Suppose my parents gifted us X amount of cash for our mortgage down payment many years ago, I gift double or triple or 10 times the amount back to them to show my appreciation of their generosity and support their retirement. 1	Inheritance If we filed tax by Married Filing Jointly, then W2 and other income are shown in 1099 forms. Tax transcripts are available on IRS website for both parties. They will be disclosed.
