I am forever extolling the confidence pill. But I admit not all brands of confidence are attractive. Quentin Tarantino is supremely (and evidently) very confident. But that brand of confident energy isn't attractive. Intuitively I understand the difference, but I'm having trouble articulating it.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. That's a deliberate choice with considered trade offs. My comment was more of a directionless grousing inspired by the patrons of the various personal finance and wealth management communities I lurk in. These are people who go to extreme lengths to build wealth through scrimping and saving and collecting credit card rewards and leveraging assets and whatnot. And that's fine, but at that point it's probably just easier to climb the corporate latter, no…

Don't have advice. I feel like I annoy my therapist lol. I'm very organized. I keep notes. I go in with a structured chart of "what went well" and "what roadblocks I encountered" and list what my goals are this coming month and the alterations to our discussed strategies that I will implement in order achieve those goals. I can tell he resents the sheer glee I take in talking about myself. Literally suggested to me last week that we go every other month instead of monthly.

Let me know how the making an entirely new group of friends thing goes as an adult. While I can understand the underlying sentiment, the changing your number thing feels super dramatic. Like you want to draw attention to the fact that you're cutting them off lol. I'm sure I'm wrong, but it reads like the "plea for help" of social distancing (in the original sense of the term). You could just stop talking to them lol.

I can kind of get it. I'm on the younger end of the millennial spectrum, but the bulk of our generation were entering the job market in the wake of the financial meltdown. I can see how those relentless headlines of "OMG millenials aren't getting married and buying houses" would irritate someone with a mountain of debt and zero immediate job prospects. This was before reasonable people had developed their clickbait filter, too. Nowadays we see headlines like that and immediately know it's dising…

I knew a guy who didn't have some particular problems with getting dates, but all girls were dumping him after just a few Lol that could be me. I'm weird in a substantially different way from your friend (never done a sexist rant - at least not on reddit I guess), but still very much weird in my own way. The thing is, I know better. But I can't seem to help it. I guess it's a pathological need to impose my weirdo sense of humor on everyone around me lol

I've always been prejudiced against him because he's a "DO" as opposed to an "MD." That means he went to an osteopathic school, which is basically just inferior med school for people that couldn't get into a real one. Horribly snooty I know. But when it comes to medicine I think we're allowed some leeway in our snootiness. And I don't really consider DOs 100% authentic doctors.

I feel like personal "financial strategy" is a bit of a crutch. Sure, living below your means and avoiding debt is a good way to otherwise get ahead. And catastrophic financial habits will leave you broke regardless of your income. But at a certain point you're leaving so much on money on the table. If it's taking you 4 years to save 20k, the energy spent micromanaging your personal finances would be better spent targeting a higher income. I can respect making the most of what you have. But if m…

Lol exactly. Which is why I would think it would be pretty unique to heterosexual dynamics. Like male thirst enables women to be picky and encourages men to be less picky, and thus "women are hypergamous." I can't imagine how it works out when sex drives are leveled.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/20 01:57 AM

This is just how sexual selectivity for guys works. Most guys don't realize it. Yes we're thirsty for nearly every girl out there, but we tend to only pick up signs and/or summon the courage to make a move with the girls that really move us. Like, yeah, some guys might not realize how much attention they're getting in general, but nearly every guy will pick up attention they're getting from someone they genuinely dig. Like in that case it's more likely that the guy actually will imagine signs th…

There’s always this tension. Should I change? vs Is this person incompatible with who I truly am? I think you just need to pick the changes that would improve your life and discard the ones that don’t, and hold out for the person who is compatible with the person you’d like to be, not necessarily the person you are currently. I tend to be in a state where I jump through these 1-2 month flings. I’m usually never the one that ends it and it ends when the girl gets to know me lol. But it doesn’t bo…

Your 9’s are 10’s, your 8’s are 9’s and your 7’s are 6’s. You missed the real 7, which is well groomed and facially attractive but not full figured. 8 is very pretty. 9 is very hot. 10 is both. Straight up beautiful. Trust me on this. I’ve been judging women for how they look my entire life.

I feel like you’re missing a step between 7 and 8. By the way IMO the comical sanctity of the 10 in any rating system is the biggest stupid cowardly low life tendency I see on Reddit. 10’s exist. Archetypal beauties. Rare, sure. Attractive enough that their beauty is a defining feature of their lives, yes. But 10’s exist and you encounter them and the 10 absolutely has a place in a rating system that goes from 1-10. Otherwise it’s 1-9 a rating system. The 10 doesn’t exist just to elevate the 9. …

It’s the last 7-10 pounds that are hard. When you’re significantly overweight it’s much easier. When I was 60 pounds overweight, it took me almost as much time to lose the last 10 as it took to lose the first 50.

Okay but in my defense I was being silly. Like the idea of a fat person - and I genuinely was fat - losing weight and suddenly advocating for the shaming of fat people seemed, on the face of it, patently ridiculous. Sheesh. I didn’t realize there was a legit use case for that mentality lol
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/20 04:11 PM

I've been poor and I've been rich in my life. It's way easier to get laid when you're poor tbh. Like as long as you're not DEAD broke, you'll still get to chill with poor girls. And the thing about poor girls is that they ARE SO LOOSE. Now I live in a city where all the young single women make like 150k+. It's a nightmare lol because their standards are so freaking high. They don't give a fuuuuuuck about how much money you make really. Don't get me wrong. They won't date poor people. But being e…

You can stamp your feet and if it makes you feel better, go for it. Women do not have to cater their lives to your personal preferences. The flips side is that you don’t have to either. If you want to hold out for a woman that shares your values, nobody will stop you nor should they.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/20 06:06 PM
2

It is an opinion. It’s how you feel. I shared how I feel and you feel differently.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/20 06:04 PM
2

Well it might be unacceptable to you. You can’t speak for other people. But you can speak for yourself and you can believe and feel how you want. Here’s the thing. If you feel one way it’s very easy to believe at first that other people must feel the same way. And if they say they don’t, they are just “kidding themselves.” But it’s just wrong. Because you learn that other people are capable of feeling differently. And you learn that you can only expect to speak for how you feel.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/20 06:00 PM
2

It’s the girls decision. My personal opinion of what she “deserves” has no bearing on her life. Nor do their opinion on what I “deserve” matters to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/20 05:58 PM
2

Would you be open to the possibility that people aren’t kidding themselves? And that maybe they just think differently? I’m a guy and I don’t at all think this view is at all commonplace among any other guy I’ve met But where does that convo get us? Nowhere. That’s why we should worry about ourselves and not other people’s personal preferences.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/20 05:56 PM
3

The difference is that society is indifferent to personal preference. Whether you like it or not. We have a universal preference to not die in the middle of the road. Your wanting virgin women is very much a personal preference. And to expect that your personal preference should also be a social dictate enshrined into law is ridiculous. You have a set of values and that’s fine. You cannot expect everyone to share those same values. And it turns out most people don’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/20 05:50 PM
1

Man people can choose to pursue what they want in life. You can only speak for yourself. No unfairness is at play.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/20 05:38 PM
2

People can decide to marry or not. It’s not unfair to men or women. You don’t get to decide whether people can choose one or the other. It’s not relevant to you. You can have your preferences and that’s fine. But they are very much personal preferences. And nobody is required to cater to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/20 05:36 PM
2

Yeah man. You’re allowed to care about a partners sexual past. I’m not saying otherwise. I just don’t get why you think that people who don’t care to adjust their behavior to better fit your ideals.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/20 05:26 PM
2

Why is it not fair? I don’t get where fairness comes into play at all. Whether a guy or girl is anxious about someone else’s sexual history appears to me to be resoundingly their own problem. I wouldn’t think you would expect people to cater their lives to your personal values. Like I find the virgin stipulation to be ridiculous, but it’s your business and your preference, and it wouldn’t be fair of me to say you can’t feel that way. But if it so happens that you have trouble meeting people that…

How old are you, if I may ask? I’m not trying to set you up or diss you. I’m just curious. it’s not fair to me This is where you lost me, brother. You have a set of values that most people just don’t share. Why would not being able to impose those values on others, who don’t feel the same way, be unfair to you? Again, not t…

Virgin women aren’t some hot commodity for anyone that isn’t possessive and/or insecure. Imagine clamoring for a girl that’s bad at sex, will fall in love immediately, and probably prudish & dry af. I think I see the appeal if you are also a virgin. But otherwise I don’t get it. And after a certain age, you’re not going to find any neurotypical adult virgins tbh. Not that they aren’t out there, just that they’re exceedingly rare.

You know, I’ve been reading about narcissistic personality disorder. The overlap with incel behavior leads me to believe that many incels are dead ringers for clinical narcissists. In a way it’s good that many of them can’t get laid. Imagine the havoc they’d cause if they were good looking.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/20 04:37 PM

This is why polling has been fucked. At some point in order to actually address the problem we need to re-enfranchise the flyover blue collar peasants. On one hand by doing so we would restore a functional democracy and stave off extremism and gridlock. On the other hand flyover blue collar peasants are gross as fuck. It’s a quandary and there are no obvious solutions.

Lol I do. And I don’t personally care for nerdy girls. But let me tell you that lifting won’t really help you with them. Being in shape, yes. Obviously. But being jacked would be to your detriment. Their dream man is a gay anime cat boy after all.

Pre-Covid you would go to board game night. But competition for the nerd girls was fiercer than the competition for normie girls. I’m talking 5:1 gender ratios at best. All the girls were slobbered after by nerdy engineers who all thought they found the one girl in their league.

Unfortunately I can no longer watch Schitt’s Creek. I’m irrationally attracted to the actress that plays Alexis. Every time she has a scene in her jogging pants I just want to pinch her clit and break her cervix. It legit hurts my enjoyment of the show. I couldn’t tell you what it is. She isn’t beautiful. As is the case with everything, it is up to you, really. The concepts of free will or determinism don't even apply to the universe. None of our ideas really do. IMO free will is just a framework to talk about life as we experience it, strictly from our perspective. You have choices every day. Whether you were always going to make those choices is irrelevant to you. You still make those choices. You can decide not to be fat. I agree that it’s really easy to be fat, and grow up fat. Because it's not the actual problem. Most people who don't have girlfriends aren't anywhere nearly as fucked up about it as the incels are. The problem is that incels have the emotional coping skills of a toddler. Not necessarily their fault, esp when anxiety and OCD come into play, but that's the actual problem. But as always incels fail to comprehend that maybe just maybe everyone else might have a point and re-examine their perspective. Instead they just double down on their convenient world …

Lol a lot of the advice given to incels is 80% correct. Incels are just incapable of understanding it because they have a mindset that allows for them to throw temper tantrums about being unfuckable. The truth is incels need to figure it out for themselves by growing the fuck up. I’m confident most do tbh. And then they’ll look back and realize the shit people were telling them was correct for the most part.

For a while my pettiest revenge against someone breaking up with me was to react outwardly shockingly well. Like my response is usually along the lines of a “ya dude it’s all good.” In my mind they are devastated by how little I care. But then I realized, wait: I’m literally just making the break up incredibly easy for them. Worst revenge ever. The next time someone breaks up with me I’m going to try hyperventilating on the floor.

How do we feel about spanking? Yay or nay? It's my biggest kink. I have met only one girl that vibed with me on that. But she also explicitly identified as a sub. Maybe other girls would have been into it too. I just have ZERO idea how to even broach the subject. I'm happy to just keep it to myself. I can be sexually fulfilled w/ more straightforward sexual shit. When it comes to spanking, I'm not talking about some hard butt swats during sex. I'm talking about full on role play with implements.…

Ya most adults figure out that the energy/time to reward ratio isn't worth it, once the novelty wears off. Committed relationships v. efficient tbh. Probably a huge part of their appeal.

I’m in my late 20’s and I have noticed a generational divide brewing between zoomer and millennial women on the Terf issue. JK Rowling was the line in the sand. Just try separating white women of my generation from their Harry Potter. They would rather picket for gender essentialism than let anyone tell them that hogwarts isn’t real.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/20 04:01 AM

I think there’s a difference between happening to be exclusive w/ someone and an expectation of exclusivity. Committed to monogamy? You got a boyfriend/girlfriend. Because you don’t make those commitments to friends. The inverse is also true. In an open mairrage? Congrats you live with your FWB & your subversion of the word “”marriage”” offends reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/20 09:25 AM

Lmao if you’re exclusive with an FWB you’re in a relationship full stop. Like congrats, you have a boyfriend/girlfriend.

I pop in and out of this sub every few months, and I swear to god I’ve read this post before. I mean it’s all samey, to an extent, but it’s so weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/20 06:29 PM

I feel like I usually can tell now. But it takes a lot trial and error. If you’re expecting a guy who has never been flirted with to really understand the difference between flirting and someone being nice, you’re literally asking for the impossible. Which you’d know with a little social EQ. Lmao women always boast about their social intelligence, but I really do wonder sometimes
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/20 06:26 PM

Lol the women who view “sex” as losing are trying to hit so above their bracket they get fuck zoned by dudes clearly out of their league. Hey ladies, guys commit all of the time. If you’re having issue with this, it’s probably because you’re not punching in your zone.

Collagen is a protein that aids skin strength and health. Some people claim the supplements prevent wrinkles and can help tighten loose skin. It’s not proven to help with loose skin at all, and idk if it actually helps, but I just took it in case it did do anything.

I get the best conversion rate and the best matches on bumble. I just get way less matches. I also low key like not having to make the opening move. Ya most girls just “hey” but I don’t have to spend a minute working out a good opening like I do on Tinder.

That’s more about fat distribution. Different people carry weight differently. Obviously it’s healthy and totally normal for women to carry a higher percentage of body fat, but chunky arms are almost always a sign someone is overweight.

/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/20 01:24 PM

While you’re no doubt correct, let’s not pretend that even if this new gen of girls is brought up strictly on Moana, we wouldn’t then see fan fiction crop up of Moana trapped on an island with Tamatoa the evil crab god, wherein she uses love to ✨mend him✨

It depends on where you live. A "good job" might not be enough, but it is a baseline for consideration. Kind of like getting goods isn't enough to get into a good college, but without them your resume is thrown into the trash. The ""easiest"" way IMO to gain status is to find a sub culture and seem "dominant" in it. Women only like men they perceive to be "better" than her, and more importantly better than other men. The thing is that "better" is subjective. You have to be "better" in regard to …

Why are the politics obsessed - like the ones that follow the minutiae of national political reporting - almost always off-putting losers IRL? I guess it's just another form of escapism. If anything it's even more annoying, since you can obsessively indulge and maintain some sort of guise that you're doing something important, as opposed to just escaping into some unchallenging, self-satisfying, masturbatory cerebral rabbit hole, which is what it is.

The random do-nothing girls who end up with doctors or the like never realize they are dating the desperate losers of the bunch. It's like when you're hanging out with an older kid and think he's cool, until you look back and realize that kid was a fucking loser with no friends his own age. The high achieving men with options tend to opt for the high achieving women in their peer group.

Where does this attitude come from, I wonder? Why chide men for having any sense of internal value or self esteem? I see this a lot. “The problem is that a lot of the men assume their lives and personhood have value, instead of just accepting the obvious fact that they’re fucking losers’” “Oh, your interests extend beyond the most petty and superficial bullshit to ever occupy a human mind? That explains a lot actually”

Either way, it’s just false. The effect that nutrition has on height is rather negligible in almost all cases.

This grinds my gears so much. Nutrition makes up for like half an inch, and that's severe lack of nutrition. It's bad enough that I guess I'm ugly because I'm short, but I hate that it gets twisted around to somehow be my fault that I'm short, cuz it's an outright lie. Short guys are not malnourished. They lost the genetic roll of the dice.

Calling yourself "blue pill" is hilarious. TRP is a Matrix reference. The red pill is "harsh reality" and "the blue pill" is the illusion. Calling yourself "blue pilled" is buying into the premise that everything you believe is wrong. The "blue pill" needs a better name. How about "normal"?

I think your average woman feels pressured to do more upkeep than your average guy. Whether that pressure comes from men or just other women, IDK. But girls are vastly tougher on immutable attributes. So by default I can't ever take women seriously when they bitch about this. Looksmatch week has me thinking. How does height dock your point total? I assume you exponentially decrease for every inch under 5’10. Let’s be generous and say I would be an 8 if I were 6’. Then I’d be a 7 at 5’10? What would I then be at my real height at 5’8? A 4/5?

And I'm saying there isn't a valid answer to that question, because I think you took the wrong message from the posts bitching about it. The key is stress. Stress is a super useful tool. Make yourself really stressed out, work yourself up in a state where you feel like a total failure until you do X. Think things like if "I can't do X I'm a fucking useless loser, and I'm going to punish myself by doing Y." Make sure to keep these thoughts on a loop. You'll get it together eventually. The secret to success is viewing stress as a challenge and not a threat.

It's basically the only thing a guy can attempt in order to become more physically attractive to women. No, it's not a silver bullet. But it's at least something we can control. I can't make myself taller, but I can at least lift. The mantra-like stuff comes from the sense that it gives guys a sense of agency in an otherwise hopeless situation. It's about more than working out. It's about trying to feel in control of your life & happiness. As is the case with most things, it's also vastly harder…

I think guys more commonly guys are just understandably frustrated at their situation. No sane person wants to force anyone to fuck someone they weren't attracted to. But it's really crushing when you're apparently unattractive to any women that you could possibly be attracted to. It makes you feel like a failure and a loser. Is it women's fault? No. It's no one's fault. It just really fucking sucks. And that's all there is to it.

Sure. I don't really view a relationship with someone I wasn't attracted to as an option. I don't know how anyone could? But just to clarify, it's not like I have crazy high standards. I find a majority of physically fit women in my age bracket to be physically attractive. But, no, I would not be interested in trying to have sex with someone I wasn't attracted to. I hear ya. You're right, it's not a smoking gun. It hasn't been for me. But I think people encourage lifting the way they do not because they actually believe it, but because it can help, and it's something productive you can do that gives you a feeling of agency. I think I'm in the camp of false hope > no hope. Which is not to say I think it's false hope per se, but it's not exactly the answer. I think it's uncontroversial to state that you're more generally attractive after lifting for a few y…

Honestly, you have to take geographic region into account. I always thought the height thing was a meme - I did just fine back home and in NYC - until I moved to SF. Sure, my observations might seem unrecognizable to someone that lives elsewhere and vice verse, but I'm not pulling it out of my ass. I actively don't want any of this to be true lol

i also feel like people can sniff it out easily and it hurts your chances I'm kind of skeptical about this. On one hand, it makes intuitive sense. Why wouldn't insecurity and lack of self-esteem, both of which are kinda unattractive un-masculine traits, manifest itself in a detectable way? But I've come to the belief that a lot of people feel insecure and inadequate and just hide it very well. I kind of think women may be even worse at detecting it, because some women seem to genuinely believe t…

lol yeah, metal and jazz won't exactly bring in the ladies. Hopefully I'll find an indie band that's open to interesting musical expression (and not just corny atmospheric elements). i feel like staying close and social with friends who have girls in their lives has to help. I could see how this would be true in theory. But sometimes I wonder if going out with them just makes me look worse in comparison. Yeah, the bay area sucks. My friends seem to be doing okay though, which makes it doubly frustrating for me. My favorite genres to play are metal & jazz. I'm not really good enough for most jazz bands though, but I've done it before. But I'm open to any genre. I've played in bands before. Whether it's fun or fruitful really depends on the other players and their process. The genre doesn't matter so much. I can bring my own thing to other genres.

I know this is probably not a thing, but I'm going to try to join a band to get laid. Conventional means aren't working, and I've been playing a lot lately just by myself. Might as well try to do something social with it, cuz it's otherwise a giant waste of time.

I appreciate what you're saying. I truly do. However, I can't accept that my situation is futile. That will drive me crazy. IDK if people realize that "lifting" is what makes guys look normal and healthy in most cases. It doesn't necessarily make you buff unless you're a dedicated hobbyist bodybuilder, and even then you won't look like the roided out examples you provided. Funnily enough the body that belongs to the """skinny guys""" you mentioned can only be achieved by working out. That's what most guys who lift look like. IDK if you've ever had the experience of being on each side, but the "sex" guy has better relationships. Some women seem to find "sexual attraction" in relationships as negotiable. I've been in a relationship where my girlfriend at the time truly did seem to "desire" to me and it was miles better than the other """relationships""" I've been in. I don't think words like "fairness" can really be applied here. I certainly don't blame women for fucking people they find really hot. I don't blame them for not finding me hot. But it's extremely irritating when I hear women scoffing at guys for ever expressing their frustration, when women categorically do not face the same issues that a massive plurality of men face. As online dating becomes more commonplace, fewer girls remain amenable to being approached in person. If you're disconnected from a social circle that has access to single girls in your age group you're totally screwed. "Online dating" is becoming the new normal. Sure, you should work on building up a social circle, but depending on the city where you live, that could take years. What are you gonna do? I'd put middle class for a single person in the SF/Bay Area between 100 - 300. Ditto for Manhattan. You really need to be making 150 or greater to really feel comfortable and still put a respectable chunk of change away each month. Under 100 you're going to have to restrict yourself to avoid living month-month. Granted, I have always defined middle class as "comfortable." The literal median income for a single person in SF is I think 100k, or close to it. But I don't think 100k is that comfortab…

I'd say that's what differentiates UMC from outright rich people actually. Basically to be "upper middle class" in a major city like SF or NYC, you need two successful people bringing in dual income. I only half agree. It's significantly easier to "fall in love" if you even subconsciously feel like your options are limited. And there is an easy gender divide per range of available options for your average man and woman.

No more than prostitution or any other elaborate forms of masturbation. The thing that crushes guy isn't the purely the drive to have sex. Cuz that can be alleviated. The drive for validation and company and the desire to feel "wanted" are what gets to guys in the long run.

oh fuck right off with your weird character judgment. No, I don't consider constantly chasing after women to be a judicious use of my time or effort when I'm perfectly happy fucking the same one or two women for a handful of months until it stops for whatever reason. That kind of effort wouldn't tangibly make my life any better, and I'd be getting laid substantially less, cuz of the constant turnover.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 02:41 AM

Who wants to fuck a chick more than once? This guy right here does. It's a lot of effort for me to constantly seek out new chicks that are down to fuck my weird 5'8 self. When you have a recurring thing, you're relieved of much of that effort. It's such a lighter cognitive load. Might even make a friend in the process too, which is nice.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 02:22 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 02:10 AM

lol I had this cheap mattress and I wrapped it in this king sized sheet that I would wash like once a month. Showered every day, wore freshly laundered clothes every, brushed/flossed all that jazz. I guess I'm trying to figure out what's the exact link between lack of furnishings and vaginas drying up. Is it the actual lack of furniture, or what the lack of furniture represents? And what does it actually represent, and how did we get from "A" to "B" so to speak?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 12:55 AM

If I saw he had nothing but a mattress on the floor I'd walk out and never contact him again. Why is that though? Out of sheer curiosity.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 12:47 AM

lolol a lot of guys just get by with the shit they need. They don't feel a great need to clutter their place up with anything other than the bare essentials. That being said, you don't do it for you, you do it for your guests.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 12:43 AM

I can see that. But then again, there are a lot of guys who wouldn't have much furniture at all "if they were being true to themselves." Furnishing & minimal decorating is more for the benefit of your guests. That being said, I found I liked my ficus quite a bit after getting it, even though the initial decision to get one was calculated. LOL MGTOW is just the snippy male equivalent to the women saying "she's over men" during an extended interval of singledom. Only the reddit tier ""men"" confuse this with some sort of social movement and actually believe it.

After I bitched about it, she picked up the slack a little, but not like I did when the roles were reversed. And then she broke up with me and is dating a dude that is either worth several millions or is at least several millions in debt. I've seen it work before, though. Honestly, if this pisses you off, just be mad at men. Men assign women this ridiculous value. But TBH, in my own workplaces, I have seen how women are devalued - sometimes fairly and sometimes unfairly - in any aspect that isn't absolutely trivial. I've also seen so many women in my lives devalue themselves on the basis of them being women. I'm not a feminist at all. I think a good chunk feminist rhetoric is tribalistic nonsense at best. This is what I've been saying. There's no such thing as an objective point average. It's all just relative to your peers. I've lived in wildly different environments, where the general attractiveness of guys and girls varied wildly respective to each environment. The result was the same. Girls like the same fixed top percentage of dudes. I feel like a "chad" when visiting my hometown. When I fly back to my city where most guys - I kid you not - are single, in shape, well paid, and vastly outnumb…

I think so. Although I'm hoping I can get it working, because it'll be a hassle to box it up again and ship it. My plan is to find the MAC address for the TV's wifi, spoof it on my laptop and set up the hotspot on my laptop. That should theoretically work. As for the HDMI outputs, I'm hoping the stupid nintendo thing is just broken. I haven't actually touched it since I bought it, and I'm hoping the dock just got busted in transit. IDK I think it's kind of weird for a guy in his mid 20's to date someone in undergrad. Logically I don't think there's really anything all too wrong with it, but for some reason the thought prompts an "ick" response. That being said, idk why this always falls on the men. I'm in my mid 20's and it feels like a lot of girls my age are dating guys in their late 20's/early 30's almost exclusively. I would actually prefer dating girls in my age range, and yet it seems I have the best luck with girls …

The fun part of sex is doing it with someone that actually wants to have sex with you. If I’m being totally honest, the physical sensation is kind of inferior to masturbating. Besides, a lot of women actually kind of suck at sex. And having sex with a woman that literally has sex for money, and of whom is only fucking you ‘cuz u pay her an obscene hourly rate, sounds truly miserable. Don’t do it. Most hookers require you to verify your real identity in a process known as “screening”, and they could potentially blackmail you with that info. Also seeing a hooker is basically an expensive and elaborate form of masturbation. Just buy a flesh light or something.

Classical music requires active listening in order to be enjoyed. You have to follow the melody of the leading sections as you would listen to the lyrics of a song. You can't just let it wash over you, because the music isn't written to be enjoyed that way. By following the melody with close attention, you're taken on an expressive journey. You start off with a main theme in a certain key, and that theme is then perverted or answered in different keys, and more and more tension is introduced unt…

I honestly find listening to classical music and jazz and some select other genres of music to be an entirely different activity than listening to popular music. If I were to listen to popular music the way I listen to classical music, I wouldn't really like most of it, and vice verse. Classical music might be more popular if the recordings were actually mixed, and practically mixed at that. Yeah, most classical music has a ridiculous dynamic range, and that's wonderful, but you know, like, most people listen with headphones right? The idea is that "Chads" have more leverage than the average guy. if you don’t have any natural urge to protect/provide for your woman, you’re probably gay. Or - more accurately - at least veering toward the middle on the Kinsey scale. Literally nothing wrong with that, but I seriously don’t get wanting to be doted on like a girlfriend. And I guarantee you that wanting to split the bill on one of your first few dates is almost always a sign from the woman that she doesn’t want to fuck you.

Ya if a girl insists on splitting on the first date, she’s not that into you. Always pay on the first few dates. It’s a simple and effective strategy. Girls like feeling doted on/provided for. There’s literally nothing wrong with that. But guys need to stop paying for shit they have no right paying for - shit the girl has no right getting for free - once they enter a relationship. Lol I do okay. But I live in a competitive area. You would not do “great” where I live due to your height, unless you lowered your standards. Well then I’m glad you’re not one of the many women who think most men are unattractive creepy losers by default, regardless of level of interaction. Cuz I somehow doubt most men behave as you described. It would be fine if the “creepy” judgment came after the display of obviously creepy behavior. My issue is the judgment by default.

This shit pisses me off to no end. I’ve written several screeds about this here and there, while screaming at people on PPD, The absolute arrogance women must have to believe that every man they didn’t let into their lives is a subhuman entitled loser stupid rapist. It’s fucking maddening. Because when a woman is not attracted to a dude, which is fine, it always comes with this weird haughty value judgment on his character and worth as a human being.

In our 1:1 standup, the boss of my boss ""surprised"" me with my Xmas bonus. I know I'm bragging, and I know this is not a good look, but it looks like I'm officially going to be able to pay off the rest of my student debt. I grew up as dirt poor white trash in the middle of nowhere. Like kraft mac and cheese w/ ramen for dinner kind of poor. I'm just so happy right now.

I don’t actually believe you. No doubt it’s true for some nerdy girls, but there are quite a few that actively avoid “”alpha”” type guys. I ran quite a few academic clubs in my day, and I’d see it play it out. As is true with most sub cultures, nerdy girls typically like the alpha of their in group, who would scream “beta” to just about everyone else. I’ve seen typical normal “chad’s” strike out hard with nerdy girls time and time again.

Every now and again we get a PPD lurker who announces that he/she has solved the contentious debates, and gives us all a good finger wagging. Another month of lurking and they’ll be here, shrilly calling middle aged gym rats incels and married women whores. It’s the magic of this sub.

It’s like this hair product thing. Idk they used it on me at the place I last got my hair cut and it looked pretty good IMO. The one they used on me didn’t make your hair greasy or slick looking, which is a look I despise. The hair clay shit just made your hair stay in one place.

I'm skeptical of any woman that wants one type of dude her whole life, and later settles for some entirely different type of dude that happens to be stable and "happens" to make a lot more money than she does. I think that woman just isn't physically attracted to her husband. What she's attracted to didn't change. Instead, she de-prioritized "physical attraction" in her list of criteria for a mate. I honestly think those marriages aren't really beneficial to the dude in question. Same with the w…

I don't think it's a bad thing. I do think a lot of cat of owners would be dog owners instead if dogs were lower maintenance. And I do think getting a cat because one doesn't have the time/energy for a dog is a poor reason to bring an animal into your life. But I like cats just fine. And I know plenty, probably the majority, of cat owners, just get cats because they like cats.

most men suck Ironically women who believe this have been shielded from reality at the hands of men. It's a shame. That's why we see women with such incredible, not too mention incredibly undeserved, egos. I love this question. But I don't think we necessarily have a "true nature," really. I think who we are is highly malleable. I think people are largely the same and our differences are overrated. I just think "who we are" is highly subjective to environment/conditioning/mood, and that's why we see so much variability among people. Not because our essential selves are all that different. All things being equal, I think most people would act identically to one another. People act very differently …

Men are more variable, and thus often worse, but more frequently exceptional. Women trend mediocre - cluster in the middle of the bell curve. There are exceptions, but I'm just speaking statistically. The difference is that men are taught that they are worthless and women are taught that their vaginas gives them inherent worth. That's why we have so many mediocre women believing that they are somehow inherently superior to half of the population. Which is fine, but it is ludicrously offensive to…

I was in an LTR a few years ago in my very early 20's. Didn't start out whipped at all, but as the relationship went south I think I became more that way. It was subconscious, but I guess I was just trying to keep her. Ironically that strategy just managed to drive her further way. I knew this intellectually, but that knowledge didn't really stop my behavior.

I'm sure it's an issue, but I just don't get it?? I was never that into video games, but I grew up on the internet. I still preferred going out and doing social things whenever I had that option. Getting friend zoned is by definition “emasculating.” It means you are not a real man of worth in her eyes. Sure, it’s healthier to contort reality into something more pleasant so we can all get along to go along, but let’s be real here.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/19 09:21 PM

Haha that’s true. I do have a friend group that I’m still in touch with from my home town, but we’ve scattered all across the country, so we haven’t all been in the same place since I transferred undergrads. But it’s workable. You can make friends as an adult, but you’re probably not going to form that same kind of “friend group” that are common in college and HS.

/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/19 07:10 AM
1

It is one sided, tho. It’s still overwhelmingly normal for guys to pay for the dates, the Uber’s, the tickets to shows, pretty much everything. It’s totally inappropriate, but that’s what’s normal. And the costs aren’t trivial for a lot of younger guys at all. I’ve been fortunate, so I personally don’t mind, but I would hope that girls learn to be more considerate about this, especially when the guy is spending money he obviously doesn’t have.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/19 07:04 AM
1

Okay, but like guys are still expected to pay on dates. And continue to pay for things they really shouldn’t be paying for. I’ve seen broke guys back in college skip dinners to pay for dates. I’m thinking of people like them when I dip into my frothing rants.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/19 07:02 AM
1

Got it out of my system with that comment lol. Tone deaf post though, OP. It’s stuff you’re getting for free. And in the dating phase, these costs aren’t trivial, especially when you’re younger. It’s a little upsetting to see those efforts minimized from the recipients of said gifts. I do think some women get so accustomed to it, they forget that guys actually have to make sacrifices to pay for your free shit.

/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/19 02:21 AM

I reached out to that 6’2 giant tinder lady who genuinely wanted to be “friends.” And I guess we’re gonna go see a play together. I feel like I’m metaphorically castrating myself, but, at this point, fuck it. I could use a new friend. Whatever.

Sure, but you can’t really get up in arms about guys not doing some script that isn’t applicable to them. Formal dating isn’t “weird” it’s a necessity for guys and girls who are in my position if they want to find a relationship at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/19 06:42 PM
1

I don’t know if it’s really common at all. I’m sure it happens more often than I’m aware of, but it’s not something I’ve come across very often. Maybe it’s the schools I went to, but after graduation people kind of disappeared into their work cliques, and moved to wherever they got the best offers or where they thought they could best meet their career goals.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/19 06:34 PM

I mean I’ve also lived in Manhattan and it was pretty similar to what I’ve experienced in SF. Maybe they’re outliers? But, at any rate, what you’re describing just isn’t normal or applicable for the people in my life circle. And almost nobody I know paired off with someone they met in undergrad or grad.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/19 06:14 PM
2

I mean how common is it for huge friend groups to move together to a city after college? That sounds lovely, but those groups are usually impossible for outsiders to penetrate since they are so tightly formed. I went to grad school nearby, but pretty much everyone dispersed across the country afterwards.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/19 06:09 PM

Honestly you guys sound kind of like the weirdos. Where I live, that script just doesn’t play out past college. Formal dating is a thing, and it’s the common experience for most people who live in cities.

I think the friend -> relationship thing is becoming kind of rare. I’m in my mid 20s and live in SF and most of the couples I met weren’t didn’t meet within their friend group. Hell, most people don’t really have dedicated friend groups here, outside of work colleagues. I don't think it's gendered. I think it only seems that way from our respective perspectives. Some people don't have the deep seated yearning that other people have, be it man or woman. I do think a lot women today have an easier time being single than men. That's because they're afforded a lot of things that dudes only tend to get through relationships.

I mean, how would I know any better? Also women don’t get hairy like men do. But I’ll concede that there’s a lot of things about women I don’t know/understand that might be obvious to you. But is it really preferred that men shave their body hair? I somehow have never picked up on this, if that’s the case. I’m pretty hairy, and assumed that was fine.

lol it still seems ridiculous to me. But I'm gonna give it a shot. Thanks for the link.

I think you've convinced me. IDK how I'm gonna explain the women's products to anyone that spends the night, but I'm sure there are products that look gender neutral. Also might browse online, too. TBH I'm a little frustrated with the way the shampoo/conditioner hybrid thing makes my hair look. I can't explain it, but it just looks off. I have short hair, but the best it ever looked was when I used my ex GF's products.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/19 01:23 AM

That's really fair. I haven't thought about it from that angle.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/19 01:12 AM

I hear ya. But that's a very specific demographic of people. And if I recall from my high school days, the anime girls had poor hygiene too.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/19 01:11 AM
2

Shaving irritates my skin too. Fortunately I've switched to this very close trimmer thing that gives me a stubbled look, which I prefer anyhow.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/19 01:09 AM
1

lmao that's so bizarre.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/19 01:01 AM
2

In my case it's fairly sparse, but consistent. I guess I could try a trimmer. I doubt I can really reach every area or see what I'm doing though. Is body hair really an issue? I've never bothered shaving any of my body hair, besides the back of my neck.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/19 12:37 AM

They don't really have to be, but they are marketed that way. There's a men's aisle and a women's aisle. I guess I could shop in the women's aisle but I'd be worried about getting something with an obnoxious scent.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/19 12:17 AM

I hear ya. On a slightly unrelated note, I've never trimmed my fingernails, and still they've never grown long. Idk how this happens.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/19 12:11 AM

I mean I doubt they would say anything negative about my hair to my face either way. But who knows?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/19 11:47 PM
1

I use those words interchangeably Now the complaints about hygiene are starting to make a little more sense. Practicing (good) hygiene involves practices that relate strictly to cleanliness. Grooming, as it's commonly used, just includes practices for presentational purposes.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/19 11:44 PM
1

IDK but a lot of girls IRL have given me shit for it when they used my shower.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/19 11:36 PM
2

Literally, how do you shave back hair?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/19 11:35 PM
9

To be fair, you're talking about general grooming habits that are distinct from hygiene. Are you saying men should get a skincare routine? It's blowing my mind a little that women would even want a dude who fussed about his skin in the way women do.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/19 11:33 PM

A lot of men just have shittier hair products available. I can't even find conditioner that isn't one of those shampoo/conditioner hybrids in Target anymore.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/19 11:22 PM
6

Well, as you said, back hair isn't related to hygiene, but maybe a lot of women, when complaining about lack of hygiene in men, are conflating "hygiene" with just general grooming practices? Also WTF are we supposed to do about back hair? Men are hairy. Maybe you just aren't attracted to men? (Or, to be fair, aren't attracted to men that are hairy).
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/19 11:21 PM

I think that can happen, and might have happened in some cases. But I'm certain in other cases, it went down as described.

I don't think I'd care. My problem isn't with plastic surgery, but with the types of people that tend to do it. If I was dating the kind of girls that I usually date, and later on found out she had plastic surgery, I'd be hugely surprised that she got plastic surgery, but wouldn't have an issue with it. Because presumably she doesn't otherwise strike me as vain or crazy, which are the type of women I've successfully avoided for most of my life.

I'll speak for myself, but I hate the idea of "pumping and dumping" anyone. When I want to have NSA sex, it's with women who presumably want the same thing. The idea of hurting someone's feelings, or making somone feel used, profoundly turns me off. That being said, I've run into scenarios where a woman hides her intentions, seems apparently down to have NSA sex. Later on, when she asks me to commit and I don't want to, I end up being the bad guy. Just for not feeling the same way. I didn't deli…

I mean, I think it's an issue mostly women, not men. I remember that flood of """feminist""" articles bemoaning lack of """eligible""" men as women start to out earn, and receive more education than, their male counterparts. I'm not discounting your experience. I'm sure there are plenty of men that would rather be the breadwinner. But I think the larger common phenomenon is clearly the inverse. I don't think guys get tripped up about status, for better or worse, in the same way woman do.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/19 10:36 PM

TBH do obese women really have an easy time dating? I can't imagine they would have too many options to choose from. It's a genuine question. I wouldn't know.

There’s something definitely going wrong with me. I’ll try to be proactive about it. I have little glimpses where I feel fine, like my old self again, and everything seems so manageable. And then I sink back into whatever this is, and just feel total apathy and this weird sense of dread. The dread I feel is vague. Its source dissolves from view every time I try to examine it. If I had to stereotype them, I'd call them kombucha drinking yuppies who are into outdoorsy/extreme sports stuff to an excessive, almost annoying, degree. I'm saying absolutely nothing about YOU Really? Because I'm a guy who works in tech. And you're talking about guys who work in tech. So, if you're not talking about me, who exactly are you talking about when you talk about tech guys? It's almost as if generalizations are lazy - albeit useful - shortcuts that break down when you resolve to talk to about actual individuals.

Okay, you're right. I'm a boring asshole. So is everyone I went to school with and work with, many of whom I have counted as my friends. Well, I didn't set out in life to become a boring asshole. Whatever should I, and, I'm guessing, most other males in the tech sector, do to not be a boring asshole, in your estimation?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/19 09:33 PM

Or maybe you can re-examine your baseless assumptions. Yeah, listening to people who don't fit in your little "bubble" is "unbearable." Whatever. And yeah. When you say offensive things, people will be offended. That's fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/19 09:28 PM

nah, I just have an issue with unfounded arrogance. It's a lot easier to assume superiority. It's harder to find value in people different from yourself, because it offends the reservoir of assumed superiority that people build for themselves to protect their self-esteem. I love the arts - so do literally all of my friends, something that might surprise you because it offends your reservoir of superiority that you've built for yourself - and I've always been intimidated by people who excelled in…

There is a malicious assumption that most guys in tech don't have worthwhile personalities, or don't lead rich interior lives that have value. There's an assumption that their work is inconsequential, and doesn't require creativity. Many people assume these men don't have interests or goals beyond crass materialism. They make judgments about what kind of men they must be, and project an aura of self-involvement upon them. And it's just not true, for the most part. The most interesting/awesome pe…

You both must be really amazing people to somehow consider yourselves better, or somehow more interesting, than the entire male population in a sector. Tell me, what makes you guys so interesting and attractive and superior to most men in tech?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/19 08:39 PM
1

Oh there's plenty of malice involved. That's the part I take issue with. Not that techies en masse make girls dry up, which can't be helped, and isn't worth complaining about.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/19 08:29 PM
1

Eh, I think it's naive to say that it's just limited to a judgment on their attractiveness as whole - which I obviously don't have a problem with, although as someone who works in tech, I'm always a little hurt that I'm lumped in with a group of people who are judged to be boring and unattractive - I hear a lot of malicious judgment about who men in tech are as people. IDK where that shit comes from, but it's a much more common attitude than you're asserting.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/19 08:27 PM

Perhaps, but I wouldn't later rant to my friends about how all elementary school teachers are boring losers.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/19 08:13 PM
1

In actuality, sure. But I doubt that line of thinking bears any resemblance to the experience that occurs in their head. I want to to know how they justify passing judgment on people that generally work hard, have ambitions and are occasionally decent at realizing them. Like techies don’t give them the tingles. Fair enough. But the value judgment that goes along with that is annoying. Unjustified self-confidence is a pet peeve of mine.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/19 07:50 PM
1

Oh I understand. I just want to hear the justification. I live in SF, and you wouldn't - well, you would - believe how many women bash on guys in techs, even those that work within the sector. There's some truth to the tech bro stereotype. There are a quite a few that are generally boring, and uninterested in the arts or anything outside of their sphere. Funnily enough, so many tech bros detest their boring counterparts - the boring marina girls, and lust after girls that don't want anything to …

That’s a really fair question. In truth, our awareness of human trafficking is literally confined to what we can find and see. However, this data that found the correlation was sourced from various intelligence agencies and human rights groups, who track not just the volume of crime victims but the traffic patterns of victims and the criminal organizations who routed them. I don’t really think so. I’ve never struggled with feeling confident most of the time. But perhaps a little column a, a little column b? 1.5 inches seems small, and it is, really. But when we’re talking about height differentials between men and women, we are talking about a matter of inches. When a lot of girls in my area are in the 5’6-5’9 range, and they all additionally where heels of some sort, 1.5 inches for a 5’8 guy makes a non-negligible difference.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/19 10:13 PM
1

Not that I’ve noticed. I still run every day (not wearing the lifts obviously). There was someone who claimed to be an expert in the field on the automod who had dire warnings abt them, but Idk. some women wear two inch, or more, heels every day, and they seem more uncomfortable/detrimental than the lifts, which are padded and have shock support, with a bit of an arc, and they haven’t been dissuaded. My feet don’t appear worse for wear. Its not like I wear them 24/7, or every time I go out.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/19 05:08 PM
6

Lolol I’m plenty confident with myself. I wear lifts because they work. If wearing socks and sandals somehow made it easier to get laid, I’d go and do that. God forbid I try to make my life a little bit easier. Seems like women are more tripped about height than I ever was, reading into it more than I ever have.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/19 04:40 AM

It’s a first impression thing. People notice height, but aren’t actively conscious of it outside of the extremes.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/19 04:30 AM

I don’t know if we’re thinking about the same thing. I can’t even tell, and I wear the things. I’ll concede that maybe there will be the rare person who is attuned to these things and can notice, but what does it matter, really? Most people don’t seem to be able to. I’ve only noticed positive things.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/19 02:57 AM

Lol what? Superficial appearances reel people in. After that, other things start to matter more. Nobody is going to be sold on me because of 1.5 inches, even if it helped draw her eye. But good for you, having the whole package, I guess. Not all of us are so lucky.

And, yeah, I've noticed it substantially easier to get hook ups when wearing them. /r/PurplePillDebate06/12/19 10:40 PM

Yeah, if you were rocking 3 inches, you've gone from enhancing your appearance to straight up altering it. I guess the distinction is a fuzzy sliding scale. Per the lifts being hidden: Eh, I don't know. They are all things that improve your appearance. Tapered clothes accentuate positive things about your body. Fat dudes grow beards to hide their double chins. I just see them all as "appearance enhancing."

/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/19 09:33 PM
4

Idk if it would be so bad for LTRs. Just don't mention the lifts. In the unlikely event she asks about it, just say that you like the extra height. If you treat it as normal, then she likely will too. Besides after a certain point, you could probably just ditch the lifts. I know women are shallow, but I doubt very many women would break up with you after investing in a long term relationship over an extra inch and a half. By that point it shouldn't matter as much.

No, but I can kinda tell. We otherwise got along really well, and had a really fun time. It could be something else, but I'm guessing the fact that she was a good four-five inches taller than me was the killer. She looked visibly disappointed when I walked into the wine bar we were meeting at.

It very well could have had nothing to do with me. That's actually most likely. But she was so frantic about it. Even my uber driver made a joke about it after she hopped out. Oh well, I need to just let this go.

Nah, my post was reminding men that any one woman who says that “most men are ugly” and “most men are losers” are fucking delusional. It’s sad. Because validation from women is so coveted by men - so core to their sense of confidence/self-esteem, and so many women delight in attacking them, and dragging them down. But this convo’s going in circles. I get your point. I just can’t give a shit right now.

You know what? I think I’m going to use my passion to try to make men feel better about themselves, because a lot of women, and just society in general, seem intent on tearing them down. It’s not right. And I won’t stand for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/19 10:04 PM

I didn’t say that you said that. I said that a lot of women do that, and maybe you personally don’t. That’s literally what I wrote.

Lmao why is any of that something to be proud of? Im fairly selective for a guy, but I’ve never made a value judgment about the girls that I’m not interested in. And you might claim to be the exception when it’s convenient - and maybe you are, but my post was referring to the VERY COMMON phenomenon whereby women claim most men “ugly” and “losers” as a way of propping themselves by proxy of the men they let fuck them.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/19 09:50 PM

Lolol I promise you, though, that your standards have nothing to do with your value as a person. It’s unlikely that that you’re superior to the overwhelming majority of men. It is much more likely, however, that men superior to you - that’s who women like, right? Guys superior to themselves - might highly value you as a fuckable body. And as rude as that sounds, I really don’t mean it that way. And I get it. We all want the best for ourselves. I don’t begrudge you that. What I do begrudge is con…

Here’s what the red pill gets right, even though, as with all online “pill” ideologies, it’s a collaboration of mentally deficient shut ins who failed to articulate it: Women like masculine dudes. Get in touch with your masculine side and be more broadly appealing to women. Also, you’re probably going to be fine. Chances are you will meet someone that will make all of this online “pill” crap seem incredibly silly, which it is. The guys who …

UM the average person is “Red Pilled” already. Most people intuitively understood that women liked men who were masculine and higher on the relative social ladder of other men. You don’t get to choose what’s healthy. Your consciousness is just an interpreter for the limbic system. It’s healthy for men to have sex. /r/PurplePillDebate26/11/19 02:46 PM

Social anxiety has caused your selectivity to reach zero. Remember, selectivity is defined by your actions, not your feelings. If you’re a heterosexual male and you’re not initiating, you are not “selecting” anything. Apprehension is the check most men have that allows them to discern. If you can’t overcome this apprehension for a girl you like, you will have failed at the initial step of the human mating ritual, and thus you will be “too weak” to mate.

The ambiguity is on purpose. She’s trying to make it easy for you to man up and pursue her. Heteronormative women don’t make the first “explicit” move: That’s not how normal heterosexual relationships work. Every species has mating rituals. This is ours. Take it as it is or start taking cock up your ass.

There is a misconception. Guys genuinely believe that women they are attracted to are somehow in their personal running. So many guys feel chronically rejected when they implicitly reject almost every girl they meet, regardless of whether they are attracted or not. It regresses discussions on the matter, because their conception of their own selectivity is just plain wrong. If you’re a guy, not making a move is making a rejection. Women select from what is offered, guys make the offers.

Physical traits and simple structures can be empirically tested for. It’s evo psych where things get messy, because we don’t fully understand the brain or how it influences behavior at a granular level. So the tools of measurement are nonexistent. We can empirically measure and confirm that animals get floppy ears after generations of domestication. When it comes to matters of behavior, it becomes trickier, because we don’t know what to isolate for. Huge swathes of human and animal consciousness…

I don’t qualify approach. It doesn’t have to be (and probably shouldn’t be) a cold approach. The implication is that guys should initiate with more girls, ie up their “selection rate,” if they’re not happy with what they’re getting. Or they should spend more time seeking the specific girls who apparently do pass their existing criteria. Also they should determine their battlefield appropriately. IE while meeting IRL is higher risk, there is potential for higher reward, because risk is lower for …
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 06:57 AM

That guys are actually pretty selective in their selection process. If that surprises them, or if that feels incongruent, they should re-examine their habits. Also, women should also re-evaluate. Just because guys seem attracted to her, if she’s not getting asked out by guys she likes, she should re-evaluate her strategy, because guys can be attracted and still pass her up.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 06:49 AM

Right but the whole point of my post is that it’s not useful to define male selectivity in terms of base attraction, because that is but one criterion in the actual selection process.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 06:25 AM

Sure, but he didn’t, because he made an assumption which informed his selection process.

Evo psych isn’t well respected because it’s difficult, and often impossible, to scientifically verify. A lot of it’s just speculation. I’m defining male selectivity. Female selectivity is inherently different. It’s not “every guy she’s attracted physically attracted to” it’s every guy whose advances she reciprocates, whether they overlap or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 04:30 AM
2

Um, did you ignore my post? I risk asking out girls all of the time. But only a fraction of the girls I’m attracted to move me to ask them out. And there is a risk, I’m afraid, whether that pleases you or not. Women do feel uncomfortable getting hit on when that’s not what they’re there for. Having organized many clubs before, this is what I’ve learned from 1) feedback from female attendees and 2) working with other club organizers, half of which are women. It doesn’t mean you should never do it…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 04:00 AM

It is. Passive attraction isn’t selection. It isn’t anything, really, unless it manifests in reality. Just brain noise.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 03:48 AM
1

Nah it’s perfectly logical. Whether you’re desirable or not is irrelevant because you’re not approaching anyone. That’s a selection rate of 0%. The hottest women in the world could have a crush on you and it wouldn’t matter because only desperate women ask guys out.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 03:28 AM
1

Lol that’s fair. But yeah, clothing/general presentation was a huge one for me. I invested in some nice clothes, made sure they fit, started just paying attention to how I looked in general. That made the biggest difference for me. Weightlifting might have helped, and I still do it cuz I enjoy it, but the clothing/style thing was pretty dramatic. Make sure whatever you go with is pretty high quality and masculine. If price is an issue, then you can kinda fake it by just tailoring cheaper clothes…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 02:43 AM
2

Idk if you’re interested in my advice, but I found stepping up my clothes/haircut just general presentation worked better than weight lifting for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 02:24 AM
3

Right. So you know women and men value different physical attributes, right? The women who looks like you isn’t your looksmatch. Your match is the girl who is as attractive to men as you are to women.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 02:12 AM
8

This isn’t really true. Like at all. Idk if you’ve organized/participated in clubs before, but one of the keys to getting more female participation is creating an environment where they feel they aren’t being hit on. If they’re constantly being hit on by dudes they aren’t into, which is likely most of them, they’ll stop coming. Which happens a lot, unfortunately, cuz dudes be treating them like single mixers.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 02:05 AM
7

if you find it difficult to get sex from your “looksmatch” those women aren’t your looksmatch.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 01:44 AM
1

Somewhat irrelevant. Although your feelings of being undesirable has ironically made your criteria of selectivity so strict you literally placed yourself out of the market. Ideally it would have had the opposite effect, but humans are rarely rational
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 01:15 AM
2

Okay so you would be defined as a highly selective individual then. If you don’t approach as a male you’re literally not in the market, so, ironically, despite finding 30-40% of women attractive, you currently select for 0% of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 01:10 AM
1

I’m talking about any form of approach, be it cold or with someone you’ve known for years. Level of familiarity could be a factor in selection for approach
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 12:57 AM
2

Exactly. I’m arguing that “selectivity” for men and women is defined by who they literally select for, not by their internal feelings of attraction. While circumstances force you to be more selective, there’s still a criteria of selection that differentiates the women you do approach vs the ones you don’t. It doesn’t have to be positive or negative, but there is one. Maybe you only select for girls that you have a prior history with. Prior history becomes a factor of selection.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 12:56 AM
3

I hear ya, but if you read my post what I’m saying is that male selection shouldn’t be defined by the number of women you find “doable” it should be defined by the number of women in the subset of “doable women” that you’d actually make a move on IRL. There’s some differentiating factor, and it doesn’t have to be positive, between that subset and the broader group.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 12:50 AM
0

But I’m sure you do make a move on some of these women. Whatever differentiates them from the others, be it positive or negative, is the basis for your selection criteria
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 12:45 AM
1

Ya, but I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about the subset of those girls that you’d feel compelled to make a move on IRL. I’d argue that that number is probably much lower.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/19 12:39 AM
2

Yeah I’d agree. I don’t think a tangible fallout is very likely, but I’d be worried about making the dynamics weird/coming off as creepy. For instance, there’s a girl in my book club that I find really attractive, and I think it’s probable that she likes me, but I’m not going to bother because I don’t want to potentially discourage her, or anyone, from coming to book club out of fear of getting hit on. I’m sure if I liked her more, I’d take the risk.

I would agree, but I’m not talking so much about commitment, but willingness to act on attraction. Obviously the bar is much lower for dudes, since the bar for attraction is lower, but most guys generally don’t make a non-ambiguous move, that escalates beyond flirting, on just every women they find attractive. It’s a small subset, and that’s who they’re “selecting” for.

I think there are some people that are more “in tune” with themselves than others. There are people that don’t have really defined tastes + beliefs and just follow other people. I think you’re absolutely right that the ability to get in touch with yourself is a privilege. I think, though, that a lot of people rob themselves of that privilege. I’ve met some people who have been chronically busy their entire lives and still have a developed sense of self. I think that comes from willful self refle…

I don’t really buy this premise. Some of the funniest people I have met are women. I think a lot of dudes just don’t share in that kind of humor. I also think men feel pressure to try to be funny around girls, and I think girls feel pressure to laugh at the guys jokes, that I think we end up with a lot of dudes who incorrectly assume they are funny.

Pretty women are considered valuable just for being pretty. If she’s not pretty, she can still be valuable for other things, but you can’t be valued for being pretty if you’re not actually pretty. Women don’t understand that the inherent value they are given by society - value not afforded to men - is shallow and conditional. But guys get on just fine without it, more or less.

I’m going to say neither. If anything, BP, as stupid as I think it is. I’m basing this off of my friend with autism, so apologies if what I’m going to say is offensive, but I think the rigid “rule” based dogma of RP would be too appealing, and I know my friend would have taken it way too literally. I think you’d run the risk of internalizing the information and be flustered when people don’t behave as RP would predict. As many stated it can ruin the dynamic of a group. Girls can ruin guys friendship. Suddenly everybody is just competing for the girl’s attention. Also, there is a phenomenon that happened when I was younger, where girls would join a group just to socialize/or because they liked some dude, and their interest in the actual hobby was shallow. I don’t see this as an adult. I didn’t see this in college either, really. But some girls really did like the easy attention from unsocialized nerds more than…

Yes. I have plenty. There can be romantic tension, which comes naturally over time if you’re equally attractive people. But we can maintain friendship when one of us is in a relationship or not. On occasions things have happened, and we take it further but our history as friends is deeper than whatever romantic thing we flirted with, so the friendship sustains. I’d say about half my friends are women. I get along with women really well, I think. My physical attraction plays no role in whom I’m f…

Women who believe this are just unable to empathize with or read men. You would be surprised how many women fail to recognize that men lead emotional lives just as rich as theirs. It’s utter solipsistic bullshit. Women do tend prioritize things that guys don’t and vice versa. And then they get mad each other for not sharing their priorities. It’s a boring topic.

Lol this is called the "halo" effect. Positive affirmation from people we are attracted to makes us feel good. Positive affirmation from people we aren't attracted to, if we don't already have a relationship with them, makes us feel neutral. I personally have noticed that the nicest people I've met are never the best looking people. If you like a girl you will, at some point, have to take a risk and go for it. I've seen situations - and indeed have been in such situations - where both the girl and the guy like each other and nothing comes of it. It's a risk, because you're actually risking something. You're risking getting rejected and ruining the terms of your current relationship. Yeah, the burden falls on us guys. Lmao all this to justify why you shouldn’t have to fuck fat women but it’s absolutely not right that women don’t want to date slobs. The absolute state of men. I’m starting to understand a lot what women bitch about. I’ll restate this again. We get to intellectually curate a lot in our lives. But we don’t get to decide who we are attracted to. I’m saying what we find attractive in one another is not a decision our active consciousness gets to make. Hence the derision afforded to the body positivity movement. We get to intellectually curate a lot of things in life, but we don’t get to redefine the actors that influence our behavior outside of the realm of active consciousness. I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying that women don't like slobs for the EXACT same reason you don't like fat women. The feeling of disgust. The evolutionary pressures that yielded these feelings don't have anything to do with our conscious decision making. It's a hardwired, or otherwise conditioned, emotional response.

I don't think socioeconomic status has any more to do with women's conscious reaction to "clothing" anymore than I think men's conscious reaction to weight has anything to do with "health." Cuz all of your posts right now are spinning a story wherein the standards of attractiveness you hold for other people are "more rational" or "more correct," than the standard of attractiveness that might be applied to you. Here's the thing. They are rationalizations because what you feel when I propose you hook up with the fat girl is the feeling of disgust. I would argue that the things women care about aren't as valid as the things I care about. I'm sure women can come up with as many reasons for why clothing reflects character as you could with weight. It doesn't matter. It's all rationalization.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/19 12:10 AM

Um yeah... The whole premise of my post was that good clothing boosts the attractiveness of men in the eyes of women and not vice versa. So the equivalent would be some equally arbitrary standard that men value in women that in no way indicates the respective character of said women. It sounds like you're holding women to a double standard, bro. Rationalize that however you will.

In that case your match is some girl who doesn't feel the need to conform to beauty standards, because she only wants guys who value her for who she is, not her physical attractiveness. The average guy looks so shitty because superficial - in the literal sense; I’m not making a value judgment - presentation is less important to them. It’s important to women, hence they dress better. Funny you mention that. I've become a lot more responsive to how women dress, and I thought that was just a personal quirk, but I can see how that applies elsewhere. Like the hot girl at the gym is hot regardless, but there's something about a pretty girl with one of those feminine blazer jackets thingy's that I go nuts over. That being said, I've seen well dressed women who I otherwise wouldn't be attracted to and I'm still not attracted.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/19 07:03 PM
2

I'll concede there. You can make do with what you got and look pretty good in the process. But at the end of the day, visibly quality clothing sends a message that your thift store finds won't. And "trendy" is a bit of a crutch. The best looks for adult men are pretty timeless, and the influence of modernity is a bit more subtle.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/19 06:59 PM
5

I just don't think you're right about that. A lot of unconventional looking people can be made to look good with the right clothes. That's why we call them "unconventional" instead of "ugly." I realize defeatism is more comforting and cognitively easier, but I just don't think it's rational.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/19 06:55 PM

Eh, expensive clothing also sends a status thing, I think. But clothes that go well together and fit look so much better than they otherwise would. Someone mentioned in another how tailoring clothes at Target makes the clothes look not only better, but more "expensive," and I think I concur.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/19 06:52 PM

Depends on the differential in attractiveness. If you're a weak chinned 5'5 overweight balding guy, Neiman Marcus won't make chad, but you'll still look a whole hell of a lot better to women than you otherwise would.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/19 06:50 PM
5

Nah, it improves how you look drastically, and degree to which it improves actually goes up exponentially the more unattractive you are. So if you're unattractive but still have good income, it's more important that you pay attention to dress cuz it's one of the few tools in your toolbox that you actually have control over.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/19 06:47 PM
5

There are people who just look good regardless of what they're wearing. They'd become more attractive if they were wearing good clothes, however. So an attractive dude in shit clothes won't be able to compete in his "league" as much as the equally attractive dude who dresses well. For other guys, it's make or break.

I do about 1.5. Get the adjustable ones off amazon so you can play around it. adversarial in a strategic sense, which can turn emotional as well, but doesn't have too. You both have individual needs that need to be filled by that each other and in some ways dating reduces individuals to their gender roles in some essence. It doesn't mean that connecting as individuals isn't important.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 03:34 AM

Eh I think you’re taking it too seriously. It’s a cope, and that’s all it is. Dating puts the genders in a somewhat adversarial position. You both want something from the other person, and sometimes we resent what we want from one another. It’s natural for some guys to vent. To be fair, I think most women (grudgingly) agreed with me. A few just pointed out that men are violent when triggered. The thing is truly violent men 1) are incredibly rare relative to the general population of men and 2) statistically prove more of a threat to other men. I won’t pretend it’s not a valid issue, but it irks me when all men are lumped together as violent psychopaths. It’s becoming a lazy tactic.

Oh that’s funny. I’ve noticed the mannerisms of male dancers were different, but never put my finger on it. I just assumed they were gay, but you explanation makes sense. I wasn’t a dancer myself, but my ex was a very serious dancer, and I’d help out with the sets and ushering and stuff, so I have a bit of insight into that world.

I forgot that I’m on reddit where criticizing any woman === deranged psychopath. Hey, dipshit. Women will actually respect you more if you don’t treat them like babies. Reddit’s brand of white knighting is fucking creepy. And the women who enable it are fucking losers.

I will amend my thesis to say that women who were successful in very competitive arenas, like ballet or collegiate sports, are given the same conditioning that guys are normally given in their every day lives. It makes sense that the roles are reversed in this instance. Lol guy ballerinas (I forget whatever they’re supposed to be called) have it so easy unless they’re at the tippy top. I’ve seen the most mediocre dancers start touring in high school just because so many companies are desperate f…

Women are much more conscientious than men, but also much more average in just about everything else. That’s why the bottom rungs and top rungs of just about everything are nearly exclusively populated by men.

Your statement that women don’t pursue men, or are in any way passive in their dating experience. From my experience, women engage men very differently when they are attracted. They make their feelings pretty obvious, and open the door for escalation. They will contrive ways to spend time with the guy and escalate the conversation to a flirty/intimate dialog. This has a shocking success rate. At clubs/parties, even dating app chats - anywhere there is an implicit sexual context - I regular see g…

News flash: Our biological impulses aren't fair to one another, nor are they always rational. Nature relies on simple logic that was more relevant way back when than it is now. Sure, we overcome these impulses now and then, but nothing about attraction is fair. Sorry. Also, to explain a bit about how biological impulses work. We have sex because it's fun. But it's only fun because our bodies evolved to manipulate our behavior to find it fun, because that's what leads to offspring. Technology can…

I mean I get it; they view women they aren’t attracted to as sexual non-entities. Using their bodies for self-gratification is less pleasant than masturbation at that point. I’d rather stay a virgin than fuck someone I wasn’t attracted to if I were in their shoes too.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/19 04:11 PM

Nope. It’s a biological drive to ensure healthy offspring. After a certain threshold, the older a woman the more likely his offspring will have birth defects. All of our base instincts about sex have to due with procreation, including our actual sex drive.

They might not be able to guess correctly based upon a photo, especially since women tend to select photos in which they look the best, ie kind lighting, etc, which obscure any of the subtle indicators of age. But I guarantee you that guys in person will not be as receptive to a 35 year old IRL as they would have been when she was 25. Guys are often surprised by the disparity between what makes a guy "attractive" in their eyes and what women find attractive in men. That's because they haven't experienced female attraction. Well, the same works vice versa. Women often just don't see why a women looks less attractive to a guy when she's 30 than she was when she was 24. That's because females and males experience attraction differently. In her view, she is more attractive at 30 than 24, and she's not wrong until she extends that…

Not an incel, but I find often (not always - just something I've noticed) girls make up a fantasy personality/persona for a guy they find attractive, and their happiness in the ensuing relationship depends on how well that guy in reality conforms to her fantasy version of him.

I think women don't know what women look like in their 30's onward. They can look absolutely fine in just about every other way, but they won't have the glowing, youthful look they had in their 20's which is 90% of what made them attractive to men in the first place. Basically all humans get rougher skin and subtle facial wrinkles once they enter their 30's. Unfortunately for women, that's hugely detrimental to their attractiveness. I just think it's tough for women to see it, because they don't…

That’s going to wild greatly depending on your social circle. NYC attracts a wide variety of people, whereas the SF/Bay Area typically attracts the same kind of people. Also “pretentious” girls from high backgrounds that only date those with similar backgrounds have a tougher go of it, simply because their pool is smaller, and some (not all) of those guys don’t have those same hang ups.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/19 01:13 AM

I have lived in both areas. Obviously I can only speak to my experience, but I would hit above my “weight class” in NYC, whereas I struggled in SF, despite just about every aspect of myself, from appearance to social circle to income, having improved somewhat drastically.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/19 12:57 AM

It really depends on where you live. Like a whole heck of a lot. The dating scene and its norms in the SF Bay Area is nothing like how it is in NYC and probably neither of them resemble what it’s like in, say, Georgia or whatever. Let alone other countries.

It’s greatly exaggerated by reddit basement dwellers, but the attractive 20 something year old women that I know have relatively richer, more interesting lives than their counterparts. A huge part of that component has to do with the fact that women seem to be more motivated to seek a balanced life, which includes social activities, than guys. I think I'm starting to realize that people generally just end up with those who have same the financial and status as themselves. The caveat is that an adult guy at least needs at least some sort of income stream to start dating. As said elsewhere, you do have to stand out to her somehow. Not denying thing that this is a thing, but I think this happens less often than you think. Most girls who engage in casual sex are interested in the same terms that the guys are. Those same girls won't casually sleep with a guy they're actually interested in.

I often feel as though it's a good thing women consider practicalities like that when seeking a partner. I mean, someone has to, right? Although that being said, I've noticed that guys, at least in my area, consistently only date those in the same socioeconomic strata with similar who have equivalent academic pedigree to themselves. People don't discuss it, but at some level this must be a conscious choice, because it's their datings pools are actually more narrow than their social bubbles.

1) It's not a binary. You can have a serious relationship and still pursue your career as vigorously as you otherwise would. So many people - in fact pretty much all people - in extremely demanding career paths - doctors, lawyers, postdocs, etc - have serious relationships and families. Once you start having an actual family, often sacrifices are made. If you think you don't have time, you're probably not optimizing your schedule. This is a very reasonable response. But I think I side with OP in how annoying the disingenous "it's about health" justification is trotted out whenever people bring up their issues about fat people. This is sort of dumb. If you extend your logic, society values people that are percieved to be of value.
