But say she says "you're terrible (at x)" because that situation arose, I like to answer "haha yeah, but wait till you hear me sing. Then you'll know true terror". It makes it seem like I'm not trying hard to show them how awesome I am in a "I need to win them over" kind of way. Which I don't. And who knows, maybe they'll marry one day. If you can stow away your ego and pride, your friendship shouldn't be in any danger. I'd even say it will make you bond more.
