You're in for a world of hurt wrt women if you don't "care for" friends and don't drink on top of that. Romance isn't friendship exactly, but there's an abundance of overlap in terms of basic social skills.

The thing about FWBs is that everyone's free to pursue someone else if they find them attractive. This isn't about disrespect, unless her actions are some passive aggressive response to some perceived slight by you. It's about feeling more strongly about her than you're willing to admit.

No, you conveyed it even more vividly than explicit statement could. Even intellectuals who really click do so by outlook and temperament. Otherwise scholarly societies would be dense flocks of BFFs.

You're going to have hard time demonstrating respect of any kind for someone you so clearly despise. Anyone capable of writing "...meanwhile I’m a deep thinker who doesn’t really fair well with lots of superficial small talk" has some serious growing to do and charm to gain.

Someone who's essentially good finds making that work the path of least resistance. As opposed, to, you know, someonme who's superficially nice because they're not attractive or interesting and avoiding doing/saying anything overtly aggressive or obnoxious takes as much effort and inventiveness as staying in bed all day.

Actually, like looks, what he's talking about has a huge nonsubjective component. I thnk you're well aware of that.

Intelligence correlates with income. The ugly/brilliant and beautiful/idiotic people we meet stand out, but intelligence actually correlates strongly with health and beauty. The studies are out there, if you're curious. Also, the difference in use of cosmetics among women at elite and average universities is striking: the fashion at top tier academic institutions is no or minimal makeup.
