Even Star wars made fun of this kind of thinking, "only a sith speaks in absolutes."

Yes it can. Someone is claiming that their experience represents 100% of the population. My anecdote shows it's not 100%. You might be thinking of the inverse of this where an anecdote can't be used to show 100%. That's the fallacy of the individual anecdote you may be thinking of.

We literally had an all-hands meeting in the IT department at Lutron where my boss told us out loud that he had no idea how to manage the women in the department so he was just going to let them do whatever they want. Edit: sometime around 2005-2006.

Very sorry this has been your experience. My wife and I are celebrating our sixth anniversary and she is the most wonderful person I've ever met. We don't focus on gender politics at all, but we do talk candidly about our experiences when we have them. She is 100% supportive of my unique experience as a man, and I'm the same with her experience as a woman.

Even if they dismiss speeding, I don't get the light penalty for not having insurance. That alone, not having insurance and killing a pedestrian, should be a heavier sentence.

She was too much of a coward to tell her family she didn't want to marry him, so this was the better solution. EZ PZ.

And the right is doing a great job of exploiting it while doing nothing to help men, or anyone but themselves, really.

I'm skeptical of labels like "winning" as if this was a "war" and someone needs to "lose". But the premise is sane, that men should be their best selves and don't need an organized movement. It would be nice to have a sense of unity. It feels like no one even has my back except my wife.

I think it's more of a concern about being in a room alone and with one co-worker, and the question is whether it's discrimination if he only has that concern with women. I have no problem with a personal policy of never being alone in a room with a coworker because then it becomes he-said-she-said.

I went to a Jordan Peterson talk in Upper Darby, PA. He definitely not an example of healthy masculinity. He uses smart sounding language to fool people who don't know any better, and he advocates for policies that make headlines but aren't helping anyone. He's a grifter like the rest. That Upper Darby talk? His co-speaker was Candace Owens. It's just grifters associating with grifters.

Out of ongoing curiosity, what people are the best types to represent men's rights? Because I still can't get anyone to give me a definition of healthy, non toxic masculinity. I'm convinced that the "mission" was to brand all male behavior as toxic and leave no room for anything positive.

Most Strike 3 Holdings cases that proceed into the beginning and litigation and then get dismissed. Many of the defendants are named in sealed documents that never get unsealed but aren't yet subject to a protective order. So they are in limbo. I imagine they could be unsealed at any time but no one aske or cares. Not assault cases but piracy cases, so not a 100% answer to your question.

That's a lot of words to not say much. My point was the hypocrisy. Hypocrites call women whores while seeking liberation themselves. You are a hypocrite.

Let's not kid ourselves, the people who are envious that some women can have multiple partners would do the same thing themselves if given the chance. Men can be whores, too.

My wife and I applied to the same coding school, 42. She talked to them about her learning disability, and her accomodations were granted instantly with no questions. Me? Instantly denied, no questions, no follow-up, just a lecture about how they can't accommodate everyone. They didn't know we were married, so I called them out on it. They just shut down and stonewalled and denied everything. And later they announced that now everyone gets the disability accomodation, so problem solved. We of co…

And there are a bunch of men who think that the world is a zero-sum game and we can't put resources into both men's problems and women's problems so we should just forget about men's problems so women can have more solutions. I lost a former best friend who had this reaction when I wanted to see the Cassie Jay movie. I couldn't believe it. He genuinely and sincerely thought that I shouldn't talk about my male-related problems because, and I quote, women get raped regularly in Africa.

Wow, so he spent too much time with someone else's kids and ended up financially responsible for them. How about the fucking bio dad???? Make him pay up, not the step dad. So stepdad doesn't get to choose when he becomes a father to the children. The court decides that and he doesn't seem to get a say.

Yikes at the linked article (Teaching about being an oppressor) where the author assumes all of these male privileges are true. It's intellectual dishonesty to assert something is true for everyone because the author couldn't develop the idea or research further than their own anecdotes. The article was paywalled for me, but the paragraphs I saw mirrored the kind of things an old friend was saying about how I was "taken by the patriarchy" and "needed to apologize". Of course, he could not explai…

"Let's elect the fascist because he makes false promises and the democrats don't pay enough attention to men's issues." Like, there's not even a comparison. Trump is *not" going to follow through on men's rights issues. He had the house and Senate for two years and didn't do that stuff then. The fools that think he will are easily fooled. And just as I predicted, there isn't a single peep about the performative nonsense of cosplaying as a garbage man. Playing/Streaming Madden was mocked, but eve…

What an immature take. Some people on the internet offend you, so all women and their families should suffer. I'm appalled at the lack of empathy or emotional maturity. You can advocate for your rights without falsely equivocating the people who offend you with "every woman". What the fucking hell.

Oh, that wiki is really f'd up. She wants to reduce the male population to 10% and women are supposed to do this by not having male children, but she disclaims that she means to use violence to achieve this. Of course, that same suggestion did result is the violent culling of children in China and other countries if they are the undesired gender. "Gearhart argues that it is by women's own capacity for reproduction that the ratio of men to women can be changed though the technologies of cloning o…

Ok, so mine wasnt a sex crime but an attempted home invasion. I pissed off a few people outside my house by asking them to turn down their music. They tried to jump me and chased me back in the house. Then they broke my front window, but ran away when they saw I was armed. I called the Pennsylvania Victim's Support hotline and asked to speak to a counselor. They told me, I shit you not, "We don't have services for men". I like how you made a huge claim, 'tons of evidence', and provided no sources, while asking in the very next sentence for the person you're rebutting to provide their sources. I think before they respond with their sources, you should have to at least link to a launching point for this 'tons of evidence'.

Oh, man, I could go on and on about this. I'll just say that, even though he was caught, admitted guilt, and served 10 years in prison, none of Kenneth Bernard Schade's victims were ever helped in away way by the state. No money, no counseling, no support groups. It's shameful. He had access to over 3,000 boys aged 11 to 14 over his career.

I was the victim of an attempted home invasion in ~2013 or so. I lived in a major city, Allentown, PA, and stupidly asked some people outside my house to turn down their music at 11pm. They chased me back inside and broke my front window trying to get in. They booked it when they saw my firearm. No shots or threats needed. I got their license plate. Reported to police. Absolutely nothing happened. I called the Captain at the police desk. He said nothing would be done. Wouldn't explain why. I cal…

Back when the Cassie Jay movie was coming out, she was offering self-hosted screenings for something like $250 or $500. Rent a Theater and play the film for an audience. I have a friend in sound and stage so I asked him to help me put it together. Boy did I get an earful. Women are assaulted more than men so we can't focus on men's problems until women's problems are fully solved. He literally said women are raped in Africa so we can't screen a film about the feminist who documented men's rights…

It just sounds like you had shitty therapists. Proper therapy addresses the issues and works to solve or at least cope with the problem. It's definitely not perfect, but it's not 'thousands of dollars to have a stranger take your money' when it's real therapy.

^ this. I'm 42 years old and have been told by so many therapists that I will never change them and must either put up or leave. Of course, then I tried changing them, and it only made it worse. You have to leave. It will get better. You'll want to shut down and close up, but do your best to keep asking for help. Ask here if you want, PM me if you want. You need to get out.

Your post reminds me of a phenomenon I have often experienced with females: They appear unable to take on another perspective. Their worldview is fundamentally egocentric. I think I get where you're coming from but I from the perspective of this bisexual man, both genders are totally capable of lacking empathy and being egocentric. I think it's just that we only experience dating from one perspective if we only date one sex gender.

It is NOT your fault that you trusted someone and they turned out to be shitty. It SUCKS but it's not your FAULT. Let's put it this way, if she trusted you and you murdered her, would your therapist blame her for trusting you? Yeah, your therapist's advice is that dumb.

Getting someone to have sex with you under false pretenses is rape. Telling someone you're a doctor in order to sleep with them can be rape. Lying to you to get you to take off the condom and have unprotected sex . . . imho . . . is rape. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_by_deception

“The gym operator has to do its level best to stop discrimination in the form of harassment,” "It can’t just say ‘Oh, well the solution is we’re going to make a workout space for the people who are being harassed.’" How about you implement policies to combat harassment - instead of assuming that harassment only affects one gender?

Rape is the crime where you have sex or other sexual penetration without the person's consent. In the USA, a heavily intoxicated person cannot consent, no matter how much they 'beg for sex'. Amy Schumer raped a guy if that story she allegedly told is true. Yes, taking sexual advantage of a drunk person, regardless of gender, is rape.

OMG. If it's rape for a man to have sex with a heavily intoxicated woman, then it's rape when woman has sex with a heavily intoxicated man.
