That’s all you need to know. Be smart and move slowly. Don’t rush your decisions. Don’t ever lose your temper. Some men, and women, need help to improve their communication habits. I was a decent communicator in my 20s and got much worse in my 30s and needed the help of a partner to show me that I wasn’t being a good communicator and, as a result, a good partner. This being a new situation means that you may have to let some bad behaviour slide, and chalk it up as a learning experience for the t…

you’re not expecting too much. everybody here is talking bout husbands and old bfs. A new bf should at least send a text saying that he’s busy but thinking about you. that being said, some men are much less communicative than others. Just let him know what your expectations as a partner are; which may include contact once every 24 hours to say hello. I find it funny that no one is bringing up the amount of infidelity that takes place at conferences, but of course it would be foolish to assume an…

nobody has said this as yet, so I’ll say it. Tell him, and remind him periodically if you think he’s forgotten, how important good communication is to you. to your happiness, and in return his happiness. Some people need to be explicitly reminded of this if they are not natural communicators, or were not encouraged to be good talkers by their family. He will appreciate it. I once started living with a girl and I popped out for twenty minutes to do something. She explained to me that she would pr…

it mat be a phase, but you may have to get rid of him. do NOT marry a man with obvious red flags. they will only get worse. come up with a list of important questions that you want to ask him. ask him to create list as well. them go to a relationship / marriage therapist and ask each other these questions and talk over the answers in the presence of a trained professional

no. I’m suggesting that she go to a professional, alone, with lots of experience in these particular matters, to answer some of her very pertinent questions. I realise that I wasn’t very clear in my statement. I apologise.

he sounds like a catch to me. Maybe have a solo session with a couples therapist and ask her opinion. if there’s none in your area then find one online. send them a detailed email about the situation beforehand, and what you would like to discuss and get opinions on. maybe a therapist with lots of experience can help you with your decision, as they’ve seen it all. edit: by solo, I mean to say that you go alone and discuss the matter with an experienced professional who has seen it all before.

talk to him. tell him it’s safe to open up to you. try your best to help and not be judgmental. tell him that you totally disagree with his actions and why you do disagree . see if you can convince him to stop, and to fantasize in a more natural and wholesome manner.

Listen. There’s only really one way to deal with this. You need a very talented therapist, and one who has a lot of experience working with people with autism. You have a lot on your plate, and I’m sorry that’s happened to you. Maybe the therapist will also help you to see that you can bury your racist and/or antisemitic opinions deep down and not talk about them. No amount of typing on a keyboard or talking to your neighbours is going to bring about the end of a certain race or religion; so you…

Hey. For the depression. Invite people (friends) over as this will shame you into cleaning up. Ask them to keep you company while you do your laundry. That way you can change your clothes more often. If you tell a GOOD friend that you have depression and that you need their company to help you do your laundry, then a GOD friend will understand. I used to have 4 coffee mugs and lived alone. I’d use either 3 or 4 of the mugs and only wash the last one used, and then reuse it. At that point I’d inv…
