Can I ask what the profession was? I’ve seen this in my own sector as well.

That’s horrible! I’m so sorry you had to go through that, having someone spit on your efforts you make for them hurts in a whole new way. I’ve found that taking the time and energy I would put into dates and instead invest them in my loved ones has changed my life. Not only does it fell great to have your efforts appreciated and returned, it sends the message that this is the expectation for me. If a man’s effort towards me doesn’t match those around me, he’s the weak link and needs to go.

After my last Valentine’s Day disaster I’ve decided I’d rather spend my energy on my friends instead. I planned a picnic date in the local park, cooked and packed a three course meal, bought expensive wine, and got all dolled up for the date. After hours of radio silence I went to pick him up and he was hung over and reeked of booze. He didn’t say anything to me on the drive to the park and didn’t help me set up. By the time I’d set out our food he’d already finished the wine I’d brought and com…

I was -very- casually dating a man in his early thirties when I was 23. To me it was just a way to pass the time when I didn’t have anything else to do but he wouldn’t accept that AT ALL. Creeper tried to peer pressure me into a relationship with him by telling literally everyone he knew that we were an item, from his family to my boss. I think he was hoping that I’d feel awkward correcting them and I guess just give in? He obviously didn’t know me that well since I flatly told them all that the…

Tbh I had a little bit of sympathy for him for a second because he was making it out like she never told him what she needed but that last line killed it for me. Like honey, she’s told you before what she needs and you just can’t be bothered to “remember”. How lazy and entitled can you be? Sex requires effort on both sides and saying you “didn’t remember” how to make it enjoyable for your partner is absolute crap.

Yeah this never made any sense to me. I come from a family that has tons of mental health issues: OCD grandparent, bi polar mother, dad with anger issues, and two (previously) suicidal siblings. All have suffered some type of trauma and all continue to struggle with their mental health. And guess what? Not a single member of my family takes it out on anyone. Ever. They maintain themselves and ask for support when needed and appropriately inform others when they’ve run a little thin and need some…

I hate that. I’ve had more men than I’d like to admit ask for sideways sex. Like doggy but sideways, aka what they do in porn for the visuals. I cannot fathom how the hell that would be comfortable let alone pleasant. Needless to say once I’ve heard it, they get dumped shortly after. I refuse to be a walking talking blow up doll for you to try TV sex on.

I dated a man similar. He was the son of an abusive schizophrenic father but I almost feel like his mother was worse. She would stand by while her husband beat their children then tell anyone and everyone the misery of her family to get “pity presents” from her neighbors. There was no secrets that her children were allowed to have because if she thought she could get something for it, she’d let everyone in the child’s life know. Her son that I (unfortunately) dated had much the same reaction whe…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
