Mine. I just don’t know, I feel like I am very conservative compared to modern OlD day women. He apparently moved in with his ex after 3 months so I can see they can move fast

It’s very hard for me to like and trust a guy. It takes time for me to build up an emotional connection It’s not just physical for me. I need to share an emotional connection before intimacy. And yea a factor is he is old, and bald. But I thought to date older as he is closer to wanting to settle down.

Update: he asked me to go to his place cause he wanted to cook dinner for me, I kindly declined saying I don’t causally visit people’s place, he had gaslighted me right after. Said I misinterpreted the invitation and that he meant it to be an outdoors picnic near his condo and then proceeded to send me to bed by saying goodnight and stopping the convo, lol... welps glad I found out his character relatively fast

I think with covid lock down, he prob just thought he would get a free pass. You’ve been married for 3 years though, so if this is the first year he’s done this may be due to this covid crisis

Yeah I plan to in the new year to see if he’s firm about this and whether we can work together to both feel secure

Another fear of mine is, me dumping him. Dating someone new for a year and that guy also not ready whereas if I stayed with my current guy, by then he would be ready. Mens mind change, like he feels 3-4 years today but what if in few months, it becomes 1 year or 8 months. I am so conflicted

Ill try this. I feel like he expects New Year’s Eve sex though and has booked this fancy hotel room with fireworks view so I won’t have much of a choice but definitely no blow jobs for him whatsoever. I am just feeling so disgusted about him after realizing he is just stringing me along. It hurts. I spent the whole day today in bed. Sulking, not sure what my next step while having an impending New Years sex date with a man who has no intention to marry me. I am so lost in life right now

We did speak about it and we said we were both looking for marriage as final goal. Little did I know, our time lines were different

This sounds like good advice. Thank you I’ll probably do that in the new year

Well 2020 was to get engaged to him. If I leave him, that’s out of the cards

I actually think he wouldn’t even try to win me back because I could see the torment in his face and how badly he felt about It all.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/12/19 03:38 PM

Yeah I didn’t want to put pressure cause I don’t want anything disingenuous. Therefore I didn’t put out the ultimatum. But you girls are right, that he didn’t give me reassurance that I was the one in any of this. I keep attributing to the fact that I’m his first real relationship and he is low key wondering if someone better is out there which is why I initially was hesitant to date him. It’s a risk I guess I dug my own grave. I’m just feeling so sorry for myself.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/12/19 03:37 PM

Do you guys think I should talk to him once more and like sort of an ultimatum? And if so, what should I say?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/12/19 02:42 PM

I am scared to make the wrong choice, many of you are telling me he had no plans to marry me. But I’ve also had situations where men do take longer to decide to marry from guy friends. Are we being hasty having a girls POV. I just dont know

He did say he felt guilty for not being to get where I am at the moment.and knows where I am coming from

He said he doesn’t want to be pressured by a timeline. I am fooling myself. I was convinced he really loved me

Because I have fallen trap into the sunken time fallacy. It also hurts me to see that I stood by him all the time while he was a struggling articling student only to anticipate him being done and now he will be with someone else. As well as everyone I’ve introduced him to, it just fucking sucks.

I will come back and update you guys after New Years. He already booked a hotel for us to watch fireworks on the 31st by the pier so I can’t possibly end it now and make a hasty decision I’ll regret. It was something planned way in advance I don’t think any of us expected to have this convo tonight. I personally was going to bring it up after New Years. as well I won’t deny I am certainly in denial. But I think I am just not ready to pull the trigger I need a few more days to process what happen…

Yeah I think that has what made me second guess the whole thing. He didn’t say that it’s not right timing but it will happen but he said he ideally needs to date someone 3-4 years to be sure and he does not want to be rushed or feel pressured by a timeline

The reason I brought up engagement is him asking me what city did I want to live in in the future. And I decided since we are on the topic of “future” I might as well bring this up. Sadly enough it went opposite of what I expected.

I know. I took a risk. When we first started dating we had both talked about not dating for fun and the goal was for marriage and to eventually start a family. I figured that that meant after he is done his paid internship (roughly 50,000 salary which is not much) we would eventually plan for engagement and marriage. Though he lives at home, I figured he would move out after his internship and that he is just doing the smart thing of saving money for downpayment or other things like engagement r…

I know you come from a FDS standpoint. I just was wondering if roles reverse possibly I’d feel unready as well? Imagine being a 28 year old male, who has never had a girlfriend before, to suddenly dating one for 15 months. Being in lots of debt, still living at home, and employment not entirely secured yet and then now this girlfriend is asking for a marriage proposal in 2020. Isn’t that too much to expect? I almost think I overdid it asking him this so soon. But at the same time, I needed to kn…

Okay thanks girl. This all happened tonight and I sprung it on him. 3-4 years of dating is essentially telling me I should wait at least 1.5 to 2 more years. I will reassess in the new year since we have already arranged new year eves plans. Yea I was crying to my girlfriends tonight because I can sense it won’t work out. I want to believe that he isn’t stringing me along :( Is there no way he’s just genuinely not ready YET but will be once he graduates in 7 months? :(

Do you think it’s not unreasonable of me to expect this from him when he hasn’t even fully gotten his license as a lawyer. He also doesn’t come from money and has school debt to pay off. I am wondering if it’s not that he’s a bad person but that we are just in different places. I am just sad cause I invested a lot of time and energy into him I already have my career in place. I have been an accountant for 5 years whereas he is just beginning his career it could be just too overwhelming for him. …

I think it’s fine as long as eventually he’ll look into moving out. He’s only 25, he’s still a baby. If he has extra money then that extra money can be spent on you. It’s a win.
