I saw that, but didn't really associate that with him. But you're right, I suppose to a kid his age it would be taken that way. I still don't feel like she's saying she's forcing him to wear a tutu. But ya the child thing is weird and probably confusing to the kid.

"Trying" implies that she doesn't succeed, though. If she was forcing him, his response would be irrelevant and she wouldn't say she was trying. Her other statements would seem to confirm this, particularly that she wants to "support whatever he wants to be". It's really a stretch to assume she's forcing him based on the info presented in the article.

Again, the article says after he expressed his preference they accepted that. And nowhere does it say she told him he's not a boy. This is the third time I've specifically stated that and no one will acknowledge this. This is Reddit, so not reading the article is par for the course, but are people responding to comments without reading them now? Or are you just willfully ignorant?

My parents bought us an Easy-Bake-Oven. Is there a statute of limitations on that? Should I call child protective services? Am a queer now and don't realize it? Can you recommend a good therapist? Seriously man, get a grip. They tried to get him to wear it and he didn't like it. They are ok with that. Am I even looking at the right article? Or did my Easy-Bake-Oven fuck me up so bad I can't even read properly? You're making me question everything!

Maybe I'm being dense but I don't see that anywhere in the article.

It can be. But it's also the parents job, in a lot of cases. If your kid doesn't like vegetables, and you repeatedly insist he eats them, that's obviously not child abuse. And you can insert whatever "good" belief you like. If you were religious, you'd take your kid to church whether he liked it or not (and some might argue that's abuse but it's irrelevant because its a parents right to raise their child how they see fit). If you just dropped a few grand on football equipment and your kid wants …

Please stop inventing straw men to attack. They apparently asked him if he wanted to wear a tutu a few times. He didn't want to. Basically, they're trying to be supportive of his seemingly traditional gender identity. That's the upshot here. Honestly, they seem like decent enough parents to me. From what I read in the article, she seems sort of annoying to me personally but let's not lose all sense of perspective here. This sort of blind judgement devoid of reason is what we hate about SJWs, isn…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
