Better to be transparent then have a girl go on a date with me and have them wonder why I don't notice any social cues, and why it's hard for me to make direct eye contact with them

I'm of Middle Eastern descent and I openly state on my Hinge profile that I'm autistic. Guess I'm screwed, (even though I had just re-downloaded the app three days ago)

Cold approaching with the idea of getting in to a relationship doesn't work, but I've had some great conversations by talking to people I didn't know out in public, and have even found a really good female friend that way. It also helped me IMMENSELY with my social anxiety, and now I feel like I can talk to just about anyone

I just want something more intimate than a platonic relationship. I'm 20 and I still haven't been on a date, kissed anyone, or held anyone's hand. These are things that my brain is just hardwired to want, I don't know what to say

I just really want a GF.... That's all there is to it

My biggest fear is making them uncomfortable, and having them think I'm a creep. I'm autistic, so I'm not the best at socializing, but I also have anxiety, so I have this fear constantly whenever I think about approaching women.

I have a female friend, and when we get together, we click so well. We can talk for hours about anime and manga, video game lore, music, theatre, art, life. We just fully get lost in our conversations, it's wonderful spending time with her. Even though our relationship is completely platonic because I'm not attracted to her, and she's aromantic, I would love to have that sort of "chemistry" with a significant other, even if it's not the type your talking about in your post

I ran in to her 4ish months ago while voting for a provincial election. I asked if we could stay in touch, and even messaged her the day after. She didn't respond, but that's fine. It was nice to see her again very briefly I guess

The thing is, I think people with access to more options when it comes to dating will drop someone right away if they didn't feel a "spark" because they know they can find someone later who will be interested in them. I didn't feel much of a spark after meeting a girl last week, because I felt our conversations were dry and unengaging. Because I really like her though, and want this to work out, I'm planning a second get together with her, with a planned fun activity, (playing board games), and …

I think she's really cute, and I still get butterflies when I see her messages, and I think she has some form of attraction towards me, so I really just want this to work out. I really do

I... sort of get it. I went on a meet up with a girl after messaging her a bunch, (almost everyday for three weeks), but when we finally met, there just wasn't any chemistry. The "spark" wasn't there. I want to keep seeing her though, because this is the closest I've been to getting in a relationship, and I had to overcome so much to get to this point, so I'm hoping that if we meet up again, there will be more of a connection.

The best relationships (I would assume), are the ones where both parties initiate at the same time, since then the feelings are mutual from the start

I think I might have been given a signal for the first time yesterday. Before class started, one of my classmates legitimately started at me for like 8 seconds. It almost felt like it would have been weird if I didn't go up to talk to her after that. When I did go near her, she started talking to me, and even let her hand out for me to shake. Maybe I'm paranoid and this this wasn't a signal, I don't know, I'm on the spectrum or whatever.

I think it's because the person approaching is more interested than the person being approached.

I don't care if/how I get rejected, as long as I didn't make anyone uncomfortable

Bruh, I don't even want to date women more than one year younger than me as a 20 year old. I think my preferences are women between 19-24, but I'm hoping my preferences mature as I get older

I've been compensating for my lack of romantic experience by slowly getting over my crippling fear and anxiety of approaching. Also, lots of people aren't able to get in relationships easily, so they spend a lot of their time and effort into trying to get in one

I'm so afraid of making women uncomfortable that my anxiety prevents me from approaching women, but when I do, I try to be as nuetral, considerate, and indirect as possible

I mean, I would love to make small talk, or join in on their conversation, but I also don't want to look like I'm intruding, or look suspicious, so I sometimes just dont say anything ):

I already have quite a few guy friends, and even a few lady friends. I'm really trying to hone in on getting a date/relationship. Maybe I could try asking one of my friends to come along with me and sit with me next to girls/guys at lunch. That could potentially help reduce my anxiety. Thanks for the advice!

I try to ask groups of people, (mostly girls), if I can sit next to them during lunch, since people usually feel safer being approached in a group environment compared to being approached alone. These groups sometimes, (but not always), include men

I hate approaching so much. I've been trying to ask girls if I can sit next to them during lunch just to desensitise myself to cold approaching, and it's like giving myself a heart attack everyday. If they say yes, I usually just eat my lunch in silence and then leave, because my anxiety completely takes over, and I don't want to come off like a creep. It sucks.

Idk. Most people I know who are in relationships aren't "chads", they're just average looking. I'd just like to have a similair experiance to what they have.

Yes. Yes I would. I have not had any success finding anyone to date yet, so I would date the first girl who shows interest in me honestly

Well, a few weeks ago, I met this girl at school who I spent the whole day with working on a project and througjout that time, I wanted to ask her for her number, but I couldn't because I could not find an "indirect" way to ask. I actually explained this scenario on a previous post on this subreddit, (granted, I wrote that previouse post from the perspective of also missing out on a potential friendship with this person due to not asking for her number, but still)

One thing that has made approaching a bit easier for me is approaching with the mindset of just getting to know someone more, which has eased my stress a bit, and is a better way to recontextualise the non-direct approach, but I still don't know how to approach with the intent of showing romantic interest in a non-direct way that still gets the point across, while also not making the recipient uncomfortable. It feels like there's a rule set that I'm just missing

That's the thing though, if she wasn't interested in talking to me, then she would have tried to find an excuse to end the conversation with me, but she didn't. We probably talked for more than 20 minutes through out the day, and she was asking me as many questions as I was asking her. I'm not saying she was attracted enough to me to want to go on a date, (probably not), but I feel like there would have been a 90 percent chance that she would have given me her number if I just asked and we could…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/23 07:35 AM

What are some higher percentage chances for getting a date/relationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/23 07:28 AM

I'm fully aware that these aren't dates, and try to be as casual as possible when I go hang out with a girl, especially if they are already my friend and are unavailable

That's the long game hopefully. If I have a large enough friend group/social circle, then, I'll be able to meet more people, and hopefully one of those people could be single and interested in a relationship. But it all starts with a number, and just trying to get to know someone

Honestly, my anxiety has prevented me from properly asking girls out on dates. Closest I've gotten was asking a girl if she wanted to go out, and then she told me she was not interested in dating afterwords. I have gone on a few one on one hang outs with girls though

Friends are just as, if not more important than dates and relationships. From grade 8-11 I had to do school entirely online because my generalised anxiety prevented me from being in a classroom without being overwhelmed. Over that time, I had zero friends and contacts, and was severely depressed. I have since gotten over a lot of my anxiety around school, and take all of my classes in person, and I now have a decently sized social circle of people that care about me, and enjoy being around me, a…
