And my solution is to fix that average lifespan difference, rather than coming up with bizarre ways to attempt to peg retirement age to lifespan, which would also need to account for disparity in population (working and otherwise), on top of which weird issues would occur with people earning different amounts and thus paying in different amounts; the model to actually balance all of this becomes incredibly complex, incredibly quickly.

Well, if trial by combat was suddenly legal again there would be a short-term rash of killings, but everyone would become really polite to one another after. Disclaimer < (Mouseover) Sometimes I think Chivalry only really existed because it outlined rules of behavior to avoid people getting stabbed as frequently as they could have been. That may not be what is going on; English does not have a gender-ambiguous singular pronoun. It only has a gender-neutral singular pronoun. That means that in the singular case the person speaking must assume a gender, when talking about people. I am guessing they are using various surveys to try to discover an equivalence "true" rape rate, then comparing that to the actual reported rate. In which the are making an insane error in analysis by dividing a projected value from a sample population by a another value from a different sample population.

The issue with this disagreement stems from a simple misunderstanding. Feminism wants to mean that women should be treated in the same way as men under the same circumstances. But empirically, that is not what the gestalt median or mean positions of modern feminism boil down to. Nor is it what they have achieved, and are seeking to further. And this is the problem.

Part of the reason is the overloading of the term "respect." It simultaneously is used to mean treating someone "with common decency" as well as "treating someone as worthy of respect" (as in above and beyond common decency).
