I can relate. June of last year she hit me saying she doesn’t see this relationship going any further. We tried to make things work for a few months, hugging, kissing, etc but no sex, still slept in the same bed but that was it, eventually I got super tired of feeling like I was the only one trying and then we decided to sell the house. She still hasn’t signed the papers and isn’t in a big rush to, not sure why she’s the one who wants it. We’re still living together but I’ve started to detach an…

Believe what you want. It’s at the least a huge fight just waiting to happen.

Have you read No More Mr Nice Guy? The Way Of The Superior Man? I’m headed where you are too.. it’s a tough ass road but hoping for smoother roads ahead.

Sell it man. You don’t want that tainted energy in a new relationship. About to be divorced and I’m gonna let her keep it and suggest selling it.

That was a great read for me today. Still cohabitating and was suffering in my thoughts today, this really helped. Thank you.

Understandable to feel like a failure. I’ve felt that about every day for the past year or so. That’s not reality tho, that’s just the story you’re telling yourself. Do your best to convince yourself you’re the man, drag your body through self improvement whether it’s diet or exercise and let the compounding benefits begin so when you’re ready mentally your body will be too. Good luck.

Very slim chance that’s going to happen but I understand.

Sounds like you know what you need to do. Kids complicate things for sure but you gotta do what’s right for you, to be better for them.

Been living with my stbxw for close to 6 months. It sucks man. There's always slivers of hope in our (the man's) eyes but in my case and likely yours, her mind is made up. Idk how she's going to make it work either financially but that's not really my business anymore. We agreed to sell the house in spring and split profit 50/50 and be a done deal. Being in limbo makes it hard to start your healing process but I've been going to the gym and recently started swimming laps which really helps my me…

Thank you for this. Cohabitating at the moment and dreading the final hit but reading this gave me hope today.

Many of us in a similar boat as you. Common consensus is don’t jump right into another relationship, take a little time off to get your mind right or you could squander a good opportunity. Take the time to get your fitness in check, get yourself a fresh wardrobe, and then do what you need to do.

Not much to do to stop the thoughts other than hitting the gym and keeping yourself busy. Going through it myself. Most people say she’s been considering it for a while and then finally snap, for us it’s a shock so we’re pretty far behind in the healing process. Odds are it’s similar to my situation, not much love there and hasn’t been for a while other than little glimpses. Keep your chin up, hopefully we look back on it and are thankful it happened.

Going through a similar situation and have contemplated the same. But I think I’ve decided I’m going to wait a while to live on my own before throwing my hat in the ring.

Don’t take my advice as gospel but it sounds like the damage is done and I can relate in my own way. She didn’t feel taken care of for a while and even though I’m doing my best to mend the relationship it has the feeling that the relationship is over or at least much different than it was before the big talk. I feel like once they make that mental switch it’s next to impossible for us as men to do anything to change that. Take care of yourself mentally and physically, get some new clothes, do yo…

Going through a similar situation with my wife right now although I'm only 33 with a 5 year old. She wants to blame the lack of intimacy on me for not doing enough for her. Meanwhile I'm doing the dishes the laundry the yardwork etc while she sits on her phone. We're both great parents, take care of ourselves, but sometimes we just can't make that other person happy no matter what we do. Her feelings are just that, feelings, often skewed by emotion rather than facts. I'm beginning to accept that…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
