I'm lucky to be able to work on products that make a ton of money. This career is basically US, remote, your own company, or bust. Everywhere else is just way too cheap. I'd never do software without a solid premium I'd probably just kill myself if I couldn't touch 10k.

Tip #1 would be that there isn't a requirement to spend any money to get into software engineering. There are tons of free resources online once you pick a technology to shoot for. That said, I still pay for things like books or particular online courses. Maybe check out the python crash course for an intro to programming and then decide from there where to run with it.
