Women.

This is how modern feminism infantalizes women. They can't be responsible for themselves, so men have to be the responsible ones.

If you are looking to GQ to define masculinity you're going to wind up crying about your pronouns.

Serious question: Who else is going to do it? When a house is on fire and there's a child inside, somebody has to have the courage to run into the house and rescue the child. Who else will do it if a man doesn't? Now I absolutely agree that telling men to not show emotion is wrong. But we need men to be men - to do the hard, dangerous, necessary things, and men should be honored for it.

Just want to say this one is a mixed bag. Licensed mental health professional here. That Heard has a personality disorder is completely believable based on the descriptions of some of her behaviors. It is EXTREMELY rare for a person to be diagnosed with 2 personality disorders, especially within the same cluster. A note of explanation: there are 10 recognized personality disorders (per DSM V) grouped in 3 clusters. Cluster A is thought of as the "odd" personality disorders - paranoid, schizoid, …

On the one hand, women are sole or primary caregivers for children much, much more often than men, so that needs to be factored in. On the other hand, women who kill children should be prosecuted just as severely as men. Equal justice under the law.

Wokeism is being taught at the highest levels of academia, and filtering down to elementary school. It will require a rebellion in the academy or among parents who pull their children out of public schools and send them to parochial schools or home school them.

"What’s especially interesting is that men working 35-39 hours per week last year earned only 92.4% of what women earned working those same hours ($600 median weekly earnings for men vs. $649 for women), i.e., there was a 7.6% gender earnings gap in favor of female workers for that cohort." Now that women are earning as much or more than men, expect the rhetoric to change from "victim of the patriarchy" to "obey the matriarchy."

I think it might be a good idea. Men stay home and off the job for a day. Let women try to do what we do fay in, day out every single day. It would be interesting to see how fast it all goes to hell when a water main breaks and power lines are down.
/r/MensRights09/08/21 04:33 AM

I've said nothing that could be considered "chastising." You point out the gender inequity in funding, and I'm encouraging you to advocate for more help for men.

Men have been socialized forever to believe it is our duty to die for others: in war, protecting others from criminals or disasters ("women and children first"). We are called "heroes" if we do this. So - yes, we have to tell them.
/r/MensRights26/04/21 04:10 PM
3

They can't know what we don't tell them. If we are communicating little concern for change, why should they exert any effort to change things?
/r/MensRights26/04/21 03:19 PM
13

You should expect resistance. Push back. Keep pushing. I am a mental health therapist, a field dominated by women. I get lots of resistance, but that isn't reason to stop.
/r/MensRights26/04/21 02:23 PM

Men, we need to do a better job of advocating for ourselves. We need to do what women did - demand that our health needs be given priority treatment. We can complain all day that "society expects men to be expendable," but WE are about 50% of society. Bumper stickers aren't the issue. It's education (male teachers in primary and secondary schools), it's political activism, it's organization, it's action (how many here have actually donated toward prostate cancer research?).
/r/MensRights26/04/21 12:24 PM

If you think this is the extent of the message being pushed by feminism, you are living under a rock. "Intoxicated consent is not consent" is the mantra - not just one poster. Feminism in the 60's fought to give women the RIGHT to live dangerously. Curfews on college campuses required women to be in their dorms one hour before men. Feminists fought that, knowing that it could be dangerous. Feminists today whine to make themselves safer. That's the bullshit.

And this is how feminism infantilizes women. According to feminism, women aren't strong enough to mean what they say, so men have protect women. I wonder when feminists will understand that? (That's a rhetorical question.)

This is how modern feminism has infantalized women. It declares that women aren't strong enough to make their own choices, so they need men to protect them, and if the men don't then the men need to be held at fault.

My advice and $1 will get you a cup of coffee down at the local diner, but here goes: Find someone who shares a lot of common interests with you. You will both grow over time, and some of your interests will change. If you don't have a lot of interests in common, you risk losing connection. That said, find someone who is willing to grow. Find someone who is curious. Your interests will change, so it will be important to find new common interests. This requires someone who is intelligent - at lea…

>Plenty of men stay in shitty sexless marriages especially with lots of kids involved. Just because a marriage didn’t dissolve into divorce, doesn’t mean the man is happy, or ever having sex with his wife anymore. This. I stayed in an unhappy, sexless marriage far too long because I love my kids and know that the reality is that men are typically not awarded custody of their children, and that kids need a dad. I don't regret staying for my kids, and I lost half of everything in the divorce, but …

You want examples of what has been done, and my comment was that we have to step up and do, you idiotic dolt. We haven't done anything, and it's time. In the meantime, you've whined about the moderators of reddit. Grow a pair of balls, pussy, and you might learn to read while you're at it.
/r/MensRights14/04/19 06:27 PM

More whining. You're full of excuses. Get off of reddit for awhile and do something with your life.
/r/MensRights14/04/19 02:41 PM
1

This means you're going to have to fight, so fight. Don't assume I'm unaware of how feminism responds to men. I'm a social scientist who daily deals with wounded men and confronts feminist scorn. I have little patience for persons who make excuses, too.
/r/MensRights14/04/19 01:53 PM

Ok, if you're so small-minded you can't think outside of your little reddit world and want to whine that the mods keep it off the front page, look at what women did WITHOUT reddit and try some of their strategies for raising awareness. On Mother's Day, you'll see all kinds of MLB players wearing pink cleats and batting gloves, and swinging pink bats to raise awareness for breast cancer research. How about men lobby MLB to do encourage players to wear yellow on Father's Day? How about we organize…

In case you haven't heard it, Bill Burr offers a good argument that there are plenty of reasons to hit a woman - and does it hilariously.

Men need to step it up. Women have done an excellent job advocating for themselves, and now it is time for us to step up our game. Blaming the "awareness media" doesn't get the job done. With social media platforms and all sorts of marketing opportunities, men need to stress the importance of donating to prostate/testicular cancer research, examination, and education.
/r/MensRights13/04/19 02:04 PM
2

Unless I missed it, the article doesn't mention that the wages of men who dropped out of the work force/are unemployed were figured in to the equation. This kind of statistical analysis would never be accepted in any sort of scientific discipline - except gender studies, which isn't even a science.
/r/MensRights03/04/19 12:35 PM

Honestly, they also know how insecure we men are, and how our fear when we are away from women is that they are with someone else better than us. Those prisoners are playing on the fears of the young men in the program. I'm a man and I work with this population of people and I know that they are master manipulators.

But the packaging of the film, the general vibe, and the tenor of the people applauding it just screams "men-only"—and specifically seems to cater to a certain type of very pretentious man who would love nothing more than to explain to me why I'm wrong about not liking it. You are taking a short view. In 1979, when Carter re-instated draft registration, there was no real push by NOW or any other women's group to include women. Token mention, but no real push. Women have never been interested in being conscripted into military service, and I don't blame them for that. However, equality is as equality does.

For those who don't want to fight Not an option for men.
/r/MensRights06/05/17 03:37 PM
1

The biggest reason women wanted to be in combat roles is because one of the requirements to be on the Joint Chiefs of Staff is that you must have combat experience. Actual efforts to require women to register for Selective Service have been minimal - no where near the effort expended promoting the wage gap myth, for instance.
/r/MensRights06/05/17 03:34 PM
1

I'm not arguing with you. I'm simply stating that until men got on board, it didn't happen. The same is true for men's rights. We need women on board. Are you disagreeing with thst?
/r/MensRights22/04/17 08:30 PM

Like all those women in Congress?
/r/MensRights22/04/17 03:35 PM

But that is what it takes. A woman's right to vote wasn't recognized until men got on board with it. It took white abolitionists to free the slaves. It will will take women recognizing men's rights for their to be true equality.
/r/MensRights22/04/17 02:25 PM

We have created a system where she was sexually harassed if she says she was.
/r/MensRights22/12/16 01:38 AM

I suppose, but there is a larger context within which this must be viewed. 92% of workplace fatalities are men. Also, men's health issues receive less research money than women's health issues. (Dated, I know, but the majority of the information I could find was Aussie or UK, and I'm trying to stay consistent with US figures.) So there is a message that men's lives are worth less. Selective Service registration being mandatory for males is one more piece of that puzzle.
/r/MensRights02/12/16 01:13 PM
20

The effort to force women to register for selective service was symbolic, anyway. None of this changes the fact that men's lives are viewed as less valuable than women's.
/r/MensRights01/12/16 12:44 PM
2

You might want to actually read the paper. It does a lot to refute the whole wage gap theory - with sound research from a female appointed by a feminist president.
/r/TheRedPill08/11/16 12:57 PM
4

That's pretty much the conclusion of the paper. The O'Neills essentially conclude that the gap is about .08 and is attributable to factors other than discrimination, like job choice, productivity hours, etc.
/r/TheRedPill08/11/16 12:53 PM
2

It is the extension of the ridiculous feminist-inspired policy that intoxicated consent is not consent (by the female), but an intoxicated male is responsible for his actions. What feminists have done is reinforced the notion that women are weak and need men to be the strong, responsible party.

/r/MensRights23/10/16 03:06 AM

Came here to say this. The feminist response will be something like, "Of course men pay more in taxes - they earn more because of the wage gap." The emphasis needs to be on the benefits-received disparity.
