I actually got a google voice number for this purpose. The girls google the number, find out it's google voice, and then stop talking to you. They refuse to date you if they can't do background.
To be fair, my girlfriend is a self-made multi-millionaire, as am I. She never quite justified why she did it, but she did say she has no problem looking up how much her house costs. It's also a very nice house. I would have told her how much I paid if she had asked eventually. She's also Asian and her family are real estate investors. We talked about it last night and she said she was just curious. She's certainly not after my money. She has plenty of her own.
All good ideas. The only issue is how upfront they have become about what they find in their research while we are not supposed to do any and it's considered creepy and stalkerish if we do. The double standard infuriates me.

Well put. Except googling doesn't reveal who is a player and who isn't. Players are good at cleaning up their internet image as well. If you dig deep enough on anyone, you'll find a a reason not to date them.
Every time I have googled women I have found lots of embarrassing stuff. Generally drunken photos and other evidence of debauchery. That's why they don't want us googling them.
I get that. Every single woman I have discussed googling with has said that it's inappropriate for men to do any searches on women though since women need it for "safety" and men don't when in reality they understand how much of a violation of privacy it is and are just hypocritical.
I wouldn't have so much of a problem with it if there weren't so much of a double standard that men aren't supposed to do any digging on women but women are allowed to dig as much as they want on men.
Can we at least all be honest with ourselves that women do background checks not for safety but to see a man's status, job, and estimate his income? That's 100% what they are really doing.

No. A startup I was working for failed. I already was working for another company and was immediately brought on full time. I took a 2 week vacation. Had plenty of savings. Mid six figure income. Wasn't an issue at all.

I'm considering it. I already have a wonderful, caring, conservative (socially and politically) girlfriend from a classically submissive country. Completely different experience. She cooks/cleans and keeps me very happy and satisfied. I feel like I'm on a different planet. Plus she's loaded so no worry about her taking my money.
