I guess I’m not as good at sorting through my thoughts, so I end up feeling frustrated that someone is trying to play the arguing game with me and I just want to be nice and talk to my Reddit friends. :) I don’t like the fighting part.

Yeah, I get that. I don’t actually know why she’s here and she is being unfair to you. Calling you a “mansplainer” while “womansplaining” is gaslighting. Sometimes I think I should stay out of convos like this on Reddit, but her philosophy on women not being able to make choices regarding their sexuality is condescending and sex-shaming. Makes me mad.

Hahahahaha WATCH IT BUD. 😝 there’s also plenty of rational women out here!

Agree to disagree. I have plenty of friends who don’t want relationships. Consent is key, though!

Not sure, but that doesn’t change the fact that he is seeking casual hook-ups with women who are seeking casual hook-ups. May not be your thing, and that’s fine 🙂

Well, they are adult women (this sub sometimes doesn’t give us enough credit to take care of ourselves) looking for the same thing he’s looking for. Doesn’t sound messy - sounds like fun. Perhaps this is similar to a situation you have experienced that DID end up messy, so you’re reading into it? There are lots of people who view sex as a fun activity that doesn’t have to be tied to romantic love. Especially for people like me who are aromantic. There’s a lot of nuance out in the world when it c…

I have a similar mentality, but I still deal with a lot of romeos and juliets. Does it ever backfire on ya?

I love your thoughts here. I think the moral superiority and prudishness of a lot of resistors is kind of strange.

Aww, I disagree. Maybe for monogamous relationship-seeking women, but there’s plenty of other women who are happy to have friends with benefits or a short fling, but aren’t interested in dating either. He sounds straightforward and honest with his intentions, PLUS has a life that’s different and interesting.

It sounds like you’re trying to maybe arouse your body while your brain is feeling anxious instead? Do you feel horny during it? Or are you worried about what she will think?

I feel like you’re right - suggestion a direct jump from where you’re currently at to directly approaching strangers is not helpful. The thing about this whole subreddit that makes me want to chime in as a woman is that there are SO MANY different types of people out there, and giving feedback may be helpful from the perspective of a “conventionally attractive” yet shy woman. No matter how charming and handsome and smooth someone is, there is practically nothing that can make me feel comfortable…

Ahh, I got it. I think it's a bummer that FWB isn't a more acceptable friendship style, because there's usually some underlying worry that someone will catch feelings. In reality, it's really nice to be comfortable enough to hang out and be silly while also cuddling or hooking up or however far that line goes naturally, and not having the expectations of becoming romantic. Sometimes the friendship and physical chemistry is there and the romance factor isn't! I know it's kind of a scary subject t…

Well there's a difference between sexual chemistry and romantic chemistry. Is it a FWB-type crush or a romantic crush? Sounds like the former to me. Could be a fun friend to play with and not necessarily date, if that's something he is open to?

Sure, but curling 5 pounds daily is healthier by far than giving up. I'm old school, though, and think people respond better to kindness than insults.

Oof - majorly disagree with you. Confidence IS built. Every time you try something you're afraid of and the worst case scenario doesn't come true (or if it does and you survive!) it gets easier. Idk, maybe that's just my opinion, but bashing shy guys who are making an effort doesn't seem like you're really even trying to help?

I'm so intrigued by your comments and have been reading through them. I definitely agree with both of these. At least personally, I pick up on little cues that make me feel, idk, almost like prey. There's a huge safety element at play. Maybe there's also a bit of a personality preference that some guys on here are running into? Just a though, but if you're looking for help with seduction, it could be that you are more of a quiet or shy guy. Even just from watching "nerds" in movies - they usuall…

To be fair, I did admit that I didn't know the real answer! I can admit it when I'm called out for being a little Hermione Granger know-it-all, though. Wouldn't be the first time lol. I did just want to help, though - not trying to confuse anybody.

Hi!! Idk if there's an official answer, but here's what I think. Pretend we are on a date, okay? I like ice cream, so let's go get some. PUSH Goal: make your heart race, make you feel flustered and maybe even slightly shocked. Methods: I'm small, bubbly, and am more in the "adorable" category than sexy. So for me, being directly sexual can have this effect. Also, playfully teasing can work here too. I love to play up innocence, so that might mean accidentally letting my ice cream drip onto my ch…
