I don't think it makes sense to compare groups in this way- however historically straight men were the group in power and therefore I think that there is an expectation of competence and objective worth that needs to be met for a man to be attractive. Obviously this isn't exactly fair but it's not really a paradigm you can change, only one you can use to your advantage or choose to complain about.
