That tit-for-tat attitude is so toxic to a relationship, reminds me of my tax classes and learning about the different profit/capital sharing arrangements that partnerships can make. Do you know your wife's basis on the partnership? Did you fill out the k-1 and attach the supporting schedules? Did you send this year's working papers to the marriage counselor and report the separately started income? Jesus, nothing more romantic or loving that, right?

I'm about to start a busy season at work, and wanted to do the same thing for when I'm working late. Would you mind sharing some of the things that freeze well?

If you feel you have a strong connection to someone and you both feel ready to take that step, whether it's before or after three months, I say go for it. Agreed, depending on how often you see each other, a strong connection may take time to develop. It could be a few weeks, or a few months. Plus, there's so much you can do besides actual intercourse if you don't feel ready for it, but still want to foster physical intimacy.

Okay, so it's not unfair of her to ask him for help sometimes. It's normal for an older parent to need help. It's just the timing that's obviously meant to throw off your plans. I saw something online the other day about how in the cardinal rule in nursing homes and assisted living facility is that you never do something for a resident that they could do themselves. Seems like a good rule of thumb when/if you decide to bring up needing boundaries.

I was also a little disturbed where the article said women can be annoying like a dripping faucet, women can be nags, as if that's on a par with physical violence. I don't know. Doesn't sit right with me. Agree with this 100%. Not condoning either form of abuse, but at least when it's emotional you can remove yourself and (hopefully) not have to fear physical harm. Neither men nor women should use physical abuse to stop mental abuse.

Does she have any valid reason to always be asking for help? Like does she not have a drivers license, wheelchair bound, etc? Or is it always something small, like changing a lightbulb or help with the computer? Are these things something the husband could do? Is she very old? Has he seen how your parents are with you? Maybe he doesn't know what a normal healthy parent/adult child relationship should look like. This is a tough situation and I wish I had better advice for you.

Tj maxx has cheap sleep shorts and tank tops, nighties, etc. Sex shops have great stuff like thigh high stockings and thongs for cheap too.

That's completely understandable and a part of vetting. They become your family too, and if it's a big issue like this, you'll want to make sure it's resolved, or he's at least working on it.

Chances are, he's already annoyed at her for being so needy. This is something he needs to deal with on his own, and he'll appreciate you being there for him, when he eventually does make the decision to limit contact or set boundaries with her. He'll know that he made the decision to stand up for himself on his own, with no influence from you. I decided to go no contact with my narcissistic step mom 2 years ago, because I saw a future with her inserting herself constantly into my relationship a…

I think a lot of it is true for most women. For example, wanting a guy to take charge, being confident/assertive, guys not really caring about how smart you are, shit tests are real, and the rationalization hamster. Not a believer that women are naturally less mature and want to be treated like children. I think for some women that's true, it would be nice to never have to be accountable for your mistakes, but the women who they're picking up in bars and on tinder probably aren't the most well r…

This seems plausible. Even when I was a senior in high school, I remember the senior boys going after freshman because they were so impressionable and easy to manipulate into sleeping with them. It's all about power over someone and validation, having a dirty little secret. Its a completely one sided relationship where the older person is never challenged, never called out on their shit, and never has to contribute anything. Perfect for a narcissistic individual.

Agreed, no one likes a backseat driver. Maybe he feels like he's being a burden on you, or that you resent him for making you drive him around, so he's going on the offensive. (This line of thinking doesn't seem like something a guy would have so chime in/correct me if I'm wrong) OP, maybe let him know that you don't mind, as it's more time you get to spend together, or something along those lines, that let's him know that it's not a burden on you. Just don't come off as condescending.

What do you guys fight about? When we first moved in together, my husband and I usually fought about domestic issues. I viewed our conflicts as him being an a-hole, and he viewed as me trying to get out of responsibilities by pulling the crying card. Now though, for example, if I've been slacking on housekeeping, and he gets frustrated, I stay calm, explain why I haven't been keeping up, and make a compromise. For example, "I'm sorry I haven't done laundry in a while, I had a couple of exams thi…

I have the same issue. My husband is bipolar, and handles it well, but he doesn't make any effort to quiet himself or keep to himself when he's upset. One thing I've found, is that usually (even if I'm the reason he's frustrated or annoyed), he gets over it in a few minutes. But if I get mad at him for being mad, it never helps. I leave the room, or take my dog for a walk. When I come back, usually he's calmed down to the point where I can ask him if he's feeling better/is everything ok/can I do…

Agreed, I worked as a server/bartender, and I have never felt that a guy leaving a large tip was trying to hit on me. If anything, it felt like he was trying to impress the girl he was with by being nice to the wait staff. Its so cringey for a guy to think giving me more money is going to make me want him.

I think you're spot on about the German bluntness. I lived in Germany for a year, and they really don't speak in a way that always carries a deeper meaning/insult. It was actually really refreshing to not have to worry about reading between the lines.
