Nobody knows what anybody is truly like inside. That's the point.

Well, your view may be skewed by the fact that a man with any degree of tact will not reveal those attitudes to a woman he wants to sleep with, even if he holds them himself. It would make sense that it never occurred to you until you came to reddit, given that the vast majority of men reserve these discussions for the pseudonymous internet rather than having them in real life.

What are you talking about? You open with "now this sounds BS" and spend the rest of your post saying things that don't really have anything to do with my comment that you replied to. What does partying have to do with it?

That is more than a theory imo, I've seen numerous posts over the years from various ex-feminists saying that exact thing. "I had a son and now I see how nonsensical I used to be." It's pretty much become a trope at this point, in the places where they leave these posts.

People who have never had casual sex need to stop putting it on a pedestal and acting like it’s an impressive feat lol the guy doesn’t have a harem if all the girls he’s banging have harems of their own You don't know me nor my experiences, and acting as if you do is showing your true colors. I'll agree to disagree with you. See ya.

He’s not “managing” anything if the women are not committed to him. He is though, he is managing multiple women's impressions of him and the logistics involved in keeping them all around and spending time with them while still managing his own life. In actual harems the women are forced to be sexually loyal and commited And that is why the above commenter called it a "soft harem"

I dont consider myself overwhelming, and neither, I think, do most people. But some do. Some people also think negative things about you as well. Doesn't make them all correct, does it? Why is it not possible to have a true reason for something as well as a false reason that one presents to the public? You can't determine if an action was "for pleasures sake" based on the reasons that the actor gives for his actions. Unless you and the actor are the same person.

How is "self improvement" the same as "the Patriarchy" as defined by feminists? Of course different people have their own definition, but I've yet to hear a single person to define "the patriarchy" in a way that would include self improvement.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/19 12:44 AM
2

You assume patriarchy means unequal, which is not correct. I do? For example, since female body on average worth more than male body, rape male should be punished less I bet you don't have any sort of factual basis for your claim in the first part of this sentence. And if you don't, the second half of your sentence becomes an absurd claim based on your subjective opinion. Which is fine, so long as you acknowledge what it is. An measurement of equality is the "veil of ignorance", that is, would y…

Whats a sign it ended? Just start looking for metrics that show it's fucking gone too far and correct them. And in your opinion, those metrics would be?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/19 12:35 AM
2

In the UK, there are crimes that a man can commit, but a woman cannot. Ex: rape. That is, by definition, INequality under the law. As long as any degree of inequality under the law exists, it is 100% accurate to say "We do not have equality under the law." That said, you lost me with the rest of your post. Not sure what conservatism has to do with anything, and not sure how you got "when can we get back to 'normal'?" from what I wrote. Do you believe that the Patriarchy exists as commonly define…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/19 12:33 AM
1

Metric that led to your belief that the patriarchy does in fact exist as defined. Maybe I misunderstood, but earlier you said that you don't deny that we live in a patriarchy. Realistically, that very same metric (or set of metrics) should be able to be used to monitor when the patriarchy has ended.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/19 12:27 AM
1

I didn't call you a feminist. And that is not a metric. That view is specifically why I asked what was asked.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/19 12:23 AM
1

There IS no feminist headquarters, so posts by self-described Feminists on Feminist-focused message boards should absolutely be considered for the purpose of this conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/19 12:14 AM
1

According to recent Gallop polls, a large percentage of women who self-report "I support equal rights for men and women" specifically choose not to self-report "I support Feminism" It seems that the women who you have in mind may not self-described as feminists.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/19 12:12 AM
1

The law (generally) gives everyone equal rights, sure, but governments sure aren't budgeting accordingly. Men's homeless shelters receive less funding than women's shelters even when homeless men significantly outnumber homeless women. Many activists justify this fact by pointing toward patriarchy theory and the structural disadvantages that these women face, saying that they deserve more funding because of their disadvantages under the patriarchy. In the UK, women occasionally get to evade jail…

/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/19 11:52 PM

Not this. The very definition that (s)he shared with us seems to confirm that receiving special advantages that are not available to others is privilege, just like the bird in this example.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/19 05:02 PM
1

By the definition you just shared, a bird in a cage who is provided for IS privileged The bird receives a special advantage that is only available to a particular bird or group of birds. Seems pretty straightforward to me. How do you come to the conclusion that the bird is not privileged based on that definition?

Just because there are no useful statistics available that will help you answer the question doesn't mean anecdotes gain the ability to determine the truth. Anecdotes are better than nothing, sure, but it is still quite impossible to prove an answer to that question in either direction without some sort of dataset to refer to.

Why is dismissing "studies" better than dismissing the particular studies that have problematic methodology? Disregarding the results of a study just because some unrelated scientist falsified data in another study does not seem too rational imo. Would you be more open to consider the results of a study that had been replicated a few times? Or one that is based on the observation of behavior instead of a self-report survey?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/19 03:41 AM
1

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating for censorship at all. I would never want to prevent somebody from posting just because they don't have a peer reviewed study, I'm more advocating for people to potentially self-censor arguments that may not be the best in favor of better arguments. My communication is not the best so I hope that my post did not come across like one advocating censorship.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the replication of studies a necessary part of the scientific method?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/19 01:06 AM
1

Yeah but it would be silly to just dismiss "studies" because of that. If a particular study is flawed, one can point out why they think so. But dismissing science as a whole just because people falsify studies seems like an overreaction.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/19 01:01 AM

Can't that be figured out by reading the methodology of the study and critiquing it based on that?

I don't expect anybody to do anything. But if a person values truth, and wants to ensure that their worldview is actually based on facts, then that person should naturally want to cite their arguments. No? That being said, I totally understand that people just may not have the time or desire to dig up a study that they read before so they can justify themselves to strangers. Agreed that it is a lot of effort. It is up to the individual to decide if they want to cite their arguments, but that does not change the fact that an argument without citations is not a sound argument. Thing is though, if a commenter actually knows what they claim to know, it shouldn't take much more than 10 seconds to find the study on Google. Pavlov would say that you don't need a "reward structure" for it to be a reward. Of course she isn't responsible for his behavior, nobody said anything to the contrary. But that doesn't change the fact that she is reinforcing the behavior thru her actions and reinforcing the idea in his mind that his behavior is more than acceptable. Was that her intent? No. But did it happen? Yeah. It is just like Pavlov ringing the bell and making the pets salivate. If Pavlov says, "I don't want these dogs to …

Your height matters for certain things (eg. basketball), and you can't change it. Shouldn't =/= doesn't. Saying something doesn't matter just because you can't change it only helps you feel better about not being able to change it. Honestly, having been both blue pill and red pill at different points in my life, I will say that I got laid a whole lot more when I was acting in accordance with RP beliefs. Just because there are a few virgins who like to talk themselves up in the RP community doesn't mean everybody is like that. Just like a couple militant feminists do not mean that all feminists hate men. You're just judging the group based on the traits of the obnoxious individuals that you happen to notice. Also, FWIW, if …

Not sure where you got this "Not being a doormat" thing, nobody said anything about being a doormat. The statistic is that women initiate ~4/5 of divorces. Says nothing about doormat, so I'm curious if you could point us to the data that allows you to confidently state that bad husbands are the reason for this incredibly unequal distribution of divorce filings. Sure, some of those women who initiated divorces likely were sick of being mistreated. But to claim that is the sole reason for the vast…

No. Stop deliberately misrepresenting my words. They are right there for everyone to read.

Have you never met people who exhibit none of those traits that you mentioned? I know I have, and I feel for those people. Not sure anyone here ever said "beautiful people are protected from tragedy"but if they did I missed that part. You're right, that would be dumb.

While that is true, they do get to talk with a person who is willing to listen (stories I've read from escorts seem to suggest that this is more commonplace than anyone really expects) and get to experience the health benefits of human touch, even if it is fleeting. The idea that this does not solve "any" problems for leftover men is kinda just false.

Tragedy befalls us all. Some people are born with/into certain traits/characteristics that make their lives easier in ways that they could not possibly perceive. Both sentences can be true. They aren't mutually exclusive at all.

I got thru a dui checkpoint with a hotboxed vehicle and I'm 99% sure I wouldn't have if I hadnt been with a cute girl who knew how to work it. She also used to get cigarettes for us from random dudes whenever we would go out drinking. Good times, I miss that girl.

Yes, I'm simply wording it in a way that doesn't make me sound like I'm salty. (See the other reply to your comment, for example.) My focus is solely on pointing out the lack of egalitarianism without making any generalizations about large groups of people.

Equality for all, that is the point. I'm not commenting on whether or not I think a touch should be deemed assault, I'm simply commenting on the fact that the sex of the toucher should have zero bearing in determining what the consequences should be. My opinion is formed because I have witnessed multiple women bragging about grabbing guys butts in bars. One said "because I am a girl and can get away with it" which is the farthest thing from equality that I can imagine. That is what I take issue …

And then there is making sure you understand that race =/= culture before you get on your soapbox crying racism. Jesus, you would expect that someone would bother to learn what different words mean before trying to use them to demean others.

Hey look, another person who calls racism in a discussion that never even touched on race. What else is new.

It's almost like people behave more "appropriately" when the surrounding people are part of their social network. People are shittier in large anonymous cities, because consequences (social, criminal, or otherwise) are easier to evade.

Man here, I would consider it a sexual assault because I support equality under the law. Anything else would be INequality under the law, which I am against.

I don't agree with your reasoning here, most men don't have much in terms of options, so they try to lock down the first good-enough option that they find. Doesnt necessarily make them "blue pill cucks", just kinda makes them normal men. Even if 100% of males on the planet took the red pill, there would still be plenty of men with limited options.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
