If you are in a position of power, however, the age of consent raises to 18. Reacting with hate is then often used as evidence to prove the point that men are oppressors. It’s belittling and insensitive to the points we are trying to raise. I’ve been lucky that at uni and now in my profession (78% female) the extreme feminist is honestly quite rare (at least in Australia.) It says “men’s rights and anti-feminism are increasingly becoming a slip road to the far right, appealing to young men feeling emasculated.” All the comments here seem to take so much offence to that, but I think it’s a fair statement. If young men are feeling shunned by society, they will try to find a sense of belonging. 2	There are more of male victims of sexual assault and 80% of the perpetrators are women. Why on earth do we see it as a female issue. Imagine the reporting if the genders were reversed? You would hear national newsworthy stories of WA, I’m saying it’s not news worthy outside of WA.
