots of cute eye liner etc and he wore clothes baggy old clothes. Once a bus driver called him out and literally said 'What are you doing? You are with her? You need to step it up. Look at her." Thanks bus driver man!

Him: I will however, whilst we are making requests could I ask you please to accept that my towel in the bathroom is not for your use. Twice after you have had a bath, I've found my towel wet and moved. Its not yours and there is no reason for you to use it. I'm not trying to start an argument, i'd just like you to respect my belongings please. Men like this always have to "get something in return' if they agree to do something basic, like properly cleaning something they already agreed to clean…

I once worked with a guy who openly admitted to doing this. He would perform basic tasks like cleaning or restocking so poorly no one ever asked him to do it again. That was his goal. Of course he was given the best shifts and got a larger chunk of the tips, patriarchy style.

I think about this all the time. Every woman I know has financially supported at least one boyfriend/husband. Usually while she did all the cooking, cleaning, shopping & childrearing. Myself included. I don't know any man who has done the same for a girlfriend/wife.

A random man on OKC had a profile that said "I'm looking for a brunette, blue eyes, with a waist to hip ratio of 0.7 because that's what I jerk off to." Gross, dude.

It's almost quaint that they think rapists "just need to get laid". Plenty of rapists have girlfriends/wives. Martial rape was legal up until the 90's in the US. So either we are raped as wives, raped as prostitutes or raped as strangers. Excellent choices. There is no version of reality this man can imagine where some women aren't being raped.

The idea of men as hunters/breadwinners isn't accurate. In nearly all traditional societies women gather the majority of consumed calories. Of course women do all the cooking, fire tending, shelter building and child rearing, too. Men do hunt but instead of bringing back small game regularly they pursue high-risk large game in order to impress the ladies. In other words, the motivation seems to be to impress women rather than providing calories for the family/tribe. (One major exception here is …

I studied evolutionary biology and have absolutely had men try to mansplain this to me. It's so lazy and sexist. They cherry pick a few sciency sounding terms and think that makes them experts. 🙄

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
