It was very hard for me. And my cousin who cruised right through it is getting a celebration. So did a lot of my classmates. I don’t necessarily want a party, I just want to know someone would be proud enough to do something like that for me.

My parents are helping organize my little cousin’s grad party next weekend. They never did anything like that for me when I graduated high school. It took me two extra years to graduate and I think they were too ashamed and embarrassed to make it an event. It’s making me feel like shit. Not even my parents cared. And now they’re going above and beyond for my cousin. Yeah, she’s going to a good college and deserves the party, but my own parents didn’t even care that I graduated high school, which…

He’s just so young, it breaks my heart seeing him go back and forth between homes. They also have another young baby together.

He’s the only guy who has ever paid any attention to me.

My husband’s son took his divorce really hard and wanted to spend more time with both of his parents at once. They didn’t end on horrible terms so they agreed and about twice a month they’ll go out and do something together as a family. They went out tonight for dinner. As I was rocking our baby back to sleep, I came to the realization that I don’t even care if he’s still fucking her. I don’t think he is but the idea of it doesn’t hurt me. I would be hurt if he was still very emotionally involve…

Hearing men talk about how easy it is for women to date makes me realize that unattractive women like myself are invisible to them. For years I was ignored by men and laughed at or degraded when I tried to start a conversation or ask them out. I was a virgin until I met my husband when I was twenty-six. Yes, I did manage to get married, but it’ll never be like the marriages of attractive women. Men who are in love with beautiful women will go above and beyond for them. They’ll plan elaborate vac…

As a woman I guess that’s not something I care about. I don’t care about how many women a guy has been with as long as he’s kind to me and treats me right.

I guess asshole means different things to us. I call that type ‘assholes’ because as an unattractive amputee, they’ve never been nice to me. That’s not the kind of man I’d want to be with. My husband is in his 40s and stays in shape, but knows it’s not a competition and doesn’t let it take over his life. He’s grown up. I’m in my 20s and most guys aren’t that pleasant to be around. I wouldn’t want a guy that is mean to unattractive girls but the complete opposite with attractive ones.

I see it a lot IRL and online. At the gym I go to, I’ve been stared at and told I don’t belong by guys like that. I’m an amputee and I’m trying to lose weight and it really kills the confidence.

I’ve been getting into the gym with my husband so I see a lot more gym stuff social media. There’s a lot of bodybuilders ages 18-23 who complain about how they lift and look good but still can’t get a girlfriend, but they act like such assholes all the time. Maybe it’s how you act, not your physique. I’d rather be with a nicer but less in shape guy than an asshole bodybuilder.

Myself, really. My life has been in a perpetual state of disappointment since I was a teenager.

I finally worked up enough courage to go to the gym with my husband. Some gym-bro guy and his GF (both my age, ~ Mid-20s) were staring at me and giggling. I have a prosthetic leg and it’s been hard to get into exercise. Of course I started crying and my husband (Mid-40s) told the guy and his girlfriend to get lost. I used to be sad that I never had a boyfriend my age, but now I’m glad I never did. No guy that age has ever been nice to me.

I was still attracted to him when we went out so I don’t think it’s settling.

I’ve come to realize that I’m not settling. He may be older but he’s my prince charming. I can see now that the guys I wanted didn’t want me, so I regret spending so much time trying to get a date with one. Those guys date pretty thin blondes and that’s not who I am. My husband wanted me, he pursued me. He’s the person who wanted me, and I didn’t necessarily want him at first, but now I love him.

My dad has told me they don’t like the age gap but they seem to get along with him okay. I think they just feel weird that he’s so close in age to them.

I wish my parents liked my husband more. They knew I was very unsuccessful while dating and he’s the first guy who I ever got intimate with. They don’t like that he’s older (he’s 46 and I’m 27) but they’re happy that I’ve found someone. A lot of my family met him when I had our baby and they were visibly uncomfortable and disapproving. It’s frustrating sometimes.

The first guy I ever kissed is my husband, so one.

Would any men here consider being in a serious relationship with an amputee? I lost my left leg just below my knee when I was in my early teens. I’m not very limited anymore and I can do pretty much anything a normal person can. I’m very self-conscious about it sometimes. I’m in my twenties and it’s unusual to see someone my age with a missing limb. I’m married to the only guy who could look past it and give me a chance. He’s in his forties and has matured more than men my age so he’s more under…

Husband’s ex-wife stopped by to pick up their kids for the week. Every time I see her I lose what little confidence I had. She’s attractive and has a good career, she’s everything I want to be. My husband went from being married to a blonde with a model’s looks to a chubby, ginger amputee. I’ve looked worse lately because we just had a baby. I don’t know what he sees in me.

I’ll pass. I used to live near an Indian reservation. Most of the kids didn’t have a dad around, all the men were alcoholic deadbeats. So many people would OD. It was a scummy place. I’m glad I don’t live near there anymore.

He’s not controlling and we make decisions 50/50. Some decisions I have more say than him and vice versa. I plan on leaving work to be a SAHM.

He won’t be dead at sixty-five. I try not to worry about thirty years in the future because I want to enjoy right now. Why would I throw away decades of happiness because he’ll die someday?

What other choice did I have? I didn’t get pregnant on purpose, my alternative was abortion and I couldn’t do that.

He was my first boyfriend and we met this year. I got pregnant and we got married. I’m not particularly good looking so he’s the first guy who’s given me a chance.

It happened just a few days ago. My first date at age 26. It was great until he said he didn’t want to go on another date and started sobbing. Driving home I pulled over and threw up because I was crying so hard. I can’t believe I actually thought something good was going to happen :(

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
