one of my friends is hopelessly head over heels for a man almost ten years older than us who has a very young child in another state, where he and the mom both live. for the life of me i can’t understand why she thinks he’s such a catch and each time we talk i hope she doesn’t bring him up but she insists on continuing to date him. i just know one day she’s going to regret wasting time on him because even she has admitted that she doesn’t like that he has a kid but she just will not cut him loos…

or my favorite, when you send a lengthy text detailing how he hurt you and he responds with, “that doesn’t sound like me”

starting a conversation with “you women” great strategy, jacob. you’re gonna get all the wimminz with that one.

it absolutely slays me when they say something along the lines of “i can get anybody” when you reject them. if you can really get anyone why are you still here bothering me?

my absolute favorite is when they say “he could propose with a ring pop and i’d be happy!” okay, girl. keep telling yourself that. i think in a world where women are constantly fed the message that we aren’t complete without a husband, there will always be women insisting they don’t require much so that some man who has no intention of giving/doing much will snatch them up and they don’t have to be single. it’s unfortunate, and it does absolutely nothing to benefit them, and i hope their relatio…

men know this holiday comes around every year, they know what women expect. he couldn’t be bothered to make it a special day for you. i can tell you probably don’t want to cut him off, i know how that feels, and i hope you know i’m saying this with love because i had my own shitty experience with a guy this weekend. he didn’t put forth the bare minimum for you, and it was your first valentines together. that, if anything, should be when he does the absolute most. and he didn’t. you’re probably b…

are you me? i had a falling out with a very dear male friend in college because he was justifying SA on a girl who got into a stranger’s car hoping for a ride home. i could not believe my best friend, who i’d spent so much time with, had gotten drunk with, went on trips with, had that mentality. it shocked me so much i cut off contact that very day; we haven’t spoken since that conversation, even though that was back in 2017. we went from near daily communication to 0 communication overnight bc …

i definitely think i’m gonna be alone forever. it takes some getting used to coming to that conclusion because i want to me married and a mom so bad. but the way i see it, i’d rather be single forever than to put up with a man’s bullshit just so i can say i have a man. i’m super pessimistic anyway so i really don’t think i’ll ever find a man who i think i could spend a happy lifetime with, and if that never happens, it just never happens. but i certainly won’t settle and potentially compromise m…

my initial reaction was similar to yours but after a while i decided not to focus on him and focus on her. she is a brilliant woman and she seems like she knows what she wants. she could’ve had a baby with anyone (she was dating a billionaire not too long ago) but for reasons we probably won’t ever know she chose asap. if she’s happy (and she seems like she is) i’m happy!

re: not being upfront about what you’re looking for, how would you approach the “what are you looking for?” question? i always thought that was best to weed out men who aren’t on the same page (that’s me trusting that they’ll be honest, naive lady over here). but i also don’t want to lie and say i’m looking for something casual

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
