I'm fairly new to TRP, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but as OP mentioned, being beta isn't inherently bad. Some beta traits were the traits that kept women around. Why would a woman want to stay with a purely alpha guy when he can't afford to feed himself let alone her? That said, depending on what type of game you're aiming to achieve, leaning to one side of the alpha/beta scale would play to your advantage
