In high school, every class saw a minimum of 50% of the valedictorians be female. Usually ~70% of the Academic Top 10 consisted of females. I know for a fact that of the four kids who scored 30+ on the ACT in our class, 3 were male, and 2 of us did not make the top 10 (myself included). In my experience, I cannot remember a fellow male high schooler that truly put forth academic effort on a consistent basis, at least commensurate with the females. We all took AP classes and Math/Science elective…

Haha, I apologize for misunderstanding.

Have you detailed your experience elsewhere? I would be interested in reading your account.

Look, I get it. Almost all girls ride the carousel. I get it. I have to be paranoid and assume the worst. I already made a deal with myself (laugh as you will): If I find out that C is not a virgin, then I can safely assume essentially no girl is, and I can therefore give up my stance on virginity, etc. But, let me present the evidence against her status as a slut: Daughter of two parents that met/married at a Christian university, the same college she happens to attend. Father is a pastor, and …

I hear you. I promise to do my best.

Thanks for your thoughts, sir. Definitely still planning on the walk. As far as religion, I will not bore you with my personal details. I am admittedly a very agnostic Christian, so in general I do not consider that an issue, but I cannot speak for her. As for the long-distance, yes, that is the major issue facing us. Luckily, she lives in the same neighborhood, so I would see her whenever she is home, and she attends the same school as my brother and my friend, so I already possess adequate mot…

Haha, I concede your first point. As to the duration of our talk, yeah, true. I admit your advice runs against my natural inclination; I like to talk with people in general, and I tend to talk for hours if I find a willing participant. Compound that with my conversation partner being the girl I have been attracted to, and I think my response was fairly predictable. I admittedly wanted to talk with her for even longer, but you are probably right that in the interest of maintaining attraction/inte…

Yeah, thanks for your thoughts, man. I concede that I have only been reading TRP and associated sites for a little over a month, and I tend to see a lot of guys that seem to prefer spinning plates over LTRs. I just need to do more research, I suppose. That statement was just the product of how I have interpreted what I read. As far as "propositioning" her, that was not my intent whatsoever. I just want to talk with her and learn more about her. That was my motivation. I am not interested in sex …

I totally concede that I am invested in her. I have been interested in her for three years now, and it is hard to break that, just like it is hard to break the blue pill mentality in general. As far as sex, I really don't know. Some other commentators in this thread have indicated that she is probably sleeping around, and I know TRP is generally skeptical of girls that claim to be virgins. However, I can say that if she is sleeping around, she hides it very well. I know, I know, always assume th…

Yeah, that is pretty much my plan. Just entering monk mode for the last month of the semester and seeing what happens. If she actually does approach me on a walk, I'll know for sure she's interested, and if not, well, I can always knock on her door (though I assume that would come off as really desperate). Not worried. Thanks for your thoughts!

Your question is a tough one, I give you that! Honestly, yeah, I certainly am too confident at times, or all the time, what have you. I left out of my post the details of the mild (I consider it mild because I have never sought help, professional or otherwise) depression I dealt with through my high school years, and the absolute meltdown I had at college, where I stopped going to classes and hid in my room from the world while watching porn and reading Reddit. I will be the first person to clai…

Yeah, I can see that. But I am not interested in obtaining sex, and that seems to be perhaps the overriding goal of TRP. I am fine in just obtaining acquaintances, but at the same time I know that would qualify as Beta behavior. But my goal is not sex. My goal is improving myself whenever and however possible. So, yes, I suppose just talking with girls would be a good thing to begin, but at the same time that would be a difficult thing, because I have also associated initiating conversation as f…

Like I mentioned in another post, I am not sure I want to try. Sex does not seem all that interesting a goal in and of itself. For example, last week I found myself alone with a female coworker during a dead period of an hour (we work at a zoo restaurant). During that time, I basically had her eating out of my hand, utilizing lots of TRP conversational techniques, etc. For the first time in my life, I realized: if I really wanted to press the issue, I could have sex. That night. That was a relie…

Absolutely right. I overthink all the time, might as well just give it a shot. Thanks!

That is the thing. I am interested in attaining acquaintances, perhaps even friendships, but I am not interested in sexing up random girls just because I can. Does that make sense? Maybe I am being too nice by assuming that girls want the same thing I do. The reason I abstain from sex is that I am attracted to the kind of girl that is the 99th percentile. I know a girl: valedictorian, kind, caring, Christian, and beautiful. I can land girls tomorrow if I want to... But I would be giving up a fut…

I feel like I may reside in much the same place as you, my friend. I think I notice girls glancing at me in hallways, looking at me in the gym, etc., but due to my past failures and lack of confidence I hesitate to make much of these. They could be imagined, right? At some point, though, I plan to just let loose and give it a shot. I am only getting better from now on anyways, right?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
