If you seriously don't understand how my comment or the comment that I referenced has anything to do with the post, there's not much hope for you. In response to your edit, however, it's not nearly as black as and white as just agreeing with OP - that's like saying that I agree that homeless people should just get a house and then they won't be homeless anymore. Yes, men should be more careful, but, you have to consider the fact that they're driven to being less careful by necessity. There's ano…

https://www.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/comments/143f38n/when_women_have_bad_relationships_they_are_told/jnaxy99/ Sometimes, some men just have to take what they can get, despite the risks. You're one of those who is clearly incapable of seeing things from the perspective of another person. Develop your empathy, and your understanding will come with it.

The part where she said "when it's either McDonald's or starving to death" clearly went over your head. I'll explain, since you're not the only one who missed it: Firstly, it has been proven that people who experience a lack of physical connection experience symptoms that have a detrimental effect on both physical and mental health. These effects can be quite significant in the longer term. When men are lacking this connectedness with other people, they can't usually just hit up a friend for a h…

but you chose to feel shame. You chose to cave to peer pressure. Except it's not a choice for those people, and only someone who is weak-minded and insecure would think otherwise. Uneducated ignorance isn't attractive.

No one can make you feel that way. Sorry, but this is such a BS invalidation. What on Earth do you think peer pressure is? Peer pressure is other people influencing you into behaving a certain way, usually out of embarrassment or shame. You really shouldn't be going around invalidating the feelings that other people have or get. It's pretty shitty to be telling them that it's their own fault that they feel that way and that they shouldn't feel that way despite the fact that there's a societal pr…

Do you also blame men for not enjoying sex with women who aren’t good at it? Yes. It takes two to tango. If you aren't able to articulate what you need from your partner, that's your problem and you've got some learning to do. Are men wholly responsible for stimulating their own penises during sex? Yes, which is why you'll find that in the majority of cases, the man is the one doing all of the thrusting and movement... And if a man doesn’t get off, do you automatically assume he failed to commun…

You talk a lot about how you're still in love with her, how you guys still have sex sometimes, and how you spend a lot of time together as a family... have you actually tried opening up your feelings/desires to her and expressed to her that you'd like to see if you can try being together again, even if it's just from a casual approach? I mean, you're already basically doing that anyway, but not getting any level of basic commitment or solid footing to work with, so she's getting all the benefits…

I'm sorry, but this isn't true. I may be anecdotal, but there are many anecdotes agreeing with me. Personally, I value the women in my life. I appreciate their personalities. I push them to reach their goals, and I help them to achieve them where possible. I help them when they're struggling, and I provide a safe space for them for support. They are important people to me. It's really crap that you've had life experiences that have made you believe otherwise, but there are a lot of decent people…

Lol. The orgasm gap. Two of the primary contributors to the orgasm gap are "not enough focus on the clitoris" and "an abundance of fake orgasms" - both of these things are directly under the control of the woman in the scenario. It's an issue that is mostly on women to solve. If your clitoris needs more attention, give it more attention or ask your partner to do so. If faking orgasms is stopping you from actually orgasming, stop faking orgasms and have a little patience with yourself. These are …

Responding only to your hypothetical (and not your blatantly biased attitude, given your other comments), you're wrong. You say there's no reason, but the fact of the matter is that a higher number of sexual partners can be positive for multiple reasons, and also indicates that she's a much more desirable person than the one with fewer partners. In fact, having fewer partners indicates likely personality problems or poor sexual performance because something about her is making it very difficult …

No, they don't skew towards female victims. The immediate fatalities skew female, but long-term they don't. Why do you think that men account for ~3/4 of suicides? The majority of abuse that men face is emotional and mental abuse, which is extremely damaging and drives people to suicide. Psychological damage is fucked up. It's a lot worse than bruising and broken ribs. You become a literal shell of a person with no joy, no will to live, and no feeling beyond overwhelming, crushing negativity tow…

women should be out here shooting down more abusive men. And, of course, by that same logic, men should be out here shooting down more abusive women, too, right? Especially when considering that women instigate in 70% of cases.

The reason it takes men longer to realise that they are being abused is due to several compounding issues. This is not an exhaustive list, by any means: Mainstream Gaslighting. - "women can't hurt men" or "man up and take it." Normalisation. - shows often depict female on male violence as being unworthy of outrage or repercussion. It's often excused and encouraged "because he made her angry." (Lack of) Official support channels and resources. - despite the fact that even by official (skewed) fig…

Why the focus on who is initiating vs. who is damaged? I question your motives because you framed it as a question of "who started it." I question your motives because you're completely neglecting to consider that emotional and psychic damage inflicted on the men in this instance are at least equal to the physical damage inflicted on the women. Consensus of medical specialists worldwide state that psychological damage takes far longer to heal than physical damage does, and the scars run far deep…

It sort of does, actually, but just not in the way she thinks it does - her brother died in a car accident, and she's trying to use that as a reason why they should let a drunk driver, who could have killed someone else's family, go free without arrest/punishment...

I'm rarely ever in this sub and I've seen more than a dozen cases in the last year where female teachers are convicted of sexual assault against boys under their care. I'm not saying it's mostly women, or even 50/50, but it's certainly not that uncommon either. It just often tends to go unreported because the emphasis on assistance and talking about things that hurt you is nearly zero when it comes to boys and men.

Same for people in upper management positions - they're typically taller because people see taller as more authoritative and a natural leader, therefore they hire taller people for those roles.

That's a stupendously pessimistic outlook you have there. I'd recommend therapy, and meeting decent people. Just like there are people who rape, there are many more who don't. It's the same with relationships - there are people who suck and want to rob you, but there are many more who don't.

This might help a little, though it's actually in favour of men being the less risky driver when taking all factors into consideration: https://www.trafficsafetystore.com/blog/who-causes-accidents/

Having both men and women pay the same fees for car insurance is the definition of equality (in this scenario), because they're being treated equally regardless of their sex/gender.

It's actually legit. Men cause more accidents in terms of raw numbers. That's as far as it goes, however, because men drive significantly more miles than women and there are also more women with driving licenses than there are men with licenses. Yet, despite there being more accidents overall caused by men, when we talk proportionality it's women who cause more accidents per mile driven. https://www.trafficsafetystore.com/blog/who-causes-accidents/ This article has the breakdowns as well as cite…

You can’t compare female teachers grooming children to men raping women. It is not comparable in no way. Why, because the grooming is worse when you consider that they're in a position of power and influence, and they're assaulting children? 1 in 10 rape victims are men and that’s mostly by other men. That depends where you're located, but also doesn't sound wholly accurate given this: In the year ending March 2020, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) estimated that 4.9 million women had be…

the jury convicted the marketing manager of three counts of sexual assault at the complainant’s flat in Chester. From this example here. If the person convicted were a man, it would have been described legally as rape. Using this guideline system (for rape), a man would have been convicted for a minimum of 10 years but likely 15 due to the fact it occurred 3 times and would have been classed as category 1. Now look at this guideline system (for sexual assault) and as you can see, it carries a ma…

I know you've already seen evidence elsewhere (from the rest of your comments that follow) but thought this would also be insightful. As in previous years, the majority of homicide victims in the year ending March 2019 were male. Just under two-thirds were male victims (64%) and just over a third were female (36%). From the UK Office of National Statistics I had a similar debate several months ago with someone else, but can't remember what platform it was on or where I was quoting the statistics…

No, they can't. At least not in a number of countries. Legal definition of rape in those countries is penetration with a penis. They're charged with "sexual assault" instead.

A man being accused of rape (never mind convicted) is more than enough to flush his career, marriage, and entire social life down the drain. It leads to suicides, overwhelming financial struggles, addiction issues and all kinds of problems. The crime may not be the same, but they're both very capable of wholly destroying the other person's life.

What you're missing is that he was contradicting you because you said it wasn't a good analogy. He then gave a detailed response about how it actually is, based on his (and many others') experiences. He wasn't saying it's ok to be racist, and he wasn't saying it's ok to be sexist. He was saying if the shoe fits, it fits, regardless of what you call it. What women are doing right now with the anger and hate being directed at all men for the sake of a few bad men, is literally the definition of se…

That's because "police officers" isn't a divisive rhetoric against a particular gender, whilst ignoring the fact that women are more than capable of doing the same nasty shit that some men do. If a person is worried that a man might assault them, they should be just as worried that a woman might also assault them. There have been endless counts of female teachers grooming young male students into sexual relationships over the last couple of years, and there have been endless accounts of women be…

"You wanted this to happen" - that is blaming the victim. "Why didn't you take better precautions?" - that is not blaming the victim. If you're walking around with your wallet hooked onto your belt, you're not asking to have it stolen, but you also aren't taking your own responsibilities for yourself and your property very seriously as far as precautions against a bad person go. By not taking those precautions you're opening yourself up as an appealing target to them, despite knowing that they e…

Exactly. I wasn't suggesting I agree with what he did, the opposite in fact, but it is definitely one of several alternatives than simply "he's an angry incel".

So you don't think there's any way at all in this world that there could be any other reason for the person to have done this other than him being an incel? Despite an almost complete lack of context and information beyond knowing that the girl ghosted him? You really can't think of any reason?

Your "preface" was after that. Edit: Your preface also ends in "but". That's because the first line of my comment was a brief statement. The preface was explaining that despite me not agreeing with it, the explanation of the statement that follows is how I saw it was most likely to have been. Again, when did I say anyone has the right to teach anyone a lesson? Explaining or offering insight into a person's action does not mean I condone said action. Don't be so purposefully ignorant.

I agree with everything you said here. I was simply offering alternative perspective to the "ugh he must be an incel because he expected sex for paying for her meal" comments that are literally littering this post lmao. It's possible he just expected a little respect - enough to at least have her say "hey, I'm not interested in taking things further, but good luck in future!" I don't condone what he did, hence the preface to the explanation of what could have been his reasoning for doing this. I…

You don't have any more 'right' to 'teach a lesson' than this incel does to 'reimbursement' for a date he willingly paid for. When did I imply that I did? Did you completely neglect to read the part where I said I wouldn't do what he had done, i.e. I don't condone it? I also at no point said anyone had the right to do anything, so why the fuck are you quoting that word?

I think it's less about incel shit, more about him trying to teach a lesson/provoke a moment of thought. I'd like to preface this next part with the fact that I wouldn't personally do what he has done, and I think it's pointless because it won't go anywhere or make a difference, but... The perspective I take on this is that it's probably an action resulting from this happening to the person a number of times. I'm not saying it's a common thing amongst all women, but it's a common thing amongst s…

I saw a post by the fat acceptance movement on r/fatlogic where a woman claimed that loving fat people was just a matter or perspective. If you simply spend more time with them you'll be able to find them attractive (by somehow overwriting your biology with ideology). That part is technically true though... with a caveat. They need to have a good personality/you need to enjoy being around them. Your brain has this quirky (but useful) thing where you start to see nice people as being more attract…

There are of course going to be areas/fields/locations where it's a good mix naturally, but there are more often places where it's not a mix. I've seen the classes for game development, game design, computer science, programming, networking, ethical hacking and many more... the number of males in all of them is above 80% and in most cases was over 90%. That depends on the reason. Most of the time when it's something like a scholarship, it's because it's a heavily male-dominated field like most STEM fields are. They can range right up to being 98% male. When they're favouring women in this situation (and it did say "all else being equal we'd favour women") it's because they're trying to incentivise women to enter that field and make it less of a sausagefest. Just asking because you probably didn't 😅 I'm not into the whole fakery/purchase thing, I just understand that there are people who are and if they want to do it with their own money in their own time, I'm chill with that. Absolutely, but the connection is there whether it's a fantasy or not, and if people are willing to pay for such a service because that suits them better, then I say kudos and let them do it their way lol. You do realise that the reason it works that way is because funds in an economy are not unlimited, right? It's literally not possible for everyone to be rich. In an economy of trade and services, of any kind, for someone to gain something, someone has to lose something. There is a finite amount of funds and/or goods at all times. It literally is not about effort or hard work, otherwise the poor families who work 2, 3 or even 4 jobs should surely be the richest people, as opposed to the CEOs and …
