It doesn’t matter. I wasn’t saying it makes it less dangerous for men, I meant it makes women view men as more violent than women.

Just because men experience more violence than women does not mean that women are “highly neurotic” and “unrealistic”. That is a giant leap to that conclusion. People are statistically less likely to die in a plane crash than a car accident but are more often scared of planes than cars, does that make them highly neurotic and unrealistic? You do not have any facts about the amount of fear men feel to compare it to women to determine the level of neuroticism about either group.

I don’t think the fact that women are less often victims of violence, compared to men, means that women are highly neurotic or unrealistic about their fear of violence from men, particularly if that fear modifies how women act and contributes to why women experience less violence.

Fear is always a perception. Since men are more physically violent in general, women would be in fear of that. Perhaps because of that fear, women are more often not victims because women take more precautions than men do. For example, calling a friend when walking to their car (I’ve never had a male friend do that, only female friends) or calling the cops when their house door is open rather than checking it out themselves.

I agree that it’s a fact that men are more likely to be victims - however, they are victims of crimes by other men. The statistic that men are more likely to be robbed violently pertains to men being robbed by other men; not men being violently robbed by females. Men are also most likely to be murdered, but not by women but other men.
