I've been that person and learnt the hard way once (overconfident who didn't learn to read the room). Thanks for putting it into words. Now I have a girlfriend (who is a natural in terms of social interactions). Also, I try to socialize considering the overall comfort of the situation, I still have approach anxiety but I'm improving slowly. I have a friend who's an absolute pro, and he takes me along in social events. He very secure even if I insert myself, but I keep my distance and only social…

White girls are put on a pedestal and are seen as "trophy" among the browns. This can be traced back to the British colonial era that introduced colorism in the Indian subcontinent. Literally having a fair skin can matter in many ways in the subcontinent.

I just showed that 50% of them have solely reserved seats for them...while being also allowed to compete on the general section of the seats. What's the discrimination here? They're clearly allowed to compete on at least 75% of the seats, while non-lower caste people are allowed to compete on less than 40% of the seats. Take an example, suppose there's a government wing to be opened and there are 1000 job openings. That means, 500 of the jobs will be reserved for the lower-caste people as a form…

putting people into arbitrary categories and discriminating against them? Care to show any such existing system where they're discriminated? Infact, there's something called "Reservations" for the then lower castes, where 50% of all seats in educational institutions like colleges, and government jobs are reserved for them. From the rest 50% of the seats, some 10% are competed for a quota where you pay 3x the fees for that seat if you have got a low rank. Some other 10-30% maybe also be reserved …

You said India has a very persistent caste problem, whereas casteism is actually illegal. I'd venture that most allow women to come and pray. If that's what you'd venture, then Supreme Court need not intervene or even women activist groups. But the reality is opposite. If a devout Muslim women gets up at 5 in the morning on a Tuesday, goes to the nearest Mosque and prays in the back corner, who is going to stop her? Yeah...no. That doesn't work. Does 5am in the morning when even the sun isn't up sound a safe time for a female to be out alone? Let alone in Muslim neighborhoods which a…

You're literally not making sense. You can't bring trade "back" (as if it was snatched from you) from one country to other. You can only grow trade to compete with the other. Also, your people don't have to bring trade back in order to not enslave children in mass factories, they can follow some ethical and moral conduct in business in the respective countries they operate in, which should also work surprisingly well.

Not Hindu and Jain pilgrims. Just Jain monks. It's in Girnar. Basically at around 10,000 steps is the abode of 22nd Tirthankara of Jainism, Neminatha. At higher peaks is the pilgrimage of Dattatreya where Gujarati Hindus visit along with Aghoris. Jains are actually warned not to visit any Jain sites that are usurped by Aghoris/Hindus claiming as theirs. There's some place there which has been emitting smoke since ages, my uncle has seen it along with the remnants of Jain temples, since his fathe…

True. I'm a Jain, and they have attacked the peaceful Jain monks in a mountain region famous for pilgrimage in Gujarat. Actually, that pilgrimage is both for Hindus and Jains, but at different peaks. And somehow these Aghoris have captured some Jain sites, and do not want Jain monks wandering around, even in the forests for meditation and stuff. They needed to call the police for protection as they were out for blood, for the head monk at the district.

Wow, this explains why this chick I talk to, never bothered meeting me up, after planning earlier for half a dozen different times. She's excited during the planning but then just becomes a no-show on the day. She also regrets it later. I'm not sure what to make of it.

In India, currently, the 'feminist anti-conservative liberal comedians' are getting exposed with their Bobs and vagene hunting strategies on the internet just because they think they're famous, they can get away with it. These are the liberal men. I'm so loving it. It's All India Bakchod btw.

A classmate of mine is now in Canada in a relationship with a white chick since at least two year. A senior of mine has pretty kinky regular encounters with the Canadian chicks. A Greek hotty used to sext with me, she absolutely loved it. Just so you know, Indians who emigrate are not the r/indianpeoplefacebook material you usually browse.

That's some great information! Here we call Madrasi as someone from the South. And yes, people tend to breed within their caste more, even in cities where it is changing.

Yes, the overall goal of Jainism is to minimize your killings to the point that your existence shouldn't depend on food. After the initial filtering, next comes food that have insane number of fertility, aka seeds. So in the next list, out goes tomatoes, pomegranates etc. Usually it's said that to only eat fruits that fell on the ground, and not pluck it from the tree. It should be practiced, but most of the time it does not happen since today's world operates differently than ancient times. In …

In turmeric we do eat dried turmeric powder, but not raw turmeric. The concept is that there are 5 different types of senses starting from one-sensed organism to 5-sensed organism. Our diet should be restricted to those that are single sensed, which mainly filters everything except the plant kingdom. Yes, our scriptures already mentioned that plants are living beings at 500BC, while science did, 200 years ago. Now, to eat root vegetables, you'd have to uproot the whole plant, thus killing it. An…

True. Most of Jains come from Gujarat and it's Northern state Rajasthan. But they're spreaded everywhere even though we're about 4 million, less than the number of Christians in India. Yes, I follow that strictest diet. Pure vegetarian and no root vegetables (onion, potatoes, garlic etc). Fun fact: India's Space Program was started by a Jain called Vikram Sarabhai and Warren Buffets Berkshire Hathaway's Vice Chairman is a Jain.

I belong to a religion called Jainism. Quite similar to Buddhism but more extreme (the more extreme we go the more peaceful we become), the more . In India, we have a concept called "Brahmacharya" which means celibacy to the point of not touching any female, ever. Even some non-saints practise it.

Thanks, I'll look it up. About Jain cooking, I found this website which has tons of recipes: https://www.tarladalal.com/recipes-for-veg-recipes-jain-34 About recipes with even more restrictions (the tithi thing I mentioned earlier): http://www.jainfoodie.com A simple google search may also lead you to dozens of websites along with YouTube tutorials. I have never really cooked in my life, so I would suggest you to follow the recipes which doesn't seem too complicated for you. But tbh, Jain recipe…

Actually, hundreds of Jains do that every year. Even more, idk. It is called called Masakshaman. Yep, it does affect the intestines and stuff. The longest in the Jainism's recorded history to go without food is 6 months in the last 2500 years. It has happened only twice. One of them was the 24th Tirthankara himself (founder), while other was a lady around a millennium ago. carbs Yeah I know what is the abbreviation, but I'm not aware of what kind of nutritions I should be taking and what each ty…

indian here. I'm pure vegetarian and over that I don't even eat any kind of food made from root vegetables (onions, potatoes, carrots, garlic). I'm tall af 6'3, and my weight since a few years (3-4) has shot 80-85 kgs range. Once I fasted for 8 days (religious reasons, no food, just water) and lost 20 kgs. Right now I have to walk about 2-3 kms everyday so my weight remains in the 80kg range. Everybody has noticed the change when I visit back home!

Microsoft wouldn't even look at my resume unless there's a mention of that college in it. They usually prefer females.
