I'm boring. If you want to stay, stay. If you want something else, leave. That's that. There's no middle ground. It's not about my self worth in regards to the relationship, or some imaginary scale of worthiness, it's about my self worth in my OWN eyes. Becoming someone else's available option number 2 sounds way more terrible than staying alone. I like myself way too much to do this to myself.

As a eastern european myself, I'll say it how it is - the macho culture comes with its minuses. Especially in slavic cultures, so many men become aggressive and involved in drugs / dangerous behavior, that the cons outweigh the pros. I am married to a russian man and I have it "easy", because he is Liberal in contrast to his culture. It takes a strong woman to have a relationship with a strong man. Don't believe anyone who says otherwise. From time to time you have to show your teeth so they res…

As a mom of two, no person is ready for a child, and most aren't ready even when the baby is born. I sure wasn't. Only now, when my oldest is 2,5 years old, I'm slowly becoming a mom. Maybe I have super high standards. But anyways, such a drastic change requires a lot of time to get used to.

I mean, how difficult is it to ask your girlfriend to take your nude picture with her phone, if it's a peer pressure thing to do and your kid will tread over mountains just to comply? Teenagers are extremely smart and witty. It's best to have a ton of important discussions about these problems. With my boys in going to be straightforward - we're going to get them several books on physical and moral implications of sex, on contraception, and even a simple book about ways of being a good partner i…

We don't really have a specific threshold, but I guess I'd discuss purchasing whatever is around 5% of the overall income mark, discuss anything from 2,5-5% and freely buy whatever is under that mark. I'm super frugal and a minimalist, so I don't usually buy a lot, but when I do, husband trusts me as I'm a homemaker and he appreciates my work. And, by being mindful of the finances, I show that I respect his work, too!

I'm not sure what you're trying to say? You have to love what you have, but you also must work on making it better. And the best way to start, is by being mindful of your surroundings, and start learning about taking care of them. It's not as simple as it seems.

I am a sahm and about to have our second child. Husband manages the finances and pays the bills, because I literally don't have time to open the laptop during the day. As he often times has breaks at work when there are less projects to do, he gets that done. We always discuss big purchases or plan our financial goals, so to say, but he also sends me money for groceries and random things. For example, I bought plants today, some medicine and clothes, and I don't really need to be accountable abo…

I was a very tomboyish girl for the first 15 years of my life, partly because I felt like my dad wanted to have a son, and was teaching us everything he'd teach his sons to do, if he had them. So it was difficult to go through puberty and accepting my differences. Honestly, sort yourself out and don't think about rpw or whatever now. Spend time to learn about yourself. What do you like? What makes you happy? What doesn't make you happy? Find your hobbies and stop trying to put yourself in a box.…

As a European, it's also a byproduct of the lacking American maternity leave. I get goosebumps thinking about going back to work at 8 weeks post partum. It seems inhumane to the parents and the child, and especially for the woman who has been through so much physically and emotionally. Let's not even talk about lack of sleep and having to be in your top shape for doing your work well. It's insane. I'm a sahm for 3 years now and about to have a second baby. I'll be honest, some days I'd rather ha…

Honestly, it's the most upvoted comment of all. Are you trying to feel antagonised? If so, you'll always see someone who disagrees. Who cares about them? Most of the people support your opinion.

I've LIVED in Russia. The issues of the economic growth are based in corruption, systemic theft and well executed propaganda to keep everyone from throwing down the regime. It's such a western thinking from your side, that "competent people" get a chance to choose what they do or don't wish to support. Russia has a system that destroys small businesses, has an extreme pay inequality and the only thing that keeps it together is the fact, that propaganda works. So whatever you were trying to prove…

I don't work. He's the sole provider. I'm a sahm of a toddler and 35 weeks pregnant with our second. I don't hire outside help. Only with handy work, as we don't want him to spend his free time doing stuff around the house, when family is a bigger priority. Have I considered hiring someone for my chores? Yes, why not. Especially with more difficult stuff (washing the windows). Division of labor gets decided based on what's happening. Currently I'm 35 weeks pregnant with chronic pain, and dealing…

In your 20s, a six year difference is quite large. Him being 27 and telling you all these things, when you are 21, seems like a manipulation tactic. Honestly, I can't imagine why you should accept this behaviour. You can't change people, but you shouldn't let them step all over you, either. And what's the rush with marriage at 21? Why not give the relationship a bit more time, so you can be sure he's the right person and with the right attitude, and has your best interests in mind?

I believe you can't change other people, honestly. If rpw is a manipulation tactic to get your man to behave the way you want, it's not really cool (and I don't think you were doing this) . And it's not gonna work. You can't make a bird into a tractor. If you do it to be the best possible version of yourself - and for Yourself, first of all - then it's great. I mean, most of the ideas from RPW are basic human values. I am currently studying a lot of Buddhism and I see these things even there. Be…

Quite honestly, I feel like this can't be just a bedroom issue. Because it's not a technical problem, it's an attitude problem. When someone is basically masturbating into you (unless stuff like free use is your kink) and not giving back, it's just plain old being selfish. And I haven't yet seen relationships where selfishness has been present in just one life area. This always seeps into other situations and choices. Regarding the technical side, it's understandable that having an orgasm is a h…

It can seem confusing, obviously, because there are no red lines in most relationships regarding chores, kids, etc. There are other defined borders within relationships, but mostly day to day doings are divided, by taking into the account the situation. Like, if I had a broken leg, just because I'm the housewife, would that mean I still should be vacuuming? I sure hope not. If my husband would need to take sick time that would lessen our income, I wouldn't nag him about that. In various situatio…

My approach is kindness. I am a SAHM, hugely pregnant and with a toddler. We both do our best, just to get through this. Having to young kids is not the time to start pointing out faults or things that the other must've done or should've telepathically known to do. I do my best to take care of the home, dealing with clothes, buying stuff for kids, organizing events, birthdays, etc, cooking. But he would easily do all of that as well, if I'd be feeling unwell. And being on a modified bedrest, I f…

Well, I'll definitely put a huge importance to sexual education. We're planning on having the talk early, giving both of our kids several books on the matter of sexuality, not just in terms of not getting pregnant, but in being a considerate partner. It should be enjoyable for both. No matter if they choose a woman or a man as their partner, I want them to have a good and safe start in their life. And regarding dating, mostly I think it will be my husband's part. As he is absolutely a great husb…

I'm about to have our second boy. Honestly, I'm not concerned with teaching my boys to be men. What I'm concerned with is raising them to self sufficient and kind people. We do all the housework together. My two year old already knows how to make pancakes. He is able to put laundry in the washer, and put it in the dryer afterwards. Basically, everything I do, he does. Both of us, me and my husband, are emotionally always there for him. No teaching not to cry or fuss. Emotions happen, better lear…

I don't know, guys. Imho, marriage and long term relationship requires you both to be sexually compatible. The reason I married my husband, is because no matter what, there is that biological want to have him. Just because he is a good friend or a good partner, it's not enough. We've been together for 9 years now and through thick and thin, two pregnancies, kids, etc. But I still want him and he still wants me. I really love a simple marinated chicken, veg and rice. Put chicken filets in mayo, with Paprika, garlic and onions. Add bell pepper, cut into slices. Let it either marinate for a whole night, if you feel like it, or just put it in a crock pot. Fry it first, then just slow cook for a bit. In the meantime, get rice ready. Suppppper tasty and easy.

Sadly it's not that. She's been through menopause in her 40s and is on constant medication for her hormonal levels. She has those checked on a regular basis. I guess it's just her opinion that she knows what's best.

Thank you for your advice. I'm planning on having a bit less contact with my mom, because frankly, I'm very upset. She even started criticizing my husband on his ability of keeping a home (as in, doing repairs, etc). That was really nasty to hear, because it's bullshit. I don't care about dumb crap like sink filters when our top priority is to just have some peace, have a good time.

Apparently setting boundaries is the correct way. I hope it helps. I told my husband, once again, that I have his back and honestly, if I have to choose between having a good relationship with my husband and my kids, or with my mom, I'll better choose my husband. My mom will have to accept that I'm not allowing this bullshit to just slide. She's always talking about how women are better nurturers, etc, but honestly, that's crap. People parent differently. That's all..

My mom.. I guess, her ability to empathize with others is sometimes used against other people, when she feels she's in the right. Honestly, it may sound crazy, but all of this situation has made me feel a lot more sympathetic towards men who have to deal with women like that. It's frustrating. I feel gaslighted to the point of being totally confused.

That's the thing. I'm totally on my husbands' side. I explicitly told him that. " my husband is amazing and any advice you may have for or about him is frankly unwanted and disrespectful, especially being a guest under his roof. " that's a great way to put it. I'll keep it in my mind. Thanks!

I think you all need to take a break from each other and only see each other in small amounts. I don't have my MIL over anymore and we just see each other in public for lunch and stuff just because she won't be polite or nice unless there's other people around. At the very least, she shouldn't be invited to come stay and help out if this is how she considers helping. That's what I've decided to do. Sounds just like my mom. My parents also have a traditional marriage, been married 32 years now. But this nagging thing is pretty crazy. I don't know how my dad deals with it on a regular basis. Especially since it's 95% unimportant, tiny things. I hate having arguments or discussions about tiny, crappy things like that. But my mom is a champion of this. Checking out that chart was interesting. Honestly, living in eastern Europe, anything below 8 would be considered not good at all. There are just, objectively, so many beautiful women here with symmetrical faces, and they have to compete so hard for quality men, that they have to do above and beyond in keeping their looks. I've always thought how strange it was, that in movies, etc, American girls would just walk around in their pyjamas at school or wear sports shoes. Up until now, that would be…

Same here. I see no reason why socialist ideas and rpw can't exist in the same place. Here are plenty of very young people who are throwing around phrases like "overpopulation" that have no real basis in data or being edgelords. Go ask on childfree, wether or not you should have kids! For me, I'm a mom of a toddler and expecting our final baby - I wanted kids because I like children a lot. Also, I enjoy caring for someone. Also, it is so extremely normal to want children. That's like, the most natural thing to want. Doesn't mean it's for everyone, but that's how nature works.…

Grew up in a great family. They're married for 32 years now, they fight, but that's nothing strange. Only once we were older we saw some of the arguments, but they always kept us out of problems. It was a great way of learning couples communication, too! That's just to say, that IMHO, no fighting in parents marriage isn't central. It's how it happens. You shouldn't feel bad about the fact that you postponed your education to help your family. It's actually admirable. Where are you going to meet the family? I'm saying exactly what he told me. He hates to be seen as a grandpa of his own child. He said he is afraid he can't deal with the toddler and in the future it will be even worse. Our wedding cost us 900 euros altogether. Biggest expenses were rings (200), dress (300 - sadly had limited choices because I was very pregnant and that was one thing we wanted me to have) and photographer (150). Other expenses were a suit (200), cake we ordered (saying it was for a family gathering), food (we made dinner ourselves) and a bouquet, and a bit of decor I did. Man, that is a super grim outlook! You can always know the truth, but therapy would give you mechanisms of how to deal with it, so you can still have an enjoyable life! Reading this discussion makes me think here are very few people who actually understand the dynamic. Being submissive is not a one sided deal. It doesn't mean that the woman's submissiveness in bed is one dimensional. Also, what equality are we trying to achieve, anyway? In the world of sexuality it isn't the brain and logic that is ruling, but some more biological drive. We want what we want. With a consensual partner, go for it. Bedroom is not the place for equality policing. If you think your…

Is it not confident to trust in yourself, your partner and your rules? Isn't it confident, when a woman knows what she wants and negotiates that in her relationship? Nowadays it is extremely against the grain to be like "you know guys, I love to be manhandled". It's frowned upon. Am eastern European. We are definitely different from western women, but it depends. Baltics are way more progressive than Ukraine, Russia or Belarus et al. Most of the mail order brides come from the least developed parts of Eastern Europe, and it has a lot to do with travel and work restrictions. as the women from Baltics can simply fly to live in other European union countries and work, study and marry there. Russians will do whatever it takes and will try to find an advantage point, just look at blm and how it grew from a tiny movement. It has nothing to do about Hillary, it's just an overall strategy that Russia uses now. They don't have the means to win economically or in warfare, so they put their resources in their troll plants, and watch how the social pattern disentigrates from afar. Sometimes it seems like you, Americans, h…

I suggest Fun Cheap or Free channel - though religious (Mormons), Jordan and her husband do strive for the "divide and conquer" attitude and they have a traditional marriage. I found them to be very useful in learning about productivity, budgeting and frugality - they have six kids and came out of a large debt, and now they are sharing what they learned.

Essentially, he is just a pick up artist who happens to be married. Whatever the hell he wants (open relationship?) he doesnt even acknowledge in a straightforward manner, just manipulating, gaslighting her. Its ridiculous and an asshole move towards a wife of 12 years and mother of your children. Focus on yourself, OP. If he cheats, to hell with him. Your primary objective is to take care of your kids now. Ask for your mom to visit to help with kids, maybe.?

Listen. This is textbook gaslighting. This is not a humane approach towards someone you love. Couples counselling is a chance. Protect yourself and your children.

Hi! I'm LittleShroom, 26, from Northern europe. Married two years, together 8 years, with a 1,5 yo kid. I am a SAHM and my husband is the provider of the family. I used to work for the government, in gender equality issues. I know, right? Still, i managed to do very well in bringing up male issues, bit the feminist environment was a bit much. As i definitely am not a feminist. I love planning, budgeting, frugal living, minimalism and art - i have a Million hobbies, such as watercolors, sewing, s…

Honestly, if you want to star in a debate team, go for it. Youve got what it takes. Still, your skills of explaining why exactly you should not get what you want (marriage and children) wont help your feeling of lack that will eventually happen. Explain as much as you want, deep inside you will feel unfulfilled anyway. So i am out of this debate - you have obviously made your choice, now go and have it with all its reprecussions.

Do not have a child is my suggestion. Your relationship is a zero sum game. Your partner thinks that it is either his way or the highway, and the woman either has allllllll the power or none. A Madonna/whore complex of sorts. You keep thinking about how to burden him less, but have you thought about how will you keep yourself and your child safe? Lets imagine. Your control Freak of a partner, whom you have signed away the rights, becomes abusive - emotionally, physically, what not - to your chil…

Obviously I have hit your painful spot with my questions. You said you gave up education. By giving up education you give up opportunities to improve your financial situation. By not being protected financially with marriage, you are putting your life in financial risk of what will happen if you break up. I am not an expert in legal matters in the US, I am from the Northern Europe, but all I am talking about is very straightforward and simple. Do you have a safety net? Do you have a retirement p…

You make your own decisions. It is obvious you value that man over everything else, your dreams, your aspirations. I am not sure if it is a healthy approach, but it is one you have taken. Still. I am that awful wife that does leave some chores to husband. Even though i am a SAHM, we have a small child. I do 90% of household chores, the 10% are occasional dishwashing husband does or groceries maybe several times per month, or if i have started my period (thanks, endometriosis!). Well, American women can learn a lot from us in terms if what you mentioned. But the thing that Eastern European women should adopt is a better sense of pride, not focusing on just getting a man, no matter what he is like, just for the sake of not remaining lonely. It is difficult due to the fact that there are so many more women than men and this disparity will remain for a while. As controversial as it sounds, Eastern European women should get a bit more feminist, yup i said it. Because we rea…

I am part Russian. Take it with a grain of salt. Even the relationships in the post Russia mostly have ultra typical dynamics, they are terribly unequal most of the time and i am not saying it lightly. They often times dont include thenselves in parenting and arent much interested in being good providers. Women are the rocks of the family because so many men Die young because of alcoho…

Yes. Me, being SAHM, is a lot different than if i was working full time and had to deal with all the household chores. Maybe i am not rpw enough, but such a deal is terrible. Hey. Just wanted to say, it will be okay. With two small children and all that stress, i cant imagine. I remember i broke down crying in the shop because my husband told me to "move faster to the cashier" and another time he blew up because he thought i called him a jerk. I absolutely didnt. There is quite a lot to unpack there, isnt it? First and foremost, a basic question - do you both want to salvage your relationship? Have you had an honest conversation on your dead bedroom situation and communication issues? Arguing and nagging and bad communication is often a cursed wheel, where it also just builds up until it is difficult to get over even simple little cranky moments. Several of your examples, if they happened in a better atmosphere, wouldnt be that bad. Often times i act a b…

Yeah.. I Also wanted to add to this discussion. My husband works full time and i am a sahm with a toddler. I do my best to make all the chores, but it is an unrealistic expectation (with small children, tgere is slways tons to do!) that makes me sad. And a miserable wife is way worse than some chores that havent been done. I prioritize. First priority is to serve dinner for everyone. I am not sure if it works, because most couples dont expect the SAHM + breadwinner husband model to last longer than about 10 years, once kids are more independent. Women are off to work and the issue of household chores then remains. I believe that the best way is to share the workload. Our model goes very simply - i am a SAHM and i do my best to take care of the household during work hours (clean, plan, buy, schedule kids stuff). Once husband is home, we split the chores. He watches baby, give…

If you feel bad being blonde, your discomfort will show. Unless you want to do something radical like shaving your hair off entirely, i would say go with the sense of style you have and what you like. Also, in your situation, the health of your hair. Id say visit a gyno. And regarding your feelings, you are not a trash bag, stop looking at yourself that way. Mistakes happen. You are only 23. Go into nun mode, think, evaluate, possibly visit a therpist, because the situation with your mom sounds horrible. As a mom myself, reading all that made me want to hug you. You will be alright. Honestly, just hearing that carrying a gun is the manly thing to do, it makes me cringe. If you are looking to have a husband who is a real captain, dont go looking for stereotypical macho males. Anyone who thinks that carrying a gun is how you defend your family and any male who carries a gun is by definition a husband material - come on. Rookie mistake. Any man who has a mind of his own is a husband material. If he only has a gun because "thats what a man has to do", well, sounds like a phony.…

For starters, i am all for legalizing prostitution. Regarding the so called "swedish model" - their main point is to protect sex workers from gerting into the "i prostitute because i dont have education / come from a bad background / am homeless"- "i get jailed for prostitution" - "now i can only prostitute, because no one will hire me, i lack education and am still homeless". Its basically a neverending cycle that is hard to beat. Prostitution isnt just high pay high value escort. Those are few…

From a mens rights active woman - Honestly, arguing the "what about" point of view is okay. Those are valid questions. Everyone should be taken into account. In this case, the dictionary feminists should be happy about such centres for fathers, because we all need some help in the crazy journey of parenting. And gender specific help is great - mothers and fathers have many issues that are common, but also a lot of them are specifically for one or another. The issue is when anything male-oriented…

Oh yeah. I agree with the comfort part. I'm a firm believer that you can dress comfortably and still look great. Sometimes overdoing shows a hint of desperation to find a partner, to be honest. I'm talking cleavage out, short skirts, tight clothing, heels and lots of makeup. Men look at these women, but they don't choose to date or marry them. Being well groomed, in a good shape and in clothing that actually show off YOU and your personality, not just parts of you, is more important.
