Oh, sorry! I thought that if I didn't link it was ok. Actually, could you please just leave the post like it is? I feel that I already got the answer that I needed, so I would prefer that it stays off. Thank you!

I understand and appreciate all your advice. I hope he's the one because we've done many intimate things together that I feel really uncomfortable just thinking about doing them with another person. Thank you, once again, for your time.

Reassure her that you aren't jumping into any shotgun weddings I think that's her biggest fear. She married a guy after ~6 months after meeting him when I was six. It lasted 2 weeks. But we're planning to get married after college, so 3-4 years down the road. Plenty of time to decide! Ask her to please not ruin a good thing you have going. Yes, I will - thank you for your reply. It's good to read advice from older people with successful relationships :)

I know it sounds like I'm being a control freak, but I've seen my mother suffer SO MUCH with failed relationships, I don't want to end up like that! That's why I'm sounding so desperate... And things don't always go according to plan. I think you'll find that the best approach is just to let this unfold naturally while pursuing your education and keeping an open mind. Yes, thank you. I think continued therapy is a smart idea - honestly, therapy is great for everyone Yes, it's great. My therapist…

6 months is not LT. Sorry. No no, I said that after 6 months it can be considered a LT in my opinion. But it doesn't matter, that's not the point of the discussion. I have no idea what the Brazilian army is like, so I'll go with your facts. If you would like I can show you some resources, but I would have to translate them. But 3rd wave feminism is cancer. Yeah. I've lost friends because I disagreed with some of their opinions.

Is it something about the artistic type that means they're harder to pin down? Not necessarily, but to explain myself better, I'm transferring from a graphic design degree to a STEM one (Computer Engineering). The guys in my classes were more liberal - prone to drug use, didn't like to be tied down, sex with anything that had a vagina, and a minority had some deep mental problems. STEM majors tend to be more ambitious and healthy, but again, the minority are the "No gurlzzz allowed!!1 Boy's club…

That's a boyfriend not a long term anything yet. Hm... really? In my opinion after 6 months it can be considered long-term... What country? That might invalidate some of my previous opinions. Brazil. Yeah, it's not a fairy tale, he has an uncle that graduated from the same school and he has all of those benefits. His grandpa was treated in the best hospital because of the health care plan. No... he's your new boyfriend. I find it cute to be all cheerleader-type and call him Captain, he likes it.…

Huh, I see. It's fun to think about the future but I'm being too hasty. Thank you.

Hi! I don't know if I'll be of much help but I'll try. Try asking about his future. What he plans to do, if he has a backup plan if the first one doesn't work, and so on. If he stutters a lot, like "uh... I don't know" etc, that's a red flag. Now, the future is uncertain, but generally you can know the difference between a person who doesn't have any ambitions from a "well, I want to do X, but if it doesn't work out I'll Y". Second red flag: drugs. DO NOT get involved with any hardcore drug user…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
