That's been my big disappoint in my recent years of dating. The 30-34 year olds I date are single for a reason - they just want to screw random dudes constantly and not admit it. It's really hard to find someone attractive that will actually nurture a relationship. On a lighter note, I did find one recently. :) I'll move to /r/happy now. Haha

Monetary deterrents and liberty revocation deterrents are very different things. You compare distracted driving to a headlight issue and public smoking/drinking, yet you've given me reason to believe that you support a jail sentence for distracted driving and not the others.

Good for you. It's not easy rolling over, but it gives you character. Cheers.

Have you ever killed someone accidentally? It feels like shit. It's emotionally similar to sticking your finger in an electric socket. That's a deterrent.

I feel your pain. Similar story. While it helps to share, I pray that you're able to let it go.

My ex pulled a false DV charge on me. I just walked away from it assuming she'd seek reconciliation. She never spoke to me again, took our house, and remarried. Luckily I just turned my back. I have no doubt she was itching to throw me in jail. Completely heartless and entitled to treat a human as a disposable tool.

Yes! Twice divorced here. I can't bring myself to commit again. It just seems too time consuming. That said, I'm super happy for those who have been able to find the perfect person who will love them no matter what. It wasn't in the plans for me.

You and her both talk about one person "making" the other feel a certain way. You should both be careful about logic like that. No one makes you do or feel anything (in the free world). That's up to you. If my wife causes me to feel like shit, she didn't make me. She may have introduced a situation that I couldn't handle but she didn't make me feel like shit, I did that on my own. In your situation, you didn't make her feel like shit, she felt like shit because she wanted something other than wh…

Doesn't sound like you'll have any problems. But there are 2 sides to every story...

Not a big deal buddy. I show pictures of my kids to all sorts of strangers. That's why wallets have picture foldouts. Maybe your situation is bad, but don't make sharing pictures a hill to die on.

Because she makes $10.49/hr and I make 110k/yr. They take the combined incomes, use a screwy chart to determine how much of that the kids should get, then the person making more has to pay the other based on percentage of income. If you look at the PDF, you'll see the screwy charts they use. I has a math subreddit post where I asked for an equation to represent it. It's logrithmic. I'll follow up sometime with a post on it and the proposed changes, and what they mean. I'm also contacting the spo…

Dammit. No one tell my ex... I already feel that I pay her too much. $750/mo, plus I pay all daycares, medical, and insurance. Doesn't sound like much, but the daycare adds up, and we are 50/50 custody. She is a 30 year old making only $10.49/hr, with no incentive to do better because she knows she will get less CS.

A stranger to you is not necessarily a stranger to her. Also, I post pics of my kids on the Internet all the time. Technically that's the same thing, no?

More federal government involvement in things that they shouldn't be involved in. Sorry to hijack the thread for a political statement, but this crap is getting old.

I love my alpha woman! She does more than me, makes more than me, and at times seems smarter than me (that last one must be an illusion).

Sorry. There were 3 judge referrals. 2 mediations for each. After the first 2 sessions we agreed on custody. The other 2 referrals (4 session) were later issues I or she brought up. IOW, each referral was 2 sessions. All 3 referrals were settled out of court.

Oh, and she already blew through her money. Took me back for more child support, but I fought that off. She is mad that I got remarried and have a dual income now and feels entitled to my new wife's money!!! I could write a book on her antics and how I kept my cool. Let me know if you're interested in a self post.

I didn't. Mine was settled after spending a shitload on subpoenas and private investigator. However, all 6 times I was referred to the court mediators by the judge, 50/50 was the recommendation.

No. It's actually quite popular now. Best 50/50 sched is M/Tu mom, W,Th dad, alternate F,Sa,Su. That's what most recommend in my first hand divorce experience.

I got 50/50 kids and assets. You don't know shit. Technically I got more since I have the kid indefinitely as deductions, and as their perm residence.

Yes, 50/50 kids and assets although I did pay an alimony lump sum on 18k. Wish I could take that back and do it monthly at $600/mo for 3 years since then it's tax deductible on my side. I got it over with. That's all that mattered to me. I got her the fuck out of my house

I agree, but sometimes just settling and walking is the fastest and most painless. It was 50/50 kids and $. I paid her a lump sum alimony of 18k too. I may have done better in the courts, but I was focused on ending it and having at least 50/50 kids. She was gunning for supervised visits for me. The story goes on. There were many subsequent legal batlles but the ending is still the same.

My ex-wife of 8 years (and 2 children) became addicted to World of Warcraft and I had to leave her. During the addiction she was meeting other guys online, and the last straw was coming home early and finding her on a video chat with a guy. During the divorce, Blizzard released the world of Warcraft play history via subpoena. She was playing 18-20 hours per day. Needless to say she settled on 50/50 out of fear she'd be buried. There were many other instances of me catching her cheating. This WoW…

Leave her jewerly and gifts alone, but secure the cash. Close accounts and move cash into private accounts. Note that if it ever goes to court, you will be responsible for these accounts and they will be seen by the court. Just do what is right in your mind for a 50/50 and pm me if you need more advice. Been here, done that.
