I'm in a near constant disconnect from reality and have a personality issue that affects socialising so status isn't really something I've ever considered, but I'll take your word for it in this case. I really struggle to care about people based on authority or status (which occasionally gets me into a lot of trouble, ha), so I'm sorry if I seem difficult or annoying about it.

Being ineffective or having a less than desirable effect.

To be honest, I've had both male and female friends and family treat me as their provider, in that they expected me to give them money and emotional support on demand. Due to my upbringing as an eldest child, I was to act as provider and support for both my parents and my siblings (I'm not sure if this is a cultural thing too) and so I'm accustomed to that role. I think it is a heavy role that would ideally be shared between partners. From what I've seen in my brief skim of sociology and gender …

This seems like a lot of broad generalisations about women. I will agree with the respect aspect, as I don't think I would love my boyfriend if I didn't value him, but I don't see anything wrong with a give and take relationship. My boyfriend frequently buys me things even though I ask for nothing. I am very grateful for every gift I receive because I cherish his offers of generosity and I think it is a kind thing to do. I buy him surprise gifts too. I don't think that has negatively impacted ou…

So the concept of failure is never considered, nor the various other variables surrounding the relationship?

I have the feeling that this is cultural, because I've rarely encountered that or felt the need to be that way. It seems like a destructive and unhealthy way to maintain a relationship.

Well I've never really worried or cared about that, so maybe that's why I don't quite get it.

I don't know, the post I was replying to seemed to imply that not having complete control is a cause for resentment. And gender roles in my family were "reversed". My mother made the decisions and lead the family because in her culture that is what women do, and their relationship hasn't particularly suffered for that. I have no doubt that my father and mother love each other.

Is this behaviour really that common though? I don't see it all too often. The only time my partner ever has to be in control is when I'm having issues focusing or when I'm making strange and impulsive decisions, but that is due to my personality and mental disorders causing a complete disconnect from reality. Otherwise the relationship is has a fair amount of balance between us, as we often calmly discuss what we expect and what needs to be done. He doesn't seem miserable when I ask about somet…

He also told me that I was free to leave, and I have explained that I would be extremely upset if he went. But I respect his autonomy and ability to make his own decisions, which is why I told him that.

I told my partner to leave me were he to want to be with another woman, so I don't really understand implicit dread game. I don't fear being left on my own because it is something that happens, and I wouldn't be too bothered if I was never with another human being for the rest of my life. Maybe this is somehow dread game? But I don't feel dread, so I don't understand. I think we are equally attractive so I don't know. I also misread your question. I mean any tactic that might be worth reconsider…

I haven't ventured far into RPW but I am aware that it is a completely different animal, but having seen that TRP seems to primarily utilise dread game in LTR makes me uneasy about the effectiveness and appropriateness of it. Forced insecurity can be damaging to a relationship, and in my own case it will cause either complete failure (as I have a habit of fleeing during stress) or give rise to a potentially dangerous situation due to my mental state. It simply cannot be feasible in every relatio…

I honestly have seen more red pill short term advice than long term advice in general when I've read through the manosphere, so I assume that is what is mostly encouraged, particularly with the "never settle, fuck everything you want and cheating is fine if you do it" attitude that has popped up around the place. Maybe I am just ignorant to what they seem to encourage regarding LTR goals as a result, because I don't see a lot of it.

Mostly dread game. For one reason or another, most of my childhood friends with divorced parents seem to describe dread game tactics as having occurred and caused the separation. Particularly in the case of my longest and closest friend, having witnessed the behaviour first hand.

This pretty much sums up what I feel. I am not attracted to male red pill behaviour and neither is my youngest sister, because we don't like the associated attitude in a partner and find "feminine" and flamboyant traits in men more attractive. The main issue that bars the acceptance of what I suppose you'd call beta females is the idea that AWALT and therefore alternative romantic ideals can be ignored. I don't know how I'm supposed to tell a red piller that I don't like alphas when they already…

I'm sorry but our opinions just vastly differ on this. I am happy with the relationship I have, but I don't feel entitled to it. I can work hard at keeping him happy, making sure our time together is enjoyable, and be considerate of the impact that clear communication has between us, but I don't deserve the relationship just because I want it and put effort into it. I have a relationship because we both decided we'd like to have one. That's it. I don't even think sex and relationships are import…

Those types of feelings don't register to me. I've never thought that I had the right to anything, but that's probably because my view on humanity is vastly different to yours. I exist. I exist in a world where other autonomous creatures exist. What I would like won't always positively interact with what other people would like. I don't deserve anything for the simple virtue of existing, and neither does anything else. The best I can hope for is that my actions will benefit me, and that other pe…

Strange, I thought "wanting" and "deserving" were two completely different words. Most people want, hope and wish. They don't deserve. People who deserve are treated as social outcasts.

I've never lost respect for a man, let alone any other human being, for showing weakness. The mind is fragile and easily damaged. I've seen my partner cry, I know he has anxiety, I know his fears and worries. I am glad he feels he can trust me enough to show me these things. I don't understand why such a thing as common as weakness would make me love him any less. It doesn't make sense to me.

People I like and people I don't like, that's how I categorise people. I don't like people who are full of shit, I like people who are pleasant. Pleasant people are more valuable to me. Doesn't matter what their background is to me.

Less a lion and more a stray dog. There's nothing noble or vicious about the red pill. Shuffling around looking for something to have sex with is far from dignified.

Evolutionary psychology is a shaky topic at the best of times and should be taken with a grain of salt, particularly if you don't actively study it.

I'm more or less alright with how you view the red pill because it removes the pseudo-intellectual aspect. When people try to move it past what it is, which is more or less a basic sexual discussion, I get annoyed with them. And there's a lot of those people.

When you start using studies to try and support yourselves then you are really, really pushing it, considering that most of you wouldn't have even made it past the paywall.

I've toyed with different personalities to make both men and women love me, so I can't say I wholly agree that one shoe fits all. There is the high possibility that my experience is biased due to my gender and disinterest in women sexually, but on the whole I'd struggle to say "do this and they're guaranteed to want to fuck you!"

The red pill is just a bunch of people pretending to know psychology without studying it, are purely motivated by a shallow desire for sex and sex alone, and are willing to make shit up to support themselves. So I view them as incomplete human beings. Incomplete in the sense that a child hasn't yet developed into an adult. I'd like someone to convince me that they aren't just incapable of foresight or broader understanding, but I've yet to our encounter anything to change my mind.

Every opinion voiced on this sub is a personal one, I thought that much was obvious. I am going to relate to this on a personal level because I have personally experienced it. The brilliant thing I've learnt is that a personality can be finely tuned for each individual. After speaking to someone for a few minutes and getting a grasp on who they are, I can guess what type of person they'd respond best to and become that for a while. Dark triad traits aren't the only thing that women can be attrac…

I am a psychopath. I know what being a psychopath feels like. I can't speak for sociopaths because I haven't been identified as one. It infuriates me because I need to have psychotherapy, CBT, counselling and medication to come close to any sense of normalcy. I still casually manipulate people into achieving the outcome I want, and it's so exhausting for me that I can't be around people for long periods of time. And yet, "it's attractive, so pretend you're one too!" is a thing? Fucking really?

I want to know why dark triad is supposedly the best thing ever, and why it's even included in that pseudo-intellectual bullshittery of a sexual strategy. If that has no place here, then the moderators are free to delete my comments.

Mother Teresa? Why? It pisses me off when I see people advocating dark triad or trying to be dark triad, so I said why it pisses me off. It's not something to be taken so fucking lightly as to use it to try and have sex. It's disgustingly obnoxious to even put it on that level. If I've misunderstood why people seem to want to be dark triad, then just tell me instead of having a little fit about it.

Dunno why you people think being psychopaths/sociopaths is cool. Have you ever looked someone in the eye, as they begged and pleaded with you for the right to live, and just felt absolutely nothing? Or watched your friends and family break down and cry and just feel nothing but a passing curiosity? Or seen a loved one plead and beg for an ambulance, but felt no sense of urgency? And have you ever felt the sheer impact of realisation when it's revealed to you that, perhaps, your behaviour is abno…

I don't think about the world in terms of red and blue, and I don't care about what delusion you choose to follow. The only reason I pay attention is because it's adorable to watch the painfully mundane try to be something more, and failing to understand why they still aren't happy.

I wouldn't bother trying to explain it. Half of these people don't even understand statistics. For some unknown reason they also think that despite lacking the appropriate educational background, they know how to interpret peer reviewed papers without actually reading them. So basically they're deliberately doing this to themselves and they aren't going to learn because it's inconvenient.

Generalisations are fine when considering a group of people, but it's just best to not try and apply them on a personal, individual level.

It typically means you either have an emotionally damaged woman who's using sexual partners to replace the void of her father, or there is such a large imbalance in power that it is sacrificing the needs of one person for the other and so becomes progressively more abusive. Or maybe both. Doesn't that sound wonderful?

You need to consider potential variations from the set path you've created. I am completely fucked in the head, and have a cluster A personality disorder as well as mental illness and signs of psychopathy. By default I will not fit into most diagrams because I am clinically abnormal. Alpha men have been interested in me and I have rejected them. I reject them because there is no way such a person would be able to accommodate me. I am naturally attracted to flamboyant bisexuals, cross dressers an…
