Equate an uncircumsized penis to a vag with big floppy lips on it. How would you like it if people demanded those pussy lips be cut off because it was 'gross' and 'tradition'?

They swung, but the connection only went one way. Guess he wasn't feeling it.

The whole thousand gender thing is tiresome, so referring to someone by their sex is becoming more and more common.

That's what courtesy is. Civility. Politeness.

I'm of the opinion that you shouldn't be the one to start it, thus being courteous to everyone to start out. But if they act like a dick to you, then be a dick back. That's a perfectly valid approach, imo.

Until they give you reason not to be, you should be courteous to everyone.

Strange, isn't it? It's almost as if the 'respect' you talk about fits the definition of courtesy. It's not like anyone was saying that to begin with, no.

You are contradicting yourself. If mere politeness is not enough, if respect MUST be given, then you are acting against your own opinion by disagreeing with me. Respect means deference, after all.

You are not being respectful to me, by refusing to defer to my opinion. By daring to ARGUE with me, you are being highly disrespectful. You demand to be respected while refusing to respect me. That's what your argument implies. If respect hinges on the feelings of others, every opinion is valid, none may be criticized.

Mine is the dictionary definition. Let's see how the sentiment sounds when we use synonyms instead; I do not offer anyone my admiration(respect) unless I feel it is earned, but I'll be polite(courteous) to anyone. That sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

True. However, people do have a right to courtesy.

The problem is that many people, in this thread and otherwise, confuse respect and courtesy. They are NOT the same thing, not by a mile.

No. Courtesy is due everyone. Respect must be earned. Kindness is due no one, but you can offer it to whoever you choose.

Not sure if sarcasm.

No, everyone is due courtesy. You are confusing courtesy with respect. Courtesy is being polite. Respect is admiration for a person's accomplishments. Simply living is not worthy of respect.

Nope. Nobody has a right to not be offended. Those that insist you do never look beyond the now into what kind of precedent that sets.

No, it's mocking the attitude you're displaying, the attitude that we should be 100% mindful of everyone's feelings all the time. Fuck that, your feelings are your business alone, and nobody else cares.

Two students post it in a bathroom, where maybe dozens will see it. Press posts it to the internet where millions can see it.

Then, I will open a business that hires only whites. We'll see how long that lasts.

So you condone a place that won't hire blacks or Asians or Mexicans?

How the fuck can someone say shit like that with a straight face? I wouldn't want to play poker with someone who could. Well, beside the fact I'd catch a fatal mob stabbing for being male within 3 light-years of her.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
