Some countries have looked at the state of the world and discovered the best way to divide people is by gender. There's a reason that countries that go for such extreme measures are known for corruption and other political shenanigans.

Closed CNC machines, wet sawing, air filtration and monitoring. You could even cut them fully submerged. But no matter what you mandate it still depends on people actually following the rules. Of course it could be done, there are companies that handle chemicals or explosives and do it safely, but it wasn't.

Australia banned it because despite the regulations people were getting silicosis in just a few years. So they decided that if the industry can't follow the guidelines the industry will be banned. Good on them they also banned the import.

Your "purely rational perspective" is not grounded in reality, empirical sources disprove it. In theory it might work but it won't work in practice just because you really ant it work.

Abortion is not really inequality. If you look at support amongst men and women it's about the same. And that's rule for every country unless there are some recent events that change it. USA had a slight split in 2024 but before then for decades it was the same. And since more men declare they have no opinion usually more women are for and against abortion. So it's hard to call it a matter of equality or gender rights if there are a lot of women who strongly oppose it.

But you're trying to explain in context that is no longer relevant. Maybe a hundred years ago it was but it's not true for a very long time. First and second waves of feminism have solved all the problems that came from "system" and all that was left were some cultural norms. Cultural norms that are mainly propagated and upheld by women.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates16/07/26 12:49 AM

What system? Women in western countries had equal rights for generations. Most countries have government bodies for fighting for women's right, as do organisations like United Nations. Feminists are not fighting against the system, they are the system. And many of those countries have laws that put many at disadvantage in one way or another, like draft or retirement age. It's just dishonest to call the system patriarchy when it puts women first.

That has nothing to do with your original argument of population growth constrained by women. You want population growth, you make sure the losses are equal.

Maybe that explains third world countries but not country like Germany. After WW1 women who couldn't find a man to marry stayed childless. There was the same situation after WW2. Any big scale conflict these days probably will result in droves of old spinsters too, not much has changed. So unless there's polygamy or worse involved population will be constrained by number of men that survive.

The historical argument doesn't work because everyone has a mother and a father. Every man and every woman has the same claim to their ancestor being discriminated a hundred years ago because they were a woman. You can't compare it to ethnicity where just some of the population had ancestors who were discriminated against.

Research on women's ailments is not done poorly. Except for drug testing but there is a very, very good reason why it is so. And gender norms, patriarchy as you call it, is upheld by men and women, there's research that shows that women are more likely to enforce those norms.

Yeah, but it's not really men's fault. A lot of men believe they must prove their value and they can't be a drain on society. That taking care of themselves is bad. When I was young my first manager always came in sick to work, and when he was really sick he'd take a sick leave and still come to work. Because he had that weird idea that he has to work but if he's not giving his 100% he shouldn't be paid 100%. And I did it too, I'd come to work with a fever and then be told it's no excuse for wor…

But there is simple argument for paternity leave: It makes women more attractive on the job market. If you have two young employees and you risk one getting pregnant and leaving for a long time it's hard to pick them. If both men and women get extended leave it meatters less. Of course it would be better if they saw men as equal parents but giving the men chance to spend time with their children is more important than opinions of bigots.

View on abortion generally are the same amongst men are women. No matter what country you look at it will be about the same, with more women for and against and more men declaring they don't have opinion. In countries where there's a difference it's because of recent events. Pick any western country and people generally have the same ideas. Yet somehow it's painted as fight of women against men. When you're privileged every tiny discomfort feels like oppression. I went to browse the internet for. a couple of hours and it seems their main example of "coddling" is tolerating aggression. And yes I can see that a small child reacting with agression when they loose a boardgame is more accepted in boys than in girls. And in the threads a lot of posts like "some guy was rude to me and I assume he's on spectrum and how men can do that" which is quite a reach. There are even a lot of voices sayi…

It’s ironic that Western countries, which house billion-dollar porn industries, have almost no medium-to-large scale titles featuring highly attractive characters. Meanwhile, East Asia (where countries impose heavy-handed censorship) is flooded with them. No irony here, totally expected. In countries where people have free access to porn they don't need erotica that pretends to be a game.

There was a lot of discussion around Nier Automata that concerned the main character's butthole. I think it rather falls in the second category.

Simone de Beauvoir is a feminist icon, basically she created second wave feminism. Now read about her sexual abuse allegations and tell me what would happen if a male activist did stuff like that. And it's even worse, the victims that did decide to speak up were attacked by feminists.

I don't understand transport. They correct for distance but not mode of transport? Like, they accept that the guy drives for work but think he should still take the bus instead? And besides, if we include jobs in the comparison the whole thing is just insane. Do they expect that if men choose different jobs the jobs will just disappear? Men choose jobs that are available, they can't just choose whatever they want.

That's cause feminists and conservatives agree that women are more vulnerable than men and that society must do everything it can to protect them, they just disagree on the details. And these laws are just the tip of the iceberg.

The simple answer is that it never happened like that in modern history. Both world wars saw millions men die and both world wars resulted in millions of women who were childless. Women that plan to become single mothers are very few and there's no indication anything ill change. The only societies where stuff like that kinda worked were the ones that practiced polygamy.

And that's why I told you to go talk in topic about conscription and not in over here. Though if you were paying attention you'd see that a lot of European countries started to talk about reinstituting conscription because of Russia's aggression, stopping imperialists like Russia is a key to better world for men.

This right here is a topic where a putinist is trying to use conscription as an excuse to glorify Russia. Op gives fuck all about men who die in this war. I think that conditioning might have something to do with centuries of Russian aggression and it is very much rooted in reality. You probably have some twisted explanation for everything that is shown in Russian state tv but when you see someone talking about nuking your country it does feel kinda aggressive. It's a really tough conversation but your solution is wrong. Giving victory to Russia will just mean more death and them starting another war in 10 years. What we have to do is fully block Russia, no more buying gas through India, no more leniency for companies that deal with them. Russia must be defeated and the Putins regime replaced. Balkanisation of Russia is the only chance for other nations to live in peace.

Im not so sure. In the west also only male homosexuqlity was illegal but there weren't any of those other practices you mentioned. Women sexuality is just seen as different, take Simone de Beauvoir a feminist icon. Do you think we would hear the end of it if someone like that took part in men's movement?

Wow, that's really bad. And speaking from my experience: all the guys I grew up with that committed crimes didn't have problem with women. And I've seen numerous examples of girls inciting violence. Like I enter a neighbourhood that's not my own and some girls see me and instantly call for their brothers and boyfriends demanding they deal with the stranger. I'm sure we could eliminate most crime in that age group if women stopped dealing with criminals.

Regarding Titanic it's important to note that while children in general had lower survivorship rate then women the boys had much lower chance than girls (https://optional.is/required/2012/04/25/titanic-visualized/) So it's not really women and children first but rather women first and then maybe children. And it's very important because society assigns the gender roles at a very young age and that means that a 12 year old boy is expected to protect a 30 year old woman.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates29/12/25 04:37 PM

It's a problem because of the system that makes lives of all women more important than lives of most men. It's not something introduced by feminism but feminists are not doing anything to change it. You can't really say that feminists are for gender equality if they ignore the worst example of genders not being equal. And in my country (Poland) that caused a situation where more women vote far right than the left. Majority of women are for mandatory military service for men while majority of men…

Take a look at what's happening in Ukraine right now. Young men are forced to risk their lives and not allowed to leave the country while women are helped to start a new life abroad. Do you really think that women are the victim here? And that's the situation that's happening in all of the Europe. You won't find any law in EU that discriminates women but you will find a lot that discriminate men.

How a guy that is "left leaning" can interlace feminism in his work and still sound like a conservative? Oh, it's very simple, feminism is a conservative ideology masquerading as leftist. The paranormal romance is a genre where most average girl scores a super handsome guy that is also a vampire/werewolf ninja. The romcoms in cinemas have two hot guys competing for a woman. Well, there's surprisingly little about this book online taken that even the space nazi borrowed a name from it for his bot. No, not really but you can look yourself for articles about "surplus women" and "old spinsters". UK is particularly good example. Out of 6 million men which served almost a million was killed. That pseudo biological nonsense has been proved wrong many times. After both world wars there were millions of women who just didn't marry and died childless. And a tribe that looses most of it's men would do any good, unless they live in a fairyland where violence doesn't exist.

From the report: Our aim is to focus on whether the gap between women and men in the chosen indicators has declined, rather than whether women are winning the so-called “battle of the sexes”. Patriarchy is a vogue term that can mean whatever is most useful at the moment and is not helpful in discussing social issues. "Women's opression" is also a vogue term, lacks nuance (usually both men and women had advantages and disadvanteges to their role in society) and suggests that all men opressed all women while class was much more important than gender.

I don't think those people are upset because they can't relate to character, they are upset because a female protagonist doesn't fit their vision of that world. I'm also not sure how many people actually associate themselves with the character they play. It must be a significant percentage since people are even willing to pay extra to customise their character but there's also quite a big group that doesn't care.

You have to take a step back and look at what feminism actually has done. Centuries ago women were seen as in need of protection, now they are seen as in need or protection. It used to be that you needed to help women because they were weak, now you help them because they were historically disadvantaged even though those disadvantages are gone for several generations now. The gender roles haven't changed.

Not american so I might be missing something but was there really a time when single income was viable? https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/LNS11300002 It seems in the 50s the workforce participation amongst women was a bit more than half of what it's now. And I think it was higher amongst lower income families.

Two things I've seen while growing in a rough neighbourhood 1) It's the men that commit crimes like stealing or mugging but women are well aware of it and benefit from it. This is the traditional role of provider expected from men. If women would stop dating criminals the crime would be greatly reduced. 2) Men target other men because they have some weird ideas about "honour" that stops them from harming women. Women are an easier target for a mugging and yet they prefer to target a man to feel …

I can address the apathetic part. What are your feelings about 3rd world countries that produce things you use? How often do you think about people that slave in sweatshops? What have you done to make the world a better place for them? They are far away and don't matter, right? So why would someone who is even higher then you on the ladder care about those at the bottom if you don't?

The problem is the same in my country (Poland), in last parlamentary elections young men voted for the far right party while young women voted for far left, in general society the men voted more right then women (with a small exception that far left had more male voters in 60+ group). The answer to this is that the left wing party doesn't seem to care about votes of men. There are no points in the political programme directed at men although they talk a lot about women (at best they point out st…

I think that liberal and conservative have wildly different meaning across the countries so the study definition will be important as well. Women did get education but it was different kind of education. A merchant's son might be educated how to travel and make deals but the merchant's daughter will be educated how to take care of the household when her future husband is gone. I do agree that lesbian women are more fetishised than gay men although gay men also are fetishised (even if not always sexual, the trope of "gay best friend" is a thing). But I never really seen anyone claim that lesbians have it worse than gay men. Yes, women more often work in service industry. But it's the men that are expected to regulate their emotions 24/7 be it in work or in a relationship. A construction worker doesn't have to smile all the time but still the society expects he doesn't show full range of emotions because it's unmanly.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates01/12/23 11:38 PM

I don't think it's really the emotional abuse. It's the expectation for the service industry workers to express certain emotions but that doesn't mean it's abuse. If someone is working in funeral industry and it's the happiest day of their life they are expected to remain calm, if they work with children and something bad happened to them they are expected to express positive attitude. Is it abuse really?

Problem with being awkward is that it gives you less chances at social level. And less chances means you don't get to learn and you fall even further behind. I mean that out of all SA that occurs, over 90% isn't reported to police. Of that last 10%, 6 or 7% of the reports don't lead to anything. Of that remaining 3 to 4%, 2% I prosecuted and 1-2% is false. Your math don't really work. From what you said out of all the SA that are reported to police 60-70% don't lead to anything, 20% are prosecuted and 10-20% are false. That's 10-20% false accusations not 1-2%.

Well, if we go that way we end up in a situation where every consensual sexual act would require video+audio recording so we can prove that everything that happened was consensual.. At least during the recording because it still doesn't prove if anything non-consensual happened later. So that would push us in direction where you have to record every minute of your life (either to prove nothing happened or to prove something did happen).

at the very least have a notarized consent form requirement for everytime anyone has sex, and without one, both/all parties are liable for criminal activity. That would assume that if you give your consent before the act you agree to everything that happens later. In common understanding we assume that if one person says "Stop" the other party shouldn't continue. It also assumes that nothing outside of the contract will happen.

I think the most important thing in that thread is the third picture. Men are more reluctant to seek help when it comes to individual problems like depression, substance abuse and physical disabilities. That is a problem. Another problem is lack of problem recognition from men. Because while men might be reluctant to seek outside help it's still troubling they don't see a problem in their marriage.

Yes, in general a lot of men don't want to go to war and those that do are often pressured by the society and brainwashed by propaganda. Not to mention that draft exists because there are too few volunteers (and so does peace time military service, ever since we suspended it there are not too many people willing to do it). But also it's not really a right argument in modern democratic society. Women have voting rights and they can choose to elect someone who won't start wars.

Well, it was peace time service and there was no war on horizon so war time draft might get different views. What I don't like about the "patriarchy through ages" bit is it's some modern feminists seek retribution for the past wrongdoings. My country was heavily damaged in WW2 and while I don't have anything about my peers from Germany as I know they aren't responsible for it I know they had a better start at life than me because of what their ancestors did to my ancestors. But, shocking at is may be, my mother was a woman. One of the most promissing drugs was Gossypol. In the western countries it was rejected due to too many side effects but then China picked it up. Chinese goverment, in the seventies during the one-child policy, decided it was too dangerous. An authoritarian regime actively working on depopulation that was no stranger to violating human rights decided the pill had too many side effects.

I doubt it's the case of men with multiple partners, after all the question was about "committed romantic relationship". It's either men see their relationships differently than women (he thinks it's casual, she thinks it's a committed relationship) or someone is lying. It might just be that women lie more often in surveys. And yes, people lie in anonymous surveys all the time. Be it about education, earnings or happiness the anonymous surveys don't match other research. And we already know that…

Okay, I'm not american so it might be different here but I notice that men and women are just raised differently. It's not that women want to date men that are making the same as they are, it's more they don't want to date men that are making less. As an anegdote that may or may not be relevant I find that most women I know are okay with someone paying for them but men are not. It's not "disposable part complaining", it's the the fact that society still sticks to traditional gender roles. The traditional society says men are protectors and women need to be protected. The culture shift didn't say "women can be protectors", instead it said "women need to be protected from different things". People are okay to accept it when they are told women need to be protected because they are discriminated in workplace, or in school. That they need to be protected from harassment ev…

To be fair the numbers don't really make sense. If all the women are dating older men that means the younger women don't date at all. Either women break up with men when they reach adulthood and don't date at all until they find a much older guy or all the highschoolers don't date at all. And sure, it's probably natural that people go to college and break up with their highschool partners but still it doesn't make sense. No, that's not a problem. That's only a problem if we expected the men to be providers. What is the real problem is that the society in last few decades has changed the gender roles for women but not for men. The problem with feminism is it's a very broad term. It's close to how people divide everyone into left and right wing of politics and then throw around most horrible examples from the other side like if that somehow applied to half of society, and like with politics there is a lot of infighting in feminism but they more or less keep it to themselves. Most of women declaring themselves feminists are very traditional and just subscribe to it because it's trendy to declare themselves as such or be…

A lot of example from wars. Also common crime is also often gender based violence even if it's done by men to other men. A lot of criminals have a "honour code" that guides how they pick their targets and they usually go after men because it's not "honourable" to attack women.

Women still are usually not placed in combat roles when they volounteer, even if it's something like air forces where physical strength is not really important. And it's something more than being expandable. Women auxilary services were helpful in, for example, world war 2 but they were fully volountary. There is a lot on the plate here. I think the first thing to start with is that in traditional gender roles it's men's duty to protect women. In modern view that hasn't really changed, what has changed is how men should protect women. I'm a man dating women so I look at it from a different angle but I see the same with women. Most of women I dated refused to do simple tasks that were male-coded in culture. Whether that be fixing a leaking tap, putting a nail in the wall or tightening some screw the women would claim they are unable to do it and that they needed me to do it. I dated some women who didn't have a problem but others just didn't want to try. I wouldn't be surprised if some men did the same, the moment they have so…

That would make you privileged. Unless you honestly believe you reaching that point is just your own work, and not also in significant part due to society supporting you reaching theat place. Yes, I am privileged now. And that's the point, that a situation where I would be disprivileged based on my gender does not concern me anymore based on other things in my life. Many people try to get victim points due to things that don't concern them at all. And no, I don't believe I gained everything by m…

Privilege is real. I work in a multinational work setting. We have people from western countries, people from eastern Europe like me and people from places like India or Bangladesh. We are all on the same level but the guys that grew up in Norway or UK are privileged compared to me, it was easier for them to achieve this level. And it was easier for me to achieve this level then it was for guys from India. That is if we all were coming from working class because an upper class guy from India had…

Yes, rapists probably won't change but rape is pretty extreme case. There are other things. The discussion about consent has evolved. Stuff you see in old movies (like James Bond series) are considered very not okay these days. The jokes that were okay 30 years ago are considered in bad taste now. I mean, I know women who believed that men always want sex and they can't really force them into anything. With a few lengthy discussions they understood their misconceptions. It's not like they were e…

It doesn't really happen around here much because of culture however I must say I've seen examples from both men and women doing it. It's some tribal thing where people asses their position in group and their power as a group. It's not really tendency. It's the pressure that a real man should be handle to solve all their problems on their own and if they don't they're not a real man. In the traditional society women are to be protected and their problems are problems of everyone. Popfeminism doesn't challenge that, it that challenges the ways in which women should be protected. Women have been surviving on their own for years. There are stories from wars when all the men were drafted/imprisoned/slain. Women did survive without men around, of course it's hard without half of workforce but they don't just sit around doing nothing. There are elderly women living alone in rural communities and they can take care of themselves. Heck, for most of the human history both men and women worked very hard, sometimes just doing different things. A normal group of women, not on a tv…

I haven't yet heard about a country where it doesn't work the same regardless of living relatives. Usually it's 70 years after the author's death. If there are no surviving relatives it's usually an orphaned work because noone is sure who has the rights and usually noone is willing to investigate it. In the end if someone really has noone at all to inherit after them the whole estate goes to government but I can imagine many cases where unpublished works would be an international law shitshow.

From my experience is a woman does something like groping you without your consent: 1) You should be happy you're getting attention 2) She's not a threat because you're stronger 3) If you complain instead of handling it on your own you're not a real man I've experienced it myself and seen it done to others, usually everyone, men and women, treat it as funny situation.

I would prefer if there was less crime and not more female criminals. Same as I would prefer the system to change rather then the gender of those in power. If tommorow all politicians and CEOs were female we still would be stuck in the same shit.

Okay, but what's wrong with those in power being one gender or another? It's like claiming that instead of most criminals being men it would be better if those criminals were women instead. A corporate that's exploiting it's employees won't change if a woman becomes CEO.

The problem with patriatchy is it's ill defined and a lot of casual feminists equal it to "men are bad". A lot of problem of men are dismissed because "we live in a patriarchy" and "well men make most of CEOs and politicians". In traditional upbringing there is one way bond between you and your parents, they handle your emotions but hide their own. When a grandma you saw twice a year dies they try to comfort you although for them it was a parent and they have to deal with their emotions too. The Troubles ended a bit over 20 years ago. WW2 ended 76 years ago. And while Poland was heavily affected by it you don't see any such effect in western Europe. My grandfather fought in WW2, my other grandfather was too young. For many young people WW2 is time of their great grandparents. I don't think it still has that high effect after 4 generations. Communism is more to blame.

It's not all over the manosphere, not all men sleep around. Also, women also often say they don't want to settle down with guys who sleep around a lot yet they do find them attractive. There is no irony here, everyone want to have some adventures, have sex without effort. But few men are able to do so and few women sleep around. So both men and women prefer people who don't sleep around.

Well, the subs like TwoX still have problems with rage and misandry. It's just somehow seen as none-issue. I'm not saying this place is pure, I remember for a time there was a trend here with posts that this place is turning misogynist and will end up like all the other subs. A lot of romantic comedies see two men pursuing a women and till the last moment she can't decide which one she likes. That leads to a "happy ending" when she chooses one over the other but honestly how is that happy? One man tried his best but lost, the other gets the woman but he knows deep down inside she can cast him aside if someone better shows up.

Refugee crisis is complicated but I think you don't understand their argument. I won't say I'm pro or against or whatever however: When they say it's mostly young men what they mean is that they would expect refugees to be a mixed group consisting of families, young children, women, some old people. When they say that it's only young men what they suggest that other groups are lacking. Yes, probably they would say other things if it were only young women but that's another topic.

I grew up in bad neighborhood, while it's true that young men were the ones that chose the life of crime they always had women around them that knew exactly what was going on and benefited from it. I would say that if women stopped dealing with criminals then crime rate would fall drastically.

Men are afraid however: 1) Men can't show they are afraid because they loose social status, women reject men who show fear so they have to learn not to show it 2) Men are more rational about it, you won't find many men you know who will be willing to take a stroll in the bad neighbourhood of your town at night because they are rightly afraid something will happen to them. Well, you're probably confused by high culture and low culture. If you look at folk songs you will see that criminals are often folk heroes. We have records going back centuries about songs glorifying people who would kill and steal. What really has changed is that these days we have the popular culture so now you get to hear gangsters singing about doing and selling drugs in your home instead of listening to some guy with a banjo singing on a street corner about making and selling moonshine.

I would rather say there are more major positions. Feminism often blends with traditionalism, they want women protected but they want it even more and in new ways. But the third positions is divided. There are people who oppose traditional gender roles and stuff like men disposibility who believe women are inferior (red-pillers etc.) and then there are those who oppose traditional gender roles, believe in equality but still don't like feminism because they see it as harmful or too one sided.

Rejection is one thing, the other is that friendzone usually has little to do with friendship. But men don't talk about issues because they were socialised not to talk about them. In my country we have earlier retirement age for women, most men support it because they see it as something that should be given to women. There is little loyalty to the companies but most people are a part of one group of friends or another that's spread along a few companies. People invest heavily into those relationships because opinion is all that matt…

The topic is crimes, the article doesn't talk about sexual assualt, the discussion is caused by a murder, in your previous post you talked about violent crime. How am I supposed to know that when you write "Almost all women have been assaulted or sexually intimidated by a man" you don't mean assualt but rather sexual assault? And my post still stands, men are victims of physical violence, and they are way more often victims of physical violence then women are victims of sexual violence.

Yes, it's certainly a grey area. But let's try to have a normal conversation about that instead of bitter satire in your original post. Yes, I believe that sometimes there are misunderstandings. I once was dragged to bed by a women when I was completely drunk and I don't remember what really happened but I know her, I am still friends with her and I know it was just a misjudgement on her part. I did go with her willingly and that's what I remember, I remember telling her I'm too drunk and changi…

Are we the ones that define it? Mothers take care of the children in the traditional society, majority of teachers are women, every young guy was brought up by women, how is it a fault of any random men that he didn't go out of his way to change the way the youth is educated? Yes majority of criminals are men, but so are majority of victims and there are way more victims then criminals. Clothing..Yeah that's a big one. The most important thing I was taught about self-defence was to have shoes you can run in, how come if it's such a problem I don't see more women in sneakers? But also yes, experience is a big one. Despite what some people think it takes the right mindset to hit someone even in self-defense, and the average criminal that is attacking you probably been in more fist fights then you.

You're taking it to extremes. There are levels of drunk when you can see that someone is not making a sound judgement. If your friend is drunk but claims he should drive home you take away his keys, that's the level of drunk that's not sober enough. There are also cases where people are black out drunk and they have no short term memory working although they do appear like if they were sober, that's also not sober enough. I'm not really sure how in other countries but in mine we weren't taught to respect women as equals but to treat them as better. You want to talk street safety, let's talk street robberies. The equivalent for men would be 6.5-7ft broad women, leering at you and telling you all the things they’ll do to you (while you’re not in the mood). The power balance is shifted in a way that it’s not in men’s heads when they talk about women doing this to them. It wouldn't be ideal but it would certainly be better. Obviously some rights to reproduction on the father's side would still be violated but it's not like we can force a women to have an abortion so not having to support an unwanted child is the least the father can do. Of course on the other hand there's a bit or moral dillema what to do if the father first claims he wants a child and then backs out of it but that's rather a fringe case.

Back when there was military service in my country you had 4 choices: 1) go to university and hope they won't draft you in after you finish (it did happen but rarely) 2) go to the army 3) get an exception and if you're lucky you're going to work in a hospital instead 4) go to prison. Women didn't have any obligations. We may talk about how men are better suited for the army and if it's necessary but still we're putting a lot of burden on just one gender and letting the other enjoy all the benefi…

Unpaid housework mostly. I mean, that's something you agree with your partner. And on top of that I really do not care about the house being clean, not that I want to live in a pig sty but I can go without dusting the furniture every week, I lived like that for most of my life and I'm used to it. I understand she doesn't want my paperwork all over the dining table because I wouldn't want her paperwork there either, but if she cleans my desk because she "can't look at how filthy it is" it's not r…

I'm not sure if emotional labour is supposed to be exclusive to psychologists. It's something required of many employees, put your emotions on a back shelf and do what the job requires of you. A bartender may be required to act cheerful when he is sad, someone working at a mortician has to keep a straight face when he's jumping with joy because his child was born, a customer service worker is supposed to show concern with petty needs of the client even if her whole family just died in a fire. Used to hang out with radical left, friends with a lot of feminists, took part in abortion rights protests and so on. In my country we had uneven retirment age of 65 for men and 60 for women, then the goverment changed it to 67 for both genders and the next goverment backed out of it and went back to 65/60. And I saw that none of my feminist friends are interested in protests, they just didn't care about that gross injustice. And I realized feminists are not fighting for equality, they really ar…

Guys are also pressured to work and contribute to society ASAP, whereas women are excused from this. So women can undertake non-contributory things (like studying at university) whereas men tend to be pressured not to (or, at least, just get the bare-minimum required to get a job). On the other hand there are more well paying jobs available to men without college education. So it's not only societal pressure but also opportunities.

Okay let's take two families: 1) A gay couple 2) A lesbian couple The first couple will both work till they are 65, the other will both work till they are 60. The first one will pay more into the system, the second one will get more from the system. Is that fair? Is it fair that men who don't have children still have to work longer? Is it fair that women who can't have children still can work less? And there are compromises already, women who are on maternity leave get that time marked as workin…

Okay so let's break it down. I'm from Poland and our current retirment age is 65 for men and 60 for women. While the reasoning for this is sexist, it was always reasoned as the traditional role for women in retirment age is to help raise the grandchildren or that women are weaker and in need of protection it is still the fact that a woman that doesn't have any children or grandchildren retire earlier. Yes, although the system is social and you don't have any own money but just right to retiremen…

Think of a child with overprotective mother. On one hand the mother is doing everything for the child, on the other hand the child is denied even making their own sandwiches because they might hurt themselves. Benelovent sexism is the same, on one hand women are taken care of and protected, on other they are seen as incapable of doing a lot of stuff. The problem is that in the last century women fought hard for their rights but not for their responsibilities so we have this weird situation where…

Those laws are from old time when the men worked outside of home and women worked inside home. They are a form of protection against the cases where a men just decided to divorce the women and throw her out (in the old days it's not like she could just find a job and noone would marry her if she was older) or allow a woman to leave an abusive husband. The fact that the law is gendered is sexist as it should be gender neutral.

Islamic countries, ugh. Every now and then a feminist will say how it's unfair that men there can have multiple wives but they never talk about all those men over there who will never have a wife and will die lonely and miserable. Plane seats with more leg room cost more, however the rest? That's doubtful at best. At my local store a half a liter bottle of water costs more than a 2 liter bottle of water, that's just how capitalism works. In my country we have lower retirement age for women and 2/3 of men support it. Most of them claim women are more needed at home and the rest that they were weaker than men so they can't work as long. It sucks that I as a man have to take that burden, it sucks that some of my friends have to spend their whole lives trying to prove they are capable adults. Why it has to be one sided? Men are expected to do stuff for women because women as perceived as not being as weak and not being able to handle themselves. Yes, men take all the burden but woman are treated as something between a child and a man. Some women like that kind of attention, some men like acting that way, but some men and women don't and it would be better for us all if men wouldn't be expected to and women wouldn't feel you're holding a door for them only because they're a woman. What is important is one is allowed in the western countries and even encouraged in the USA while other is illegal almost everywhere and performed only in some 3rd world countries (and amongst immigrants from those countries). It probably comes down to how the story is told. If the op started with "I got into a fight with a woman" that will get a bad reaction if the story goes like "I got attacked with a knife by a woman, I didn't even know her and didn't know what she wanted". it's a whole different story.

Ugh, is that full ownership or co-ownership? Because if it's the latter I would blame it on age difference in marriages, it's rather common that a woman is several years younger than their partner so it could explain part of the difference in younger group. Then we have a problem of men being more mobile and more willing to move to another city for work. In the end, they left out too many variables for it being useful at all.

You are correct, they mainly talk about how it's a sign of diverse society. I would also go as far as to say it's a sign of wealthy society and those have money to deal with the problem. But I wouldn't even go as far as to say that countries that dealt with it better have bigger chance for a female country leader. If we throw out non-western countries (including USA) we everything gets muddied. Especially since Eastern Europe seems to be pretty find despite having incompetent male leaders. And t…

Once again, no. Beggars really do depend on money so you give one beggar one euro doesn't work at all, and those from the article are either oportunists or scammers so there is one tourist and a lot of beggars. With men though? I don't really know that many guys who would want to get involved in ONS daily. And also once again you're treating it like some kind of charity, guys want sex and relationships, girls want sex and relationships, it's totally different dynamic.

There are thousands of beggars and a single tourist, that's wrong ratio. The experience with the beggars would be more akin to being the only woman some place, like you're stuck on an island with a few thousand guys and they all want something from you, in real life the ratio isn't really that bad. And do remember that for a guy there is no option just to wait for some girl to give them attention, that just doesn't happen. At first I agreed with the post you linked but then I thought there is something off with it. The article assumes that the writer was a victim of very one-sided people wanted something from him and he didn't want anything from them. It's also important that if a woman makes the first move she has it much easier. Most are willing to give a chance to woman if she hits on them, they would give a tree a chance because that simply doesn't happen to them all that much. That is a very bad example because it's entertainment. If they wanted that could've chosen capable women and incapable men.

Well, glory holes are mostly for gay men, lesbians I knew had plenty of casual sex too. Unless you're referring the few gloryholes where there's a woman on the other side? Then I don't understand how sucking random cocks is different than sticking your cock in a hole, both parties apparently enjoy it.

A prince marrying a beautiful peasant girl is something that rarely happened, marriage was political game and you married someone who would benefit you the most, not someone who you fancied. In the rare cases that happened women didn't really have anything to say and they rather were given a role of a lover than a wife. Vice introduced me to metal subculture in Africa, I never imagine that would exist. Their pieces on North Korea has shown me it's not a dystopian YA novels like most people want to believe. Like sure, it's a shit country but it's a shit country that people smuggle Titanic movies to and North Koreans seem much closer to you and me than other media seem to portray them. You say men enjoy sex so much they would even stick their dick in a hole in the wall, that is masturbate. Yet when women masturbate it's suddenly different and it doesn't count? Maybe you shouldn't have brought masturbation into it? Or maybe women can too enjoy sex without some mystical psychological connection?

You suggest men would just stick their dick in a hole in the wall though. That's not sex with partner either.

Oh yeah, that probably explains why there are no sex toys for women and why you can't get them in your nearest supermarket or drug store.

To go out of their way to specifically exclude men is not only truly disgusting, but about as out of touch with reality as Marie Antoinette. If you're refering to the famous cake quote then do know it's not true. Marie Antoinette was quite in touch with reality, she might have not been the saviour of the poor (no nobles were really) but she was well aware of the problems.
