I think those questions are mostly pretty weird, and sometimes too direct. I like to get to know someone by being around them, not asking questions about themselves. If you’re feeling awkward, just remind yourself that awkwardness isn’t a bad thing. It’s predictable. It’s ordinary. And then just fumble your way through. I like observational conversation. Observe what she ordered to drink. Observe the settings and people around you. Tell her what you think of them or ask what she thinks of them..…

Yeah. I mean it sucks that it’s not so simple, but I had a girl keep flaking and cancelling on me. I was actually pretty annoyed, but didn’t let it show. Eventually we became great FWBs and she wanted a relationship and I didn’t. I’m really glad I didn’t just cut her out, though. Of course, someone might also be flaky because they’re truly not interested. I would just be careful not to assume anything.

Ugh. I'm actually upset by your post. It's hard enough approaching women without the chance that you're made to feel like an asshole just for wanting to connect with another human being.

The line between "This creepy guy won't leave me alone" and being Ryan Gosling in The Notebook. Like he said, no one to hit the eject button.

I don't know any respectable women who tell polite, respectful men to fuck off. So if a woman tells you to fuck off, it either means she's got problems, so it doesn't matter what she thinks, or you were too aggressive and you totally deserved it.

So many of these answers just turn the table and suggest OP work on herself when in fact they know nothing about OP. It's pretty weird, some sort of superficial "Oh I'm quality so you have to qualify yourself to me" bullshit. In regards to the original question, what type of guy do you see being a a part of your life? Do you have that well defined, because that would provide some clues. Really, though, good guys can be anywhere. The perfect guy might be next to you in the grocery store but if he…

Vulnerability is tough. It just feels so hardwired to give a fuck what others think, particularly super fine babes that make your chest thump. :/

Can't you be attracted to a woman by the way she moves or looks at something? It's the same thing. People can read a lot into a person, and if you're good (or interesting) looking and have an intelligent gaze, they'll read positive things into the mystery you've provided. I don't consciously try to be the strong silent type in the corner, but I'm just not that affable with strangers. I go to bars to have fun but then I find drunk people who are staying stupid things and so I end up retreating to…

I suck at piano, but I can play two songs well. And girls fucking dig it! It's weird to me that it works so well, but it does.

It's possible OP isn't a great conversationalist, too intent on impressing and entertaining which might work for some but certainly not everyone. Or maybe the girl just likes to be dominant, which is different than wanting to control a guy.

Lose the shame... no one gives a shit but you, and in the words of Dr. Suess, "Those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter." Of course, you are narrowing your dating pool but that's a different matter.

We're all ordinary people. If you go up to any stranger and say, "Have you ever been broke? Have you ever been to a funeral of a loved one? Have you been touched by cancer? Have you been touched by addiction? Have you ever not liked what you saw in the mirror?" the answer will probably be yes on at least a couple. We often imagine this big wall of separation between ourselves and others, but in reality we're less different than you think. That "other" person is so scary because you've given away…
