Yes I completely agree with your first point! Exactly what I am trying to say. My main focus is to show how men can be equal nurtures, and this separation in cases such as divorce should not happen. Thank you for the response! I know that is a real issue. I’m not blaming men. Why is it that the mother gets the child? That is unfair as men are equally capable of being nurtures as are women. I was to break this idea down and make it known. Although the book depicts how men must deal with emotional burdens they have in order to be nurtures. I am not saying men are to blame for this, my argument, as well as the book touches on how men do not have emotional right which lead to all of these issue…

Thanks for your reply! I appreciate it! The book continues to talk about healing and violence... he mentions in the book that young girls are more likely to receive hugs and kisses compared to young boys. Young boys are more likely to stop being given nurturing around the age of 6-7 which could be a cause of violence in their lives, and limits them to being nurturers themselves. What do you think of this?

I understand what you are saying, I mentioned previous in this thread (I believe) young boys are cut of from hugs and kisses compared to young girls, and are told to “be men”. I think this issue needs to come to the surface. Do you think men themselves can fix those issues and become better nurtures to young boys, and change those female dominated environments, but in the process not diminishing the value of women?

In response to your first point, there seems to be a lot of anger associated with the way that men cope with emotions. I think it’s important to see the other side of coping with emotions such as talking it out and understanding why something has pissed someone off. I don’t think crying should be associated with being unstable or a bitch, I personally think it’s a mechanism to release emotions. The book begins with that story, although it touches on some very interesting topics. Some being how men feel they are stuck in particular roles, which often do not involve the ability to freely express their emotions, and that is where the burden is. I hope to bring to the surface that these roles do not have to be followed.
