Don’t forget to mention it was frozen broccoli! For reference: https://www.reddit.com/r/FemaleDatingStrategy/comments/jmwis1/lvm_out_here_cooking_dog_food_and_frozen_broccoli/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Why can’t men just acknowledge the pain we go through instead of downplaying them? 🤦🏻‍♀️ just shut up and listen

In my case, it also depends on the group of friends he hangs out with. If they're all 50/50 relationships, he'll compare notes and say "tHeIr PiCkMe GiRlFrIeNdS aRe DoInG iT! wHy CaN't YoU?"

I didn't think this was Desi men thing. I'm dating a LVM who happens to be Desi and he does not know how to do any of the house work properly. It's so half assed and inefficient. Then he calls me a "gold digger" for asking him to cover more than half our bills as he makes 4x more. Geez, you're so quick to forget that I got you a switch during the switch drought and I dated you before your career choice. (This is why it's so important to vet!). He's also really good at pretending to be HV by maki…

I haven’t even read the content and I’m already irked after the “read or don’t” 😤. From that alone gives off the “I don’t care if you don’t read it, but hey I’ll poke to see if you’re desperate” attitude.

I think thats a great idea to build your friend up instead of talking negative about the guy! I find that they usually won't take the advice and they'll less likely to share bad things about him going forward. What kind of things did you say/do to build your friend up?

bUt hE fElT sOoOoO bAd *insert tear drop sad face* Words are cheap! My LVM would say "aww bae I feel so guilty watching you do all the dishes and cook. You should tell me to help you more!" How about you just do it?

She was definitely gaslighted multiple times in the past, she’s now conditioned to only blame herself for any setbacks in the relationship. She truly needs support to validate her emotions which is why she’s reaching out to Reddit. Hopefully, she finds the strength to leave. Her first step would be overcoming the sunk cost fallacy since they’re soon to be weds.

I only found this receipt after his response. I honestly didn’t think I would have to in a relationship. What persuaded me to go through old convo was when he made me feel I’m being a “gold digger”. I’m sure he’s going to deflect hard if I do show him the receipt. He’ll likely say “That was before. This is the present. Things change.” 🙄 (well my love for you has changed. So bye.) Your LVM ex sounds like my soon to be ex. Not a man of his words = LVM

You’re absolutely right! I felt stupid for wanting to be a pickme. I did it because I thought he would appreciate and love me more. Obviously, as FDS would have predicted, he sat back and took advantage of my free service. I hope FDS gets more exposure and followers. FDS really helped put my feelings into words and making them valid.

He didn’t make himself clear that I’m expected to foot the bill for groceries/dining out. He reassured me I wouldnt have to worry about any of the bills. He mostly enjoyed the idea of me living with him. Once he got what he wanted, he sent me what I owed him for dining outs. It’s what I see from my perspective. Before me, he’s already paying rent, internet, and utilities. Him saying he was “incredibly generous” for not billing me half of what he’s already paying, should be the bare minimum. Inst…

Before I moved in with my bf of 6 years in a different city, he reassured me I would not have to worry about bills as I continue studying full time to further my education. He works at a well-known tech company as a software engineer. After I moved in, I immediately deployed my pickme behaviour by buying him hangers to keep his clothes off the floor. Buying light fixtures for better lighting. Buying bins to organize trinkets. Swept/mopped the floors, cooked for him, threw out the trash, laundry,…

I would like to emphasize OP's point where career success is no guarantee of a HVM. My LVM is a software engineer for a big company. We were both students when we first met. I stupidly wanted to invest in him by paying 50/50 or sometimes 100% on bills as I had a job during school and he didn't. I admired him a lot for his drive to find a high paying job so I didn't want to put financial pressure on him while he's dating me as he studies for engineering. He landed a job at a well known tech compa…

Shut the front door! He only gave you a water bottle as a gift?? What was he thinking?? What was your reaction when you received it? I'm baffled.

Sis, he’s gaslighting you. You’re not toxic and your emotions and reactions are 100% valid. Don’t let him downplay the situation.

Exactly!!! If I realized I didn't have enough frosting and I wanted it to look perfect. I would fucking make more!! He probably shrugged and said “good enough”.

That’s disgusting. I don’t get why he thought sharing a video of a distressed dog was a good idea. Did he think you would also laugh? He sounds like a person who would do things without thinking. Delete and block!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
