So do 74% of women think the opposite, that men's careers are hurt more by having a baby? The statistic needs a source to best understand what the statistic actually means. I'm actually surprised it's not higher.

Nope, the difference was that before social media, it just wasn't shoved in front of your face 24/7.

Especially when we are in a society that claims , we live in a system that benefits men One of the biggest points of the Men's Rights subreddit is that the system does not benefit men. The suicides possibly can be from the societal system crushing down on the unfortunate men until suicide.

You don't need to imagine it; we do live in a world where body shaming men's baldness is a thing. It also extends to both genders, worse bald shaming for women, thus why there is a wig industry.

The National Greek community is very strictly anti-hazing. If there is hazing occurring at the local level of chapters, it should be reported up to the national level of those organizations immediately. There are plenty of Greek organizations to choose from, so if you start pledging at one and don't feel like you fit it, it is quite alright to quit and check out a different one. I greatly enjoyed my time in the Greek system and still do as a semi-active alumni! But remember, like all organizatio…

If you want to see the random conversations at another level, I recommend breweries and airport bars! The quieter atmosphere at breweries is super conducive to conversation, and at the airport, most people are by themselves and usually up to talk to someone, thus why they are at the bar. Also, you have a great conversation starter at each location. At the brewery: What are you drinking there? (People at breweries love to talk about the beer they are drinking usually!) At the airport: Where are y…

If this is the US, then everyone finds out each other's professions within a couple of minutes of interaction because it's practically hardwired into standard conversation to ask, "What do you do?" Sure, you can make a joke of the question, but when people are proud of their jobs and especially if it is an admirable profession, it's hard to not want to be truthful about it. I personally have gotten away from talking about work when out and about, but when asked, I will tell the truth, keep it sh…

Welcome to a bar! That's what sitting at the bar counter is there for and has been for centuries...to talk to random people!

Mother-son dances do exist; I attended one with my mom back in elementary school.

This wildly varies city to city and group to group. It's easy to figure out what the group is like after one or two events. Usually I figure out which hosts attract the best people and make sure I go to those events.

Meetup.com Start by joining many of the groups on the site in your area. Then pick and choose which events from those groups you want to attend. Over time, you will find yourself usually sticking to one or two of the groups and even hanging out with those people outside of the official events.

It looked like she had the mass, but just didn't understand the physics of how to properly work the mechanism. She constantly hit the "door" low and without any speed, even when the other people were telling her "as high as you can!" The guy actually gave a run and jump at the door!

Travel! 4 days off is enough time to take a small trip each of your "weekends". Learn about the people and cultures in different locations! It needs constant adaptation and improvisation, and in the end, you will be a elevated to another level as a well-rounded person!

Although on the lighter side for this sub, it does offer the simple message of just keep escalating and "at least you tried"!

If we ever have a great enough enemy with enough public support to defeat it, you can bet your life that the draft will be used. If it wasn't for the horrible PR from Vietnam, the draft would have been used multiple times since then.

These guys are only 15 and 17, so they can easily handle running so much, I know I did! Now at 10 years their senior, I stick to biking, but at least 1-2 hr rides.

If I was able to, I would live in a city an date one of these women, but it's not going to happen for a couple of years. If you come out of college with an engineering degree, companies may put you in remote locations either as a field engineer or at some plant, such as the situation I am currently in. But from what I saw in my graduating class, the girls were being offered engineering jobs in more R&D positions that are located in cities. Now I don't know if my situation translates well to othe…

Endgame of Munchkin is really fun when everyone else beefs up the monster card to keep the player from winning. I have seen a potted plant win 65 to 64!

I love meeting the random people at airport bars! Everyone there is usually traveling alone desperately wanting to tell someone about their travels, including myself when I sit down. The longer the layover, the better because the same conversation may continue the whole time with new different people coming and going, lending their opinions. I have even gotten job interview offers from CEO's that I run into sometimes. As for picking up women, it is bit harder, but not for any technique reasons. …

They counter it by favoring female engineers. If you are a woman with an engineering degree, all you have to do is think about filling up your car with gas, and you are OFFERED the job.

Who are these people that think dancing isn't running game? I've gotten girls home from the dance floor without more than a couple of sentences of conversation but a fair amount of dancing. It's really funny when you get to know the person solely through the dance and find out their name on the way out the door with them. The only thing I try to avoid is the small dance circle; the mixture of semi-conversation and dancing between the couple of people is not good. You can't get the full strength …

The OP made a point based on observation that guys don't use physical communication and I was making a point that the rough-housing, horseplay, and physical sports may be forms of physical communication that guys learn and grow with.

What about rough-housing and horseplay between guys? It is very acceptable to fake punch other guys and tackle. It usually builds friendships. Edit: This statement pertains more to when guys are growing up.

I think your comment should have been it's own comment to the thread. Vampireslayer, The_Turbinator, and I all already are not surprised by the community. Parts of your comment seem very defensive, and I don't know why when my comment was more of a humorous jab at disaster and action movies.

I usually find that society has never really told me how to get the girl. It always seems like society dictates how to keep a girl but never how to act in a realistic first impression setting. I guess the closest society has offered advice is to get stuck in some type of disaster setting and the nearest attractive girl will automatically be my love interest.

Good advice, but stupid failed examples. Two of the failed examples were of dates that were planned by the girl. He claims that he was at fault for not following the C's but I think the girls were at fault since they were the ones pursuing the guy. He is too hard on himself for failures that he couldn't plan for. (I guess that means lack of control, but if you aren't setting up the plans for the date, I think you should just relax and enjoy the outing.)

Building and mining need many blue collar skills that the average person may not know; and as others have said, they are not low paying. I work in the oilfield and we work long, hard, and dangerous hours and make more than 70k a year with salary and bonuses.

Either she is trying to lure you back as a customer or you genuinely found a potential. For this scenario, prepare for seduction next week. It should be easier than most since she has already been opened. Can't say you did anything wrong; it was close to bar close and you seemed to answer smoothly.

I don't understand how people think that there can be a blanket ban on a type of group from existing? Our constitution protects these fraternities and the sororities. If we cannot ban the KKK, then these organizations cannot be banned.

This leads to Ted getting laid more often than the instigator of the prank. This is half the reason why I don't get to use this at all at the bar. My friends are too jealous to use it to help me. The other half is that they are too shy and scared to let me use it to help them.

Although it's just a TV show, Barney in How I Met Your Mother isn't allowed to magic tricks in their usual bar anymore. They would write it so it worked when he used them, but it was framed to be obnoxious and too cheesy. As much alpha they make Barney, it is just a TV show with a magical bar where single women continuously go to drink by themselves!

If in the US, they might not like that you are not at least 21 because that destroys their ability to go to bars with you.
