just because he's important to me doesn't mean my world revolves around him - I have a pretty active social life and a lot of the stories that I find worth telling involve other people. there are guys that I've talked to in class who don't say anything about a gf until months after I met them but I don't see it as them not caring about them

it's not a fake person, it's a fake boyfriend - it's a way of saying "hey I'm not interested". And, as I've said in another post, it isn't enough to just say "i'm not interested" because guys will still keep trying to persuade you to let them get with you. Saying you have a boyfriend usually works in better in getting guys you aren't interested in to go away

because even if you do they still keep coming on to you. "well that's because you don't know me" , "that's because you haven't let me buy you a drink yet" etc etc but if you say "I have a boyfriend" to back up your "I'm not interested" statement they're more likely to back off

I tried using something similar to this as a pickup line before. I was trying to get with a dude and was saying how "back in high school you were quite the stud, all of my friends thought you were really attractive. Actually they still do" (turns out this isn't a great line for picking up a guy, but women don't have their own pua tactics as far as I've seen) or if you're not getting that vibe from her you can just ask her which ones and if you think you'd be a good match for any of them.

I definitely agree with responding with something funny - if you have a witty comeback then girls are bound to be impressed.
